I'm looking forward to party banter involving Solas. Solas  seem like he won't be the butt monkey, Thinking Bull the one the majority of the party will make fun of. I'm interested in Cassandra's thoughts and feeling regarding our favorite elf. Lets face it any team with Solas is "team dream team", I meant to be redundant. Assuming he could be tempted what do you guys think a demon might use to temp Solas? Assuming his fade research and his being exposed won't offer him some level of resistance of course.

I think it would be really hard for a demon to tempt Solas. He wouldn't be able to travel around in the Fade the way he does if he was going to let the first demon tempt him. I wish it'll go down somewhat like this:

 

Demon: "If you help me, I'll give you gold! And renown! Ehm... Elven artifacts! Like, dozens of them! And... a head full of lustrous hair!!"

Solas:

That give me hope that whatever Solas's personal quest is that it can better than Merrill's in act 3. Maybe a desire demon could try to temp Solas with hair. I can just picture Varric or Sera freaking in the fade and Solas just saying it feels good to be home again.

I've always figured that Cassandra would be the butt monkey of the team, her proper demeanour would certainly generate a bit of a gadfly attitude in others. She's pragmatic though so I bet her attitude towards Solas will be "We need the help, and he's offering.".

 

As for temptation? Maybe the chance to be in the fade all the time, none of that silly being awake nonsense. Or the knowledge of everything fade related.

 

Or the hair. Most likely the hair.

Unrelated, but I've started watching "Ally McBeal" lately since it's on Netflix - my husband was actually the one to turn me on to that - and we're at Season 2 where Nelle Porter and John Cage are having an incredibly awkward relationship because of Cage's quirkiness, oddities, general fear and preference for living in his own inner world. Kiiiiinda was making me think of Solas, potentially.
 
Can't wait 'til November when we can finally really get to know personalities.

I get the feeling that Cassandra won't mind Solas. After all, the guy was willing to sacrifice his freedom to help the Inquisition and compared to the huge personalities that Vivienne and Dorian have he's much quieter.

As for temptation:

Solas: I don't think that desire demon knew what it was doing.

Sera: Really? You don't say.

Solas: I can honestly say that I don't fantasize about you bouncing around in an Orlesian maid outfit.

Inquisitor: (muttering) I do.

Oh yeah. About the GDL Q&A, I'm willing to ask the questions for the twitterless folk. Just throw some at me. The only one I thought about was the Iambic Pentameter question so I'd love to hear suggestions.

 

I think it would be cool to have Solas be a confident guy until you start hitting on him then, he turns all bumbly and awkward. I'd love to have at least one playthrough where it seems like my sole mission is to turn everyone into a different shade of red. haha!

 

Anyway, I recently got some money so, once that goes through, I will be pre ordering the game! *celebratory dance*

I think we might see him at the tavern, he seems like the type to quietly sip wine while reading a book in the back away from all the noise.

I could see Sera and Solas having some pretty funny banter, I feel like she'd tease him a lot and prank him constantly. Varric will probably joke around with him too. I think him and Viv would have funny banter mainly because they'd probably be really awkward around each other.

A demon could never tempt him with something as trivial as hair.  Besides it didn't just fall out; I'm betting there is some really good reason why he's bald and he's not ashamed of it.   No, with Solas, it would have to be something really important, like saving the life of his love.  Here's hoping anyway.   I get the feeling though that demons would steer clear of Solas because he'd be too mentally strong for them.    Also, I think he might have some buddies from the other camp to protect him, like a faith spirit or something even more powerful that we've not encountered yet.    Or may be he's just too strong in the Fade himself.   I'd love a scene where he kicks a** of some really powerful demon in the Fade itself, like Wynne does in Asunder (although that was really her spirit in control).

 

Incidentally, I like "Dream Lover" 'cos it's even got a tune to got with it.   "I want a dream lover so I don't have to dream alone."   I'm humming along right now.
