So rdf has the majority of the votes in the poll, looking at the numbers and spread I don't think leaving it up for much longer would change the final result in any meaningful way.

I'm gonna unofficially declare now that RDF is where we'll move to to set up blanket fort 2 (providing developments like a poll result change or bioware changing their mind do not occur). Many blanket fort members have already made an account and introduced themselves in the main introduction thread over there. If you haven't joined RDF and want to join us in the move, do so now, you're welcome to come along. In the meantime I'll get in touch with rdf admin regarding creation of a fort space or where she would prefer me to create the thread in terms of subforum. I don't need to say it but just in case folks please read over the RDF rules and follow them/be on good behavior, they have been very kind and welcoming to us and making a bad impression would be poor form. I encourage you to have a look through the forums there too to get an idea about and feel for the community. Join in discussions if you want

I've started some other threads, like Dwarves and Cullen, for example, but just don't feel right starting the Solas thread when you guys would do it better.

Hi folks!

 

I haven't visited this thread in a long time, but I heard about the forums closing down and just wanted to stop in to say how grateful I was for this place after finishing Inquisition. It was so wonderful to find a blanket fort filled with welcoming players who shared a similar emotional experience to the Solas romance.

 

I really enjoyed all of the lovely discussions, screenshots, fan art and stories, and creative lore theories that happen here. This is a great community and I hope the transition to another home goes smoothly.

I'd like to emphasize that EC looks like a great little community and remind folks there's nothing preventing them from going there instead if they so desire, or participating in both communities if they're so inclined.

 

Not trying to split or fracture the Blanketfort of course - speaking for myself only here, EC has some some different positive aspects compared to RDF (e.g. it feels like a space that would fulfill some of the needs that RDF wouldn't - for example at EC I feel like I could pull up a chair to a small circle of close friends with a mug of herbal tea in hand, which is great! it's not that one site or the other is better, but that they have different qualities, for different niches), not to mention I'd love to keep up with the community on there, as well as reconnect some with old Blanketforters who left or mostly left the Blanketfort in the months prior to the BioWare Forum closure announcement. Accordingly I hope to be around on EC some too and participating in there also in the future. You can find me on EC as Knight Enchanter.

Wait, you guys are going to RDF? I was hoping you all might go to that uBSN, it looks good. I just checked it out for the first time a few minutes ago. It's really well organized and has all the stuffs.

 

I haven't checked out the RDF yet. I'll check it out. It's just that I like DA and ME and prefer a place that engages both games.

 

Oh, hey you all. Not a Solasmancer, more of a Cullenite, but times like these we gotta swim together. So I wanted to check to see where the Solas folks were heading.

 

Now I'm confused again....

I brought us/we were supplied with info on/links for VSN, TSG, RPGCodex, uBSN, EC, RDF. Solasthread community consensus pretty much lies with RDF (after a discussion, poll, etc). RDF and EC so far seem like the best fit for the Blanketfort community btw.

 

uBSN does look good but I've seen the warnings from some folk re: the creator (I don't mean her personal history/frame of mind by the way, more the stuff about her history of starting things up then deleting/abandoning them, etc), and I passed that info on here so people could be aware and involve that in their decision making if they so chose.

 

At present it looks like RDF is where we're moving yes. Personally I'll also be spending time on EC. I've also signed up to VSN, TSG and uBSN though. I'm still keeping tabs on wider!BSN's thoughts and potential movements too though, both for my own sake (I want to be part of a real BSN-feel Community Mark II - I enjoy the wider community stuff like the thunderdomes, drama, wars, trolling  - that's not stuff for a Blanketfort II though) and in case there's anything pertinent re: Solasthread's next steps.

Same for me. I've been silent for a long time, but I will miss the forums terribly and this thread in particular.
Without the BSN I probably wouldn't have fallen in love with Solas' character.
Waiting for ME:A will be a lot harder, too. I'm sad now.

I don't know...Mythal is probably using Solas toward her own ends, but I don't think she woke him up. Remember Solas is an expert at long term planning.

 

I think Solas kinda sorta set an alarm clock before he went to bed. He knew before he went to sleep that his plan was to use the orb to restore the world of the elves, and he knew how long the orb had to charge. Or perhaps he knew how long the veil would last before it began to fail and the magic of the Crossroads would also begin to fail. I also believe that no ancient elves are currently immortal unless they are in uthenara (essentially suspended animation). Solas knew the only way he would live long enough for the orb to charge was if he slept the whole time. Ta-da!

If you read the entry in the wiki for the Emergent Compendium, there's a line in it which once decoded says:

 

"An Eclipse as Fen'Harel stirred."

 

Which Elvhen god is associated with the moon, and thus eclipses? Mythal.

 

You could be correct as, we have little to go on, but this works for me.

bioware, i love them, i'm the definition of a biodrone/yes man, they've done some real poops before and packaged them in a ribbon and I still loved and raved happily about it, bruh i got like 4 different posters of garrus vakarian alone in my house,and multiple copies of some of their games, but they really dropped the ball on this one, like did they even consider the ramifications of this decision?? they've created a complete logistical nightmare and large workload not to mention an insane nebulous cloud of confusion and an all around clusterfck for people who are 'community leaders' or who otherwise care about the fate/home/space for a group of people they're responsible for (i know it's selfimposed, i do so love you guys tho), like you know? and panic and wtfery for everyone else. i'm now a member of 7 forums. tumblr followcount swelled. last two mornings i woke up to hundreds of notifications on the bsn. feel like leliana sending a million ravens with messages to a million different people. scouting locations, investigating different avenues, diplomatic overtures. inboxes on various sites poppin. i'm so concerned about my people here and also the future of the bsn community as a whole. collatin important info to bring back to you guys cause fck man i don't blame anyone who doesn't want to try and swim in the sea of posts in places like the announcement forum while picking out important info updates. damagecontrol, salvage, support. i have a todolist, i'm trying to keep up and cross things off at the same time. got a bangin headache man. drink and a smoke to take the edge off  yeah thats pathetic i'm sure some ppl who read this post will privately laugh at me, whatever
