I was at the PAX panel that tweet was from so hopefully I can clarify a bit? The editors said that Weekes wrote some codex entries in iambic pentameter (possibly for a quest for a weapon?), and that Solas's dialogue has its own weird rhythm that only Weekes & Gareth (and later the editor) really understand. He definitely doesn't talk in iambic pentameter proper, but it will be unique and interesting, I believe.

I hear it too. In fact, the very first time I heard that line I thought that GDL had delivered it in a kind of strange sounding way. If it's meant to have a rhythm, it makes a lot more sense now!

Even if this particular line wasn't meant to be delivered this way, it's still AWESOME to consider and I am glad to know I'm not crazy! XD It's almost too much for this little English major's heart. I'm fangirling and geeking out at the same time...

Plus, his accent is somewhat similar to what we now believe original Shakespearean actors spoke in as well as how The Bard intended them to be spoken, so.

They said there won't be dedicated healers and that every companion can be respec'ed.

 

I think all mages will be more flexible this time - which I like, because it wasn't cool when I or my character didn't like the one healer we got.

And I think Solas would be either a Primal mage or perhaps even a Controller. He spends a lot of time in the Fade, so perhaps he's learned a few tricks to turn the tide in battle?

I'm very curious about Solas' combat abilities.  The devs have said he's a hedge mage, and also said that hedge mages are different from circle trained mages.  Does that mean that Solas will have different abilities from those open to Vivienne, Dorian and mage!Quizzy?

You bring up a good point, if he weren't gated then I'd be screwed... I just hope I can resist the "but this one can be an elf too can't it..*ponder*"
