In case anyone is interested, there's a small enclave of current & former Blanketfort users (so a lot of Solas fans), over on this forum, which @Tess put together for the writers and artists who hang out here, and is open to multi-fandom discussion:

It's not super active, but anyone is welcome to come and chat, post art and writing and crafts, and make requests for new topics, etc. She says it might be a short delay on new member approvals, but she'll take all comers.

Oooh dawnstone thanks for suggesting another alternative, that looks pretty too and for me personally its a big draw if there's former and current Blanketfort people there already. I'm sure activity would increase if we moved there anyway given the whole closure situation.

 

Also just sent a message to RDF Forum master asking if would even be acceptable/feasible to create a Blanketfort 2 on their forum. I have no desire to invade or create a duplicate thread since thats not fair on them.

I think the best option would be to have a whole blanket category and then subthreads for art, lore, etc, something we can manage if we create our own place, but it wouldn't feel right to force it on an already established community. Anyway I don't know I haven't been active here for a long time so you probably know best

Yeah, there have been some bumps in activity.    I imagine some of the folks who do giant essays here are going to want to back up their stuff. Someone needs to go scoop up the discussions on the Lore thread. There's some crazy tinfoil stuff there, that I love to go back and read.

Realdragonagefans looks like the best place for us.  Checking out TSG and, yeah, steelcan is right.  Most of us probably wont fit in there.

Guys! Update

 

I've actually just heard back from the RDF admin (she's lovely, very welcoming and helpful). I was checking if it would be alright to make a Blanketfort Mark II thread rather than just all go there and talk about Solas in the existing relevant threads there (see the distinction?), as I obviously wouldn't want us to mess up their forum but simultaneously it's the Blanketfort as is that I'm trying to find a solution for. You know?

 

Anyway, AutumnWitch said that their site is about the fans and we're welcome to create any thread we like ^^ (note from me: obviously nothing that breaks their rules. obviously) 

 

She even kindly offered that if we're sure we'll have enough participants she would make us a Blanketfort sub-board where we can have multiple threads for just that! She said it's up to us and to let her know what we'd like her to do! Which is psychic timing Amburu with your idea about a whole section and then threads for art, lore, etc.

 

So

1) Thankyou very much to AutumnWitch for her niceness/helpfulness/kindness

2) Let me know what you guys think  if the preference is for another site like Elfroot Club that's fine with me too.

You know what's funny? I may like a lot of DA characters but for some reason Solas and his fans seem like home to me even though I posted in other fan threads too. And I think we will be the most invested in DA4 and have lots to theorize too!

Yeah this whole thing gave me a horrible headache. Just like Solas.

 

RDF looks fine... but I'm still hoping Bioware changes their mind.
