(Sorry, this is off topic but I feel safe on here so I'm asking here) May I ask, how do I block people on this forum? I've had enough with certain people in some other threads and seeing their posts just keeps on making me sour and livid every time.

You go to the top of the screen where your name/profile is and click that.  The third option on the right is "manage ignore prefs," click that and then type the names of any users you want to ignore into the box and check the little posts box.

At the top of the page, next to your name, is a little arrow. Click that and go to 'Manage Ignore Prefs'. From there, you have to either write or Copy-and-Paste the user's name into a box. Careful if you C&P--sometimes you'll copy and extra space at the front of the name, and then the ignore won't take.

They did. To sum it up

 

Blackwall is the last LI and available to females of any race.

Cullen is only available to female elves and humans. He and Solas were added during the year of extra development time.

All the others were the core romances and aren't race-gated.

Summary? Blackwall straight, Cullen gated against dwarves and qunari, Solas and Cullen added only after the year of extra development happened.

Yup...  Blackwall is female only romance, and Cullen is gated against dwarves and qunari.  Also Cullen and Solas were romances added due to the time extension.

I was 100% right about Cullen's gates and (as you guys have witnessed) was kind of hoping for Vivi to be off limits..  But STRAIGHT Blackwall? Damn... I guess it makes sense, if he was originally the only straight male... But wow... Just wow. I... wow.

 

Also this means I have access to six out of eight romances. I... I am legitimately floored. [fans self and tries to put brain back together]

I just saw someone else in a different thread mention something about how the Solas thread burned to the ground after our LI announcement. *looks around* I'm...puzzled.

So what do we think?  Has anyone added Blackwall to the list for sometime after Solas?  I'm intrigued.  I was all worried about Solas being the tragic romance, but a Warden near his Calling has FAN TEARS stamped all over it.  Then again, he's the main straight female romance.  There may be a twist.  I have to romance him at some point. I love Sheryl's writing.  Maybe he'll get my Qunari?

 

Right? I've seen posts like that... Then again, I've also seen posts claiming that all that's left of this thread is a bunch of straight people, and that made me so f****** angry that I stopped going into other threads, ahaha.

As for Blackwall, though... ugh. I TOLD MYSELF. I TOLD MYSELF, "SERA, NO MORE GRAY WARDENS." Because first Alistair, then Anders... It only ends in pain and tears! But...I was one of those that subscribed to the nickname "Hot Daddy Grey Warden" back in the day, and... my interest started rapidly growing in the last month or so, once we actually heard him speak and started to actually learn more about him than "Warden"... And I'm so mad at myself, but I just have to romance him. SiGh. 

 

My first Inquisitor, the redheaded CE convert? In the tabletop, she ended up with a human Gray Warden as her lover... He bought it at Ostagar... F*** Blackwall is going to be a MINEFIELD OF EMOTIONS NOW AH. [rolls around]

It's been a depressing and exciting day....I got a call from my mom telling me I need to go see my grandfather pronto who is on his deathbed  ..then I watched a baby boy come into this world ( my grandson).

I have to say, I'm glad that this LI business is mostly over save for the aftermath of discussion. It was such a stressing time for us. People are always very quick to go on about how some of us can care about romance so much -- but I don't think there's a use in denying that you establish a more personal and intimate connection on a different with that character if you get the chance to romance them. And who says I can't care about the romance and story equally? I'm just grateful that Solas was added as a romance. Can't imagine if he wasn't.

I think Blackwall sounds really interesting, and I don't make Forever Alone characters either. Just liking Solas makes you a Solassian, no matter what!

Uh..... I just sent a tweet to Patrick thanking him for making Solas romanceable..... In fact, it was a large THANKYOU from the Solas thread in general..... I'm just gonna hide in a corner and think about what I did..... Thanking people/talking in general is a cause of major anxiety so.....

... Wow.  I get back on this evening and the world has SHATTERED, by the looks of it...

 

I expected Blackwall, but I expected him to be bisexual.  I never even considered that the race-gated LIs might be gated because they were added after the fact.

 

I really, really wish that the two extras could have been bisexual, or something... as it stands, I'm sure there are plenty of angry straight guys, and gay and lesbian people got left out.

 

Did they decide to add Cullen and Solas in part because not as many people were interested in Blackwall?  But he seemed to have PLENTY of fans early on.  So did Iron Bull after his reveal.  I just don't get it...

 

This is way unfair.

 

I guess all I can do is be grateful that Solas and Cullen are options at all, because I would have had to be extremely impressed by Iron Bull and Blackwall, personalitywise, to get past their appearances to romance them (then again I romanced Garrus and loved it and I don't find HIM attractive physically... but he does have that voice...).  I just don't find either Bull or Blackwall appealing appearance-wise.  Too burly, and too beardy--nothing wrong with being either of those things, of course.  Just not my type, so I am glad I have other options besides "make gay male, romance Dorian," or "make lesbian/straight male, romance Josephine."  The romances aren't the be-all and end-all, and I was going to do my initial elf playthrough no matter what happened... but I do like playing them.

 

I just wish it were more balanced...

I dunno what's wrong with me, I'm a female who likes males but for whatever unexplainable reason I just have trouble connecting well with female PCs and end up playing more gay male PCs than female when I have a choice. I was hoping for Blackwall being a gay or bi LI after the (soul crushing) news about Solas, and was saddened again   I really hope I end up liking Dorian (or that IB ends up being the best LI ever created) because right now I just don't like him at all, not his (perceived) personality or his looks. I know I have no right to complain or feel disappointed, there are actual gay men and lesbians out there who only get 2 options each and straight women like me get 4 but I am a whiney baby

The writing and voice acting is what will sell them, and I have faith those will be AH-mazing.  I do wonder when we finally get to know who Blackwall's voice actor is. Isn't he the only one left? 

 

We haven't learned Dorian's yet either.  I am also one of the people excited about the Blackwall romance!

 

 I usually play human females first because it's what I relate to the most and since I don't like Cullen....I was actually thinking about trying the blackwall romance first after she gets her heart shattered by Solas. The thing is that I like playing through the romances so making a forever alone quizzy makes me sad. Unless someone wants to convince me to try Solas first. I hope it doesn't make me a traitor, I don't want to be one. Please forgive me. 

 

Awww, sweetie.  You do what you want first.  Play whatever makes you happiest.  Blackwall looks like he'll be plenty interesting if you like playing human females first. 

 

So now, even though I usually roll an elf after I've done all the other races, I'm probably going to do it as one of the first. Just becase I MUST KNOW WHY. O.o

 

I don't usually go elf first either but I am so, so curious about this gate.  And what it says about Solas and his story.

I'm sorry I just saw this and I'm sorry you have to go through that. I just lost one of my grandmothers last week, so I know how emotionally draining life can be. I think of all the years of my life that have gone by so fast and It just reminds that I have to appreciate the moments I have with the ones I love that much more. I know that you don't know me but I extend my love to you anyways and wish you the best.  But also congratulations for your grandson.

We don't know how this works, exactly, whether the spirits help him, or it's some other kind of magic. Solas does not, as far as we currently know, possess the ability to visit the dreams of people who are sleeping. Now, maybe Solas could, er, sleep in someone's bed and see what they were dreaming, but, well, creepy. 

 

And we don't know, exactly, how it works. Perhaps there has to be 'records' of many people dreaming about the same thing for it to 'stick' to a place. Maybe it just needs to be a powerful mage who dreams it. Maybe the spirits are just jerks and are messing with Solas--"A dinglehopper! How impressive!" "A what?"--for kicks.
