I watched that same bit of the demo video more times than I should probably admit. I just wanted to hear his voice a bit more...a lot more...

Pls give me trailer of Solas, Bioware. About 50,000 of the views on YT for it would be from me. I'm pretty sure that's the case for the Enemy of Thedas one...

I prefer him bald, though I usually prefer longish hair on guys. He just looks funny to me with hair.

So I am playing Dragon Age Origins with my second World State with a Dwarven Commoner named Serena. I am finally at the Nature of the Beast Quest and something struck me. We all know Zathrian lived for many years--pretty much was 'immortal' through the curse. And he is bald.

 

Could it be hinting that the elves like him who lived for many generations lose their hair? Which may hint more toward Solas being an Ancient Elf?

I've always thought there was some connection with baldness and pain, like with Zathrian. Never thought about the ancient elf connection but now that you bring it up it could definitely be a possibility

I just think it seems interesting that Zathrian was bald and lived for quite a long time. So it makes me wonder if it would be connected to the ancient elves, in a sense, with Solas being bald as well.

If nothing else I get the feeling that with Zathrian, Shartan, Solas...being a bald elf = somewhat significant? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but it's nice to see I'm not the only one. The idea that baldness is related to ancient elves is an interesting one, and I do see the 'Solas is an ancient elf' theory pop up often enough.

Yup. I tend to stick to the same names. I remember you from Petals and Thorns too. I think I used a different name there though.

 

 

I kind of want to find out more about Shartan still. And Andraste as a person. And the creators. I think I actually have a list of things I want to find out.

 

They did suggest that it's possible that some ancient elves survived in uthenera after forming a self sustaining connection to the fade. It's entirely possible that Solas could be one of them. Might also explain why he's only interested in a female elf, if he dates back to the Dales. Though what little of his speech we've heard sounds kind of modern, if in an interesting speech pattern.

Hehe I had to go cook some spaghetti for my hubby and we both decided to watch Captain America 2!

Anyways I think maybe the reason why Solas is bald is either a. So he doesn't get any bugs or lice since he lives in the wild or b. it's an old elven thing they used to do a long time ago....or not...these are just guesses lol

I was thinking that too a ritual...but it could be nothing,sadly we won't know till the game comes out.

Edit:I'm joking of course I'm sure Solas doesn't care one bit about his baldness cause ya know he's "Nails"! ^^

I suspect on my first playthrough, my pc will be the super inquisitive inquisitor. "TELL ME ALL YOUR SECRETS!" For everyone. And I'll be very disappointed if I can't be thoroughly embarrassing to be around, like Snarky Hawke.

 

I think I might just run around with Cole, Solas, and Sera for awhile. Mayhem will ensue. Jealousy over Lavellan might happen.(Since she can flirt with almost everyone...) Cole will be adorable and try to be helpful. Sera will be equal parts annoyed and plotting pranks to pull on Solas. Solas will probably stand back and wonder how he got involved with a bunch of children.

I plan on crafting a longsword for Cassandra called Novelist's Bane.
