I ended up caving and got the sims 4 and of course made an Inquisition family. I made my Inquisitor, Solas, Sera and Vivienne. There are 3 super crappy bedrooms with super crappy beds and one awesome room with the best bed and of course Solas is always in that best bed. Also Sera keeps smashing the dollhouse and making my inquisitor cry in bed all afternoon lmao! (Sera and quizzy used to always sleep in the same bed even though there were others empty but after her dollhouse massacre they no longer do.

I had a Quizzy and Solas family but, sadly, Solas is gone (old age). It was really sad and touching, though. He had two daughters and the eldest was there when the grim reaper came. Every morning, she gets up at goes to his urn and cries. Every. Freaking. Morning.
On another note, I have finished college work for the week. So, now, I'm going to get back on that Solas/Cole painting. Woo!

But I finally decided to play a rogue. I think I'm going to have my other elf romancing Dorian be a Mage instead. I'll just YouTube the cute magic talk between them to see how it goes, hehe. Archer just seems to fit her better now!
Also I'm super psyched for her CC, customizable ears!!

User 14h.@PatrickWeekes I'm conflicted to. Cause I love the Elves and Solas seems awesome, but that **** is funny. #Assquisitor #DAI
@mannitt Yeah, I am more or less besties this time with people who hated me last time. It's an interesting experience.

See, Solas, a Knight-Enchanter is KINDA like an arcane warrior, but better, because it's human, not elven! #assquisitor

Ah, the City Elf Origin. My favourite.
mine too ![]()
I've almost finished the masked empire. What can I say? I think I shouldn't have. Now I'm even more against Dalish Elves... ![]()
I just can't stand them!!!I hope we can roleplay and tell like in the elven mage origin in DAO that we where originally CE. I really can't like them!!! ![]()
damn, I prefer Gaspard to them!!! Why we can't we have a decent and positive Dalish character? Velanna is the only mostly good I can remember and she is almost a crazy serial killer.(Merrill doesn't count, she is retarded
and Marethari probably was senile or corrupted from the start by the deamon. how can she pretend that Merrill came back to the clan as nothing was, when everyone is terrified of hate her thanks to Marethari's own words?!? really, craziness in DA2 was some kind of germ or what?)

Oh no!
can you make the lifespans longer like in TS3?
Yeah. You can change it. I might do that next time but this was my first family and I'm just seeing how much I can accomplish in a normal life span.
Ack! My painting version of Cole looks terrible, so far. He looks way more creepy than I intended...but Solas looks good. lol. Seriously, I hope Cole fans don't think I'm doing it on purpose.

I think what you have to remember about the Dalish is that they think themselves superior not just because of their lifestyle but because they are descended from nobility. I largely suspect that the city elves really are the commoners that they abandoned to their fate. However, this makes them no different to all the other nobles in Thedas. People assume they should sympathise and identify with the city elves because they are elves, but you might just as well say that Gaspard and Celene ought to sympathise and identify with their peasants because they are human. Why aren't the human nobles working to make life better for commoners?
The attitude of the Dalish towards the city elves may also give some insight into what went on back in the days of Arlathan. Felassan has hinted that the nobility were just as arrogant and selfish then towards their own race and the Dalish admit that the elves regarded the humans like vermin, which they liken to the humans treatment of city elves, so it could well be that the backlash when it came wasn't entirely undeserved. In fact when you think about it, if humans and elves united against Tevinter, who is to say the same thing didn't occur several hundred years earlier against the nobility of Arlathan?
After all apparently Solas says with regard to the history of humans and elves is that "it's complicated"; so I wouldn't mind betting that the rulers of Arlathan weren't quite as peace loving and innocent as the Dalish histories like to make out. Ditto the Dales. Hopefully, thanks to the Solas influence, the Inquisitor will be able to give the Dalish a whole new outlook and genuinely give them a unity of purpose with the city elves. So effectively the Inquisitor will become the decent Dalish character we are longing for.

I think the Dalish may get a rude surprise about some of the non-Dalish elves, at least if they think they're setting themselves up as the elves' nobles in the future. I know at least one of my CE wardens detested them and would discourage other CE's from joining them. The only time I liked the Dalish was when I played a Dalish (and even then, it was fun to run around their camp with the companions who were rude to them).

At least the human nobles and Dwarf have some likeable characters, not all of them where jerks. the only Dalish character that wasn't a forgettable NPC that can not talk to and is at least friendly is Merrill (who have the "little" flaw of being an irrespensable blood mage and one of the dumbest persons ever) Marethari (who is totally crazy) and Zahatrian's first. that isn't of Dalish origins. ![]()
Dalish haven't many positive characters, and I miss even more my City Elf origin.

the one character that first thing first is just "lets kill these scared and unharmed people who where doing their own things when we could just let them run away whithout them even noticing us"? that Tamlen? ![]()
not very friendly with non Dalish, and I don't think he can be met with a non Dalish Elf Warden (I never do more than circle mage and sacred ashes with a Dalish...does he appear somehow?) and way too little time together.

I'm really looking forward to playing a Dalish mage Necromancer with a Falon' Din (Friend of the Dead) vallaslin
, especially since I've been wanting to play a Dalish mage since DAO. I wonder when they are going to release info on the magic specs.
edit:
New mage abilities from the twitter thread:

I'm going to totally be using Fade Step often, it sounds like the blink ability from Dishonored which I loved.
Solas has used Static Charge in a couple of the demos I think.

Well, I see your point. Thing is, even with his dislike of humans, I love him anyways. Though, no, you can't meet him if you are not a Dalish. And yes, he does appear again later if you're a Dalish elf, aside from The Gauntlet of course; Spoilers just in case.

I'm still trying to guess which speciality I might enjoy the most out of the three for the mage; it's not working. So I'm here going 'But I want this, but I also like this, but this one looks cool too'.

I just want to point out that if you let those "scared and unharmed people" go (which I do), Marethari tells you they returned to the nearest village and rallied the villagers into hunting down your clan. Which is why the Sabre clan is picking up camp when you wake up after being tainted by the mirror. Tamlen's reaction to those humans being so close to their camp is kinda understandable. ![]()

On the subject of Solas being someone that might be hard to drive away as well as the subject of betrayal, I noticed this floating around on tumblr today (I have not found the source, mind you, but I figured I'd share)
"companions will leave the party if approval ratings are too low, similar to Dragon age: Origins, and it is possible to only have one companion remaining in the end. It’s also possible for the companion to betray the Inquisitor depending on the choices made by the player. "

Marethari will say that the Dalish could easily defeat the villagers, but points out that the human king (Cailan) would have to take notice and do something.

Oh, I know. I'm just saying the fact that they are coming with their pitchforks and torches at all makes Tamlen's attitude a little more understandable. He's being a jerk, but I can understand why probably because the pitchforks and torches happens almost every time they encounter humans in the forest.
That said City Elf origin is my favorite elf origin.

I don't think that fear of what the humans might do justifies murdering them. The Dalish are nomadic by choice, so if they have to pick up and move because the locals are getting paranoid, that's on them. Since the humans in that village were going to make an attempt at driving out the Dalish no matter what, the three humans in question are largely irrelevant outside of the PC's initial contact with them... As for Tamlen, he had no way of predicting what those humans would do once they left the forest and the Dalish don't own that land to begin with. He wanted blood for no reason beyond xenophobic racism, or at least that's how I see it.

I think it is more of paranoia than simply racism. He couldn't have predicted it, but he also didn't know how the humans would react. Even worse, they could've gotten the templars to go after Merrill and Marethari--if he didn't catch them then--and didn't want that risk.
Still, Tamlen isn't bad. He's not crazy like Zathrian or vengeful. I think if he had survived and became a Grey Warden, he could've slowly came around to the humans in your party.

Pretty sure they meant any companion that you make real mad can betray you.
