It might be some kind of ancient elven tradition that we might learn about in game. Hands up to all those who want to ask Solas why he's bald! Is it a trend from the old days or was he just born that way? *raises hand* My Inquisitor won't care bout it, my Inquisitor won't give a sh*t......

I feel like he would shave his head for a practical reason like to keep lice and ticks away while living in the woods lol.

Oh my god those freckles! *melts* They're so perfect!!   Now here's to hoping they aren't just limited to her face, because that would be even more amazing. I keep getting surprised by how detailed and stunning these characters look. Well, I've got my first 6 hours of playing the game figured out, character creation ho! *looks at pre-order in origin library intensely* And I loooove #livethedream!

I have been calling Solas 'Phil Collins' since I first saw his CG, and making jokes about him breaking into Genesis songs or that Tarzan tune around the fire, ala Leliana in DAO. Also how Phil Collins and Genesis will find themselves experiencing a sudden resurgance in popularity after the game is released.

 

I personally don't find Solas very attractive on face value, but for me a huge portion of what dictates attractiveness - to me - is the character's personality/attitude and voice, so I hope he's incredibly well done. I'm also really curious as to the specific reasons why he is gated to female elves only, which I hope is equally well done.

I tend to name all my characters with names that begin with the same letter as their last name, kind of like a comic book homage i guess, "Peter Parker, Scott Summers, Bruce Banner, ect ect" So with that in mind, I'm likely going to name Solas's future GF Lana or maybe Lala Lavellan.

Usually you can change the language a modern game plays in if it has non-english options, which this game very likely will, so I'm sure you will be able to change it to play with the original voices.

I'm reading the masked empire, and I'm really bummed we can't play a City Elf   really, it would have been quite interesting.

 

problemi is: I know the last flight have just came out now, but when will it be translated in others language? there are any news about the localizations?

Not so much to me. I want to be seen as more than just a woman, but I'm straight. *shrugs*

 

He doesn't want to just be "the elf over there". He wants to be respected for his ideas and life.

Using Dragon Age: II and going straight to the system settings, changing the language to German (sorry, German and Spanish are the only European languages I am halfway adept in) and then playing the game I found that it automatically changes it to the language selected. Hope this helps

I first picked up on the similarity between Shartan and Solas because of the bald head.    I had been so used to thinking of elves as having long flowing hair that when I first saw Shartan I was really taken aback.   Of course Zathrian was bald too but I really didn't think it anything significant until we started discussing Solas' baldness and that's when I started to wonder.    Now one of my wishes is that Solas knows more about Shartan because he has always fascinated me, particularly after giving that book to Fenris and then finding the sword, Glandivalis.     Shartan is a hero figure for me and since I'm hoping that Solas will be too, it seems only appropriate that they should look so similar.  

 

I usually spend ages trying to get my character to look just right.   It wasn't so bad in DA2 because if you weren't happy with your effort when you saw it in game, you could change it via the mirror.   I liked changing hair styles anyway because it was fun making it look more fancy as Hawke's circumstances improved.    I gather we won't be able to do that this time round, so I'll just have to keeping working at it until she seems good enough for Solas.   They seem to have changed the tattoos, if the one we have seen is anything to go by.    Do you know if anything more has been revealed on this?

Yes, this, I was really excited by the pictures Ryan posted. I love how REAL the characters look!! I'm still wrapping myself around that like a warm light. I'm really going to enjoy the CC, I feel!

I did that for DA:O and it worked ^^ so I suppose it'll be the same for Inquisition *happy me*

 

About the Character Creator, it looks like we'll have smaller tattoos which is nice  

I like the "all over face" ones but having something more discreet is cool too. I hope we'll be able to have the same kind of noses and big (not too big) almond eyes as in DA:2, I really loved that design, or at least get something approaching, since clearly for Inquisition they changed the look of the Elves.
