So far I think my playthroughs are:
Female elf necromancer- Solas ![]()
Female qunari mage- Sera
Male Rogue- Dorian. I'm going to play a male for the first time just for Dorian. (I always play female if given the chance)

I know for my first playthrough I'm pretty sure I want to play a Male Dalish mage, no romance. I am going to be BFFs with everyone!
After that, is to be determined. Depends on what I learn during my first playthrough!
I got most of them planned not all....
Female Elf Rogue (archer) - Solas
Female Human Rift mage- Cullen
Male Human Knight Enchanter mage- Cassandra
Female Qunari Rogue (Daggers) - Maybe IB or Blackwall depends on who gets my attention first ![]()
Male Elf maybe a rift mage or a warrior- Josephine or maybe Cassandra don't know yet.
Eventually I will play Male qunari. I'm not good at playing dwarf I tend to get bored with them quick idk why...but I might play as a female dwarf later on and romance IB...don't know yet. ![]()
So do you guys have a little list of playthroughs laid out yet? I think I'll go:
Female elf mage - Solas (of course)
Female qunari mage - Forever alone? Possibly with Josie or Sera if I click with them. I don't want to romance Bull with a qunari and not interested in Blackwall.
Either female elf/human - Cullen or male elf rogue - Dorian. If I ever get this far. I tend to get lazy after the first two playthroughs and this is apparently a massive game!
Yeah. Now that we know all the restrictions, I've got some of it sorted out. I'm thinking (in my overly ambitious way, because who knows how far I'll get with this many playthroughs):
Female elf rogue - Solas
Female human mage - Cullen
Female Qunari warrior - Blackwall
Female elf mage - Iron Bull or Sera
Male Qunari whatever class I've had the most fun with at that point - Dorian (I don't normally play male characters if I don't have to...I get too much of a kick out of being a badass female saving the world...but I really, really want to see Dorian's romance)
Beyond that (because wow these playthroughs will cover a LONG period of time), I'm not sure. I'm really interested in the friendship arcs for Cass and Viv, and I'm sure I'll enjoy Josie, though I don't feel like I have a good sense of her character yet. But the remaining romances are ones I'm not sure I'll get to. Might just have to look on Youtube!
So far all I have is:
Female dalish rogue (daggers) with Solas. I think I'm going to make her a free-spirited type.
Female human warrior with Sera because I like the idea of the noble family having expectations of her being in the chantry and not only will she defy this but she gets with a lady. Scandal! Plus, Sera is adorbs.
My male dwarf is gonna be a ladies (and mans) man. I just want to see what it would be like to have everyone fighting over him. Yes, I know there would be more fighting if I was a lady elf but i wouldn't be able to resist Solas if i had the chance.
I did want to do a Qunari mage but, so far, I can only see her and a satisfied and single. I think I'll just wing that playthrough.
My Dalish rogue/Solas is one of the two Inquisitor romances I feel pretty confident about. I have no idea what to do with my Dalish mage or qunari warrior. I don't even have a gender for the qunari. My brain works strangely.
My first time through I'm playing a female elf who's romanced to Solas, but I haven't decided whether I'm going to make her an archer or a mage. My second will be a human male mage romancing Dorian. I haven't made any decisions beyond that because I want to see what the game has in store for me first.
I know I'm going to play an elf mage and romance Solas first then a human rogue for Cullen but for me combat is a huge deciding factor. BW are introducing a lot of limitations that go against my playstyle and to be honest combat is going to influence my pc choices much more than I want them to especially when it comes to rolling a mage or not.
My qunari, whatever class I make her, will go for Iron Bull or Blackwall and my poor dwarf if ever I get around to you, you will pine for Varric as I do.
For my first playthrough I plan to romance Solas - I usually play rogues first but now I'm leaning toward making her a warrior because the idea of a tiny elven girl swinging a giant axe around pleases me. Kinda want to spec her as a reaver.
Second playthrough will be as a human mage who will romance Cullen. I'll make her a necromancer just to add fuel to the proverbial fire with that one. ![]()
Third playthrough will be as a human female rogue (archer/artificer). I'd initially conceived her for my Solas-mance but alas it was not to be... Not sure who I'll romance with her - but I'd really like to try an f/f romance since I've never done one and right now I'm leaning toward Josephine. Ultimately though, it could be any of the companions - just depends on who I like the most!
I've kind of backed away from planning; this is the first time I've planned something before playing the game and it's probably a bad idea for me to get attached to things until I see how they work. It's much easier to plan after playing the game and knowing what to expect.
But first playthrough is either mage Trevelyan who will likely not romance anyone (if pure affection for the character wins out) or a Dalish mage (if curiosity about Solas wins out). And second playthrough will be whichever didn't go first.
Braeth Lavellan - Female Mage - Solas - Cheerful, quippy, unsympathetic to city elves, generally distrusts the word of shemlens, sympathetic towards mages
Female Human Mage - Cullen - Moderately pro-mage, anti-war, anti-Blood Magic, a little grouchy about having to live in a forest with other mages, Steady
Male Dwarf Something - Dorian - Pleasant and curious, weirded out by Necromancy, All The Money, Selfish
Ashtal Adaar - Female Rogue - Blackwall - Stern, Direct, Big Picture, wary of mages, Thoughtful, Reserved
Dalish archer with Solas. I'm hoping to make her rather shy/quiet/introverted, rather oblivious when it comes to social norms/human society, and a bit of a loner due to spending most of her time out hunting/protecting the clan. When she gets to know people, she'll warm up and be friendly/loyal/caring towards them. She wont really like being the 'leader' and having to decide things that may cause the deaths of others, but will always try to help the most number of people. If possible, she'll live in the tent outside Skyhold until she's more comfortable with the place. XD She'll also think anyone who calls her 'Herald of Andraste' is drunk. Very drunk.
Mage Trevelyan with Cullen. Much like my Dalish in personality (as I'm boring and play 'me', so both ladies will hopefully have similar personalities to myself), but a bit more of an intellectual and feels less awkward on social situations, having been raised for the most part in a Circle. She'll be a little more at ease being a leader, and may even be a bit more confrontational with some others (for some reason, I could see her having a bit of a rivalry with Cassandra.)
Finally, mage or rogue (depending on which playstyle I like more; I preferred rogue in DAO, and mage in DA2) Adaar with Iron Bull. She'll be more confident and outgoing than the other two, and perhaps likes being in the spotlight a little more.
All three will have a...'diplomatic' personality, wanting to avoid combat as much as possible and trying to find a solution to issues that will cause the least harm. Generally this is how I've played all my characters (Warden had max persuasion skill, Hawke was diplomat, and Shepard was pure paragon) and I tend to have trouble with making a more aggressive character. I really, really hope that as far as romances go, the flirting isn't as...awkward as it has been in other games. It's a shame that NPCs will no longer make the first move; the only real issue with the whole 'Anders hitting on you' thing was that there was no way to let him down gently. Something a little more subtle would be best (female Dalish Warden and Tamlen, anyone? "Why did you come, anyway?" "I just wanted to be with you, of course." I know it's somewhat blatant, but somehow, that convo was a let less awkward than others in the various games have been in my view.)

I wonder what Solas' favourite food is? Something simple-ish but filling that fits with the 'nomad' thing, like roast rabbit/deer/fowl or some kind of stew, or something he tends not to get often but loves to bits (maybe he's a fan of cheesecake? Muffins?).
I also wonder if our Inquisitors will get gifts from their closest friends/LIs. (Hey, hey, guys? My Inquisitors would like a pet fennec, plzthnx.
Or some wood carvings of various animals and pretty flowers. Or at least a hug. Or something. Plz?)
If so, what do you think Solas would get your Inquisitor, depending on if you're friends or if you're lovers?
Hey-yoo! Confirmation that Solas was Patrick Weekes's sweetie!

@Sylvf1 You told me in the middle of my "Solas is my Fade Boyfriend" playthrough. Now he's just that scruffy hedge wizard.
scruffy? Does this mean that he has stubble?
I was just thinking of how my reaction might be when I first meet Solas in the game...it probably will be something like this:
Me: OH MY GOD IT'S HIM HE'S HERE!!!! *points at screen and jumps up and down in seat*
![]()
Husband: WIFE calm down geez!!!!!!!!

It might not go down like that sometimes I keep my excitement toned down a bit lol
So how do ya'll think your reactions might be?
