I've thought about it. I think we should have a subforum under the DA:I section like the Cullen people do. We don't need a huge subforum. That's my opinion anyway.

I'll likely be joining EC, too. If they'll have me. Is the Blanketfort group on AO3 still active?
Anyone who wants to join is welcome. Just because the group is choosing RDF as their new home doesn't mean you aren't welcome at EC. No one has to write or do art to join, so don't feel that you can't because you don't have any interest in writing or drawing. We simply created a place where we hoped artists and writers would find support and feedback on their work in a safe and comfortable area.
As for the Blanketfort on AO3, I still update my fics to the collection, but if there was more than just a place to gather our works I didn't know about it

I've made RDF my new home (it reminds me so much of the first forum I ever joined back in the early 00's. It's lovely) but I'm tempted to join EC because I like having somewhere more private to talk about writing. Are you accepting non-DA related writing chat?

yes. We are a multi fandom, place, or even a place for original writing if you like. At least that's where I would like to see it go. Some of the new members I met recently during Camp NaNo and I hope they are as active at EC as they were in our cabin discussions. I'm working on a few fan fics but I'm also outlining my first original fiction. I hope to have the bones of it figured out by the time Nov. NaNo comes around.
We have a number of LotR fans as well. I also started playing Witcher (bought it during the Steam sale through the 4th and took a break for NaNo) I'm still only in the beginning of the first one but I can see myself getting into that series easily. ![]()
ETA: Oh and there are Mass Effect, WoW and ESO, Skyrim fans as well as The Sims.

I remember you!
To the thread,
Want your feedback re: setup of Blanketfort 2 at RDF.
We can make the thread in an existing subform e.g. DA:I forum, or another location can be created for us (Blanketfort subforum). In either place the admin can pin the official BF2 thread at the top if we want.
What would you rather see? BF2 as a thread in an existing subforum e.g. DA:I, or a BF2 subforum?
as always I defer to your preference.
I'd personally prefer that it be kind of like this thread, a subthread of the DA:I part of the forum, and demarcated as the Solas thread.
But! Considering Solas' importance to the overall lore, and likely presence in the next game, it might be nice to discuss him outside of the context of DA:I whenever DA4 drops without people having to go to the former game's subforum or subthread. ![]()
The main reason I can think to keep it as a subthread in DA:I, is so it kind of stays focused on what it's good at - discussing Solas and what shaped him into the character he is, the world he came from, and what his plans might be for Thedas, as he has pretty much made it what it is today. Maybe with links to an archive of this thread, and a first post with all the info and useful links there. It never seems to have trouble staying on the first page, so I'm not sure if it would need a sticky.
But then again the Blanketfort really has kind of built its own unique community around Solas.

I'll go with what everyone else likes. I just need to know where Sunny and Nightsymphony are posting their daily haul of cool Solas-related fan creations (if they choose to keep doing so).

I think creating a thread is sufficient for us. We've been used to keeping to a single thread for over 6100 years pages. It's so sweet of them to offer a whole sub forum though! I'm with whichever decision is made, really.
And thank you for working so hard to keep everyone together, threadad! Your efforts are very much appreciated! ![]()

Hi another lurker here. I just wanted to say that I've greatly enjoyed the discussions, art posts and general enthusiasm here. I've lurked on the BSN a bit for years but I found this thread after Tresspasser hit me like a truck (my poor first Inquisitor ended up romancing Solas simply because the guide said he only liked elves, and I did not know if I was going to do another elf playthrough, even though I had originally intended to do Cullen's romance). Solas is a great ambiguous and complex character and this thread helped remind me of why I appreciated that even though at the time I wanted to set him on fire on Lavallen's behalf.
Afterwards I had a notion of posting something here, but never really felt like I had something to say that hadn't already been said. Now or never I guess.
Anyways, thanks for the memories, the insight and the laughs!

I like the warm comforting feeling of a single thread and I kind of feel like it would get splintered out too much if the blanketfort had it's own sub forum all by it's lonesome. I'm pretty indecisive about my feelings though, so don't mind me. Whatever is chosen I will be happy; they just seem so nice over there.

Oh, I'll definitely continue sharing the awesome fanarts of Solas with the Solas fan community.
Once Blanketfort 2 is finally set up, I'll probably continue what I have been doing here. ![]()

Yes, the Dragon Age Art section in RDF has a thread for Solas art, but honestly, I would prefer sharing Solas art with people in our new thread. Nothing against sharing with the people on the art thread, but it's just something I've gotten used to. ^__^;
And besides, it's kinda nice to have a little art break after a long discussion in the Solas Thread, no? ![]()

I'd prefer a dedicated thread rather than a subforum. It would feel more familiar, plus I'd personally like to limit the amount of threadhopping I do. This thread still feels like 'the place' where I want to go, rather than a topic I like to discuss, if that makes sense. There could have additional threads devoted to writing and things like that, as some have mentioned. My 2c.

EC this way. You may need to register if you didn't do so yet.
SO far people are settling in and didn't decide what to do within. There's a board for BSN but hanging around the Chat section is equally as good.

Hey bros, I've been lurking since forever. I always wanted to drop by but I guess it is too late now. ooops! This thread and that twitter thread are the best things on this site.
I don't know that my opinion as a nonparticipant is worth but I would prefer you guys did get a subforum. You can still have the same dedicated thread. Sometimes people want to have a more focused conversation and I don't think that would necessarily take activity away from the main thread since they aren't really fulfilling the same need. I actually find this thread intimidating, so I dunno maybe other lurkers feel the same. I can say I would be more likely to participate if you had a subforum. Just my 2 cents

So, I just saw this thread:
https://forum.biowar...-collaboration/
Maybe this might be worth looking into? I like the thought that we could import our accounts and thus preserve our post history and post counts. Not that I am in any way dissatisfied with RDF (they have been wonderful and lovely in every way!) but those are features I really would like for us to be able to keep.

General information:
From a poster in the announcement thread, "In unrelated news, I'm happy to report there exists an alternative "new BSN" built by a user whose dedication and reasonable reputation should be well known around here [note from Solas: they're pretty much diplomatically saying "unlike the poor reputation of the founder of uBSN"] :
Join Cyonan's http://bsn.boards.net/ today! It'll have all the guides, spreadsheets and other info you've grown accustomed to with less shenanigans than the next leading brand!"
I've signed up to check it out and will continue to keep tabs on things.
Comment on this forum from another user: "Cyonan has been a long time member of TSG, as well as a pillar of the MP community on BSN, so I wholly support people going to http://bsn.boards.net/ for a community that emulates the current BSN. "
Post from another user which contains good info on the current state of affairs: "As a reminder to lurkers and active posters wondering about the current state of fan-run forums, there is a thread that lists all the current splinters that have sprung up with news of our impending doom. See here
Some have existed for months or years and some have been created within the last couple days, but it seems many people have jumped ship and/or signed up for multiple forums to see which one(s) are going to migrate information and be moderated the best. "
Other things:
Thanks to everyone so far who's given me feedback re: thread or subforum. Keep it coming.

Of course it's super new but so far it looks just like RDF2 (well gee they're built from the very same proboard service)
Looking forward to how everything turns out by next week, we should have a better view of the situation with everything then

phoray thankyou, I'm glad other people are trying to take care of other groups within the larger BSN community, even one is a lot for one person. If you're curious it's 'they' but I really don't mind and am pretty laidback about it, I know not everyone likes genderneutral pronouns its all gud.
spiritofsolace and any other lurkers with the same worries, thankyou for the kind words and for chiming in. If you regularly lurk in the thread and/or plan to move with us (as a poster or a lurker) to the new home, your opinion is as important and valid as anyone elses', as you make use of the thread and your experience will still be impacted in the same way as anyone elses' by the move. in addition it's always valuable when a lurker chimes in because they rarely come out the shadows to share their thoughts as it is!
renmiri, EC link already provided by Tess, RDF is here. A03? as in the Blanketfort fic collective on A03? already a link in the OP, the group has existed for a long time. here. before the forum goes to read-me I'll change the OP to a beacon containing info on where we've gone, how to find and join us (with links), how to contact me if they need to, etc. I'll be changing my sig and forum profile status to contain the same info, and posting about it on my Tumblr also, and also making an effort to ensure one of the final posts in the thread contain it too. furthermore I'll be regularly posting in here with updates and info, like I have been doing. as I asked in my post if you need me or have a query etc and I've said I've gone to bed or work, pls PM it to me instead of asking in here so that it doesn't get lost in the shuffle. everything is moving really fast at the moment and I'm trying to keep tabs on several different places at once. cheers

I've just read this,
I have it but I don't have anyone to use it with so it's quietly asleep, waiting for its time to shine
But I did see a lot of people happily typing about how wonderful it was, does it support pictures though ? reacting with pictures is a sweet feature
- Looking it up because you have enough work already - alright we can
I see no disadvantage then
