If they do remake it yet again, it'll likely be in Bethesda's style where they ditch the thread sections that were too much trouble for them. Last time I was there, there wasn't even a section for Elderscrolls, just their stupid card game.

 

Just checked, yea it's still like that. Some fans are saying they did that because they got tired of dealing with their elderscrolls fanbase...

 

Just saying, could be an unfortunate trend.

I love the idea of Solas and Lavellan having a child together (how cute would a Solavellan baby be?!)... but then again, I just can't see that fitting into the story. Removing the veil and dealing with all associated repercussions would probably interfere with parental duties. The best I can hope for them is that they survive and get to deal with the aftermath of the Veil's removal.

No. Children put a burden on all your resources :- Time, money, emotions with little reward.

 

When it comes to marriage, the only married couples (by marriage I mean either marriage or long term cohabitation) that are genuinely happy (instead of pretentiously happy with their perfectly choreographed Facebook photos designed for maximum likes and validation) that I have come across are the ones without kids.

 

I am perfectly okay with having the possibility of Solas and Lavellan in a happy long term relationship, perhaps restoring the Elvhen without completely destroying the world in the process or just off somewhere, in a remote ancient Elven site, enjoying their lives with lots of Fade sex.

Happily married with kids? Nah. That would be the worst possible ending, in my opinion. 

 

After everything that's been said and done, I can't see how this story could have an happy ending. Varric said it: "I've written enough tragedies to recognize where this is going." I expect the ending will be bittersweet...

Thankfully I grew up in a good family, so I know the value in it. Friendship and romantic love are fickle, but a parent's love is the strongest there is.

His methods can be a little extreme though.

To actually take part in the discussion:  I think he would make a good father but I don't see the story going in that direction.  I also don't really have a preference, personally, though I think I do tend to lean more towards "no kids".

But to answer properly : i don't like the idea. Not for my Lavellan. I don't mind for any willing Lavellan, but not mine

 

 

Also since you're mentionning parents-children relationship, this statement "there's no stronger love" is a dangerous one. A lot, HELLA LOT of families are super dysfunctionnal and I have a lot of friends who completely cut their families off their lives because issues. As for myself the least I see them, the better

If the kids are like they were in DAO...sure. I think they were pretty cute. That little elf girl with her pet lamb that got stolen by that thief who reminds me of Cary Elwes! And that little boy... "Have you seen my mother?"  Aww...I wanted to adopt him.

I also enjoyed reading the posts from Faerunner and Addai in the Solas thread, but they seem to have long departed BSN. (((Faerunner))) (((Addai))) Wherever you two are, muchas gracias.

 

To Xil and Ghost, it was nice discussing the elves and the lore of Thedas with you two.  I'm going to bow out of the Dragon Age fandom because I'm not interested in the direction it's headed in, but you two made it worthwhile when I did return from my year-long sabbatical. I hope to see you two around the net.

Lob, you're very welcome, I'm so glad I and the thread were able to help in any small way and that you had a space where you felt safe and comfortable in. I would settle for them not ending up killing each other, the way things were left, lol.

I like children. But pregancy plotlines tend to get the in way of action, in a story, if the writers don't know what to do with it. I think they did ok with Morrigan. But there it is part of her character arc, and reflects her relationship with Flemeth, so it works well. Flemeth referring to herself as "grandmother" - she's very much the archetypical crone/witch type character of the series.

Solas would probably make a good dad, he's kind and caring toward Cole. But I dunno, he's not doing so hot right now protecting Lavellan, so I'm gonna say no.
