Aaaaaaargh, I'm having a crisis!!

At first I was solidly set on playing an elf Mage but now I'm considering being an archer instead... I'm so torn now between the two classes. QAQ which do you guys like better? I can't decide now! OTL

 

I'm partial to mages but archery is pretty cool. Too bad you can't be both. When they release more info about the specs that could help you choose.

I'm having the same problem! I always play a rogue first, especially after seeing the tiny changes in DA2 playing as a mage (like the "I am you." in Feynriel's first quest), I want to be surprised by them again... but Solas has to be my first LI because OF COURSE, and I really wanted my elf to be a mage. Of course I'll play both, probably several times... but I can't make up my mind for the first go.

 I know what you mean I was going to play Mage as well but have changed my mind to go towards Rogue archer but now I'm thinking about going for the daggers...crazy!

I want to play a Mage because of one of the devs commenting that you and Solas can have a warm chat about magic but yesssss rogues are so much fun and I love the idea of a hunter inquisitor protecting her Mage boyfriend. -7-

And the mention of the choice for Elven Mage or Elven Rogue, HeyCal, I think the decision could be how you want it and which one you see fitting your Inquisitor. For example, I am redoing my female mage!Hawke run, where not only is she is a jokester, she definitely makes note of supporting mage freedom due to her own family and a result of mages can be free and not be evil, plus she is a casual flirt. Pulling the heartstrings on both Anders and Fenris. XD Plus, she is a blood mage sympathizer (to a point) as well as more understanding of some methods. Oh, and she loves money. Whenever she tries to help, it's for money. 

 

I love this Hawke better.

 

So...yeah, just look at your Inquisitor--if you wrote her down or thinking on her in your mind--and think of her personality and what class it may match better with.

 

Although...I plan for an Elven Mage. Because mages are awesome and I want her and Solas to walk through the Fade together.

Well, it seems like he was about to leave, but I'm not sure that offer to talk about the Fade won't trap him again.

The AssQuisitor is hilarious, but at the same time I just wanna pull poor Solas aside and help him plot horrible things to do to her in return. Freezing her bed solid would be a good start! While she's still in it.

Solas may be the one who doesn't leave because mending the tear is more important to him than personal feelings but somehow I doubt it.    PW said he was playing the assquisitor specifically to make sure the flags worked properly, so I reckon Solas eventually reaches breaking point and leaves.   After all with his knowledge of the Fade Solas is one of the few people who could possibly still do something independently of the Inquisitor.    To be honest I hope he does leave; I'd respect him less if he constantly put up with such abuse without taking some sort of action,  at the very least shut the Inquisitor up when in his presence.

 

If any starts abusing Solas in my presence they will definitely come to regret it, particularly considering I'm an elf too.

Specifically, he said he was playing to make sure that the "I don't like you" content was working.  Solas, or whoever the companion who won't leave is, doesn't have to like the Inquisitor to stay.  It's taken a lot longer to drive him off (if that's what happened) than it did with Cole, which is still interesting to note.

I'm torn between different races and classes as well. I love playing as rogue (two daggers), but for my canon play throughs I always go with mage. Still, my plan is to start two games at the same time, which would solve the problem. Maybe it will work for you too.

I'm back! I didn't have an access to the internet for two weeks (it was such a pain...) but now I should hang around here from time to time.

 

P.S.  Does anyone have a free Keep beta code? I'm always out of luck when there's an occasion to get one. If anyone could spare one tiny code, I would be  grateful  and very very happy.

I don't have any codes yet but I plan to save a few. There's one person on my Origins account who seems to not be in the keep and I would hate to just give away all my codes and have a friend come back and miss it.

 

As for class, I'm not having any trouble with the decision. I love rogues with all their stabby and sneaky goodness. I also like having to go into caves and not worry about bringing a rogue but then their lockpick skill is never high enough! *wrings necks*

Hmm, I'm also wondering if Partick's Assquisitor finally managed to get Solas to nope on out of Skyhold permanently. I also wonder if any of the party members like the Assquisitor. She did manage to ride the bull.

I still go back and forth on the rogue/mage thing. I'm pretty sure I'll do rogue first, but playing a First is something we haven't been able to do before, so I'm still a little torn. Maybe my first and second playthroughs will be elves and the human will have to wait. Because, I mean, not only do we get cool tattoos and excellent romance options, but CUSTOMIZABLE EARS, people! How am I supposed to stay away from that?!  Anyway, my best advice would be to just see what mood strikes you the day you fire up the game.  I'm sure I won't be solid on it until then.  And it's entirely possible I'll get started only to decide I hate my Inquisitor's makeup and am not feeling like stabbing all the things, so I'll go back into the CC and spend another hour (or five) and then be a mage instead.

I've been attempting to replay the games! I picked up my Dalish elf (who I'm using for my first import), thinking he'd at least gotten past Lothering, but it turned out he was still in Ostagar. :/ I've managed to get him to Orzammar now, but I am not looking forward to the Deep Roads. Fortunately, he's a lot of fun to play--I've never made it past Ostagar with a Dalish elf before, so I'm seeing a lot of things I've never seen before. The Dalish are so sweet to you if you're one of them! I'm really looking forward to seeing how Awakening and Witch Hunt are with him.

Unfortunately, he's also a jerk that makes terrible decisions, so I'm not looking forward to the Circle Tower or the Landsmeet. :S It's so hard for me to make the "bad" decisions, but I feel like I'm getting away with something if I don't experience them at least once before Inquisition comes out. Siding with the elves over the werewolves wasn't bad at all--honestly, they were infecting and killing people in order to get attention, that's ridiculous--but walking out on Redcliffe made me feel terrible and the Circle Tower is probably going to make me feel even worse. 

 

I think I missed the first round of Origin username sharing, but if anyone wants to add me I'm "princeofkeys" on there. c: I'll be playing Inquisition on PC and I'm definitely going to at least try out the multiplayer; I usually play rogues or mages, but I can play a warrior if necessary.

It's true, the Dalish are great if you're one of them.  I've got a Dalish archer right up to the Landsmeet, but life intruded and I haven't finished the playthrough. I really ought to get to that...it's just hard to pick her back up when it's been so long since I played her. One of these days. She was fun. I wish I could make the jerk decisions, I just always feel so terrible about them! I don't even like clicking through the party members before they've warmed up since they're so grumpy. I'm just like, "We just met! What did I ever do to you?!" I'm probably going to get the Circle Tower over and done with first...I just hate the Fade, and I'm on console, so I'm screwed. Solas would be so disappointed in me, since my reactions to the Fade in any of the DA games always range from groans to extended bouts of cursing.

Mine is like her too! Just in chainmail.   It really is a great origin. I hadn't played it in quite a while...makes me wish it was an option in Inquisition.
