I agree. It's pretty pathetic how they are asking who we want to see on certain characters instead of asking "Who do you want to see next?"

So, while we wait to get a lovely Solas picture from this new series of artwork awesomeness that they're doing, might I pick your brains for a moment?
Not really Solas-related but also kinda sorta is. If you squint. And turn your head sideways.
Every year, there is a medieval fair held in my area and I adore attending it. I've seen more and more people who aren't re-enactors showing up in costume to add to the atmosphere and I decided that I wanted to try and do the same: as a rogue Inquisitor (especially since my first play through has always been rogue and I'm planning that now for Inquisition as well). Now, I've never really cosplayed before so I'm not making an outfit so much as collecting things that look right and cobbling them together.
But I want to get extra daring and actually go as my first play through character - a Dalish rogue. That's the part inspired by Solas, really, since his gates knocked my Trevelyan out of the way. However, trying to make an elf presents two challenges: the ear tips and the vallaslin.
So, my question is two-fold... once elf ear tips are acquired (I see them online and the fair even has them available at a booth every year), how's the best way to put them on? And as far as creating vallaslin, what's the best way? Make-up? Face paint? Recommendations on something durable enough to go over sunscreen and survive sweating (because I'm in Florida) but easily removable so I don't have to tromp into work the following Monday with markings of an elven god still on my face? I remember one of the posters in this thread cosplaying Solas - would love to get their advice about the ears!
Apologies again for being... not so on-topic, but the cosplay forum seems rather dead. 
And the idea really has been influenced by Solas since I was originally planning on just being a human rogue Inquisitor, but now I'd rather be the Inquisitor I'm rolling first!

Anyways I'm not an expert on Cosplay but I'm sure there are a few in this thread that can help you out and I hope you will show us the Cosplay outfit once you are done?
Cosplaying as Dalish sounds like it would be a lot of fun. For the Vallaslin, I think waterproof liquid eyeliner could work really well.
They're just trying to get comments on their social media pages and generating hype. As I saw it, there were a lot more requests for Cassandra than IB. The pictures are nice, though.

There will definitely be pics. Lots of them. Sadly, the fair is not until late January/early February, but all the Halloween stuff going out right now made me think of it.
But I'll definitely put pics here when it happens. DAI will have been out for only 2-3 months by the time the fair rolls around, so I plan to be a living, breathing, walking billboard for the game while there!

Did not think of eyeliner... hmmm, that could work. I had originally thought maybe black lipstick and drawing on my face with it, but a friend said that would leave a stain for weeks. 
Literally the exact thing I thought of when I saw that. Solas is forever destined to be last!

Years ago I dressed up as a Trill from Star Trek and used liquid latex for the spots that go along the hairline and down the neck. It's close enough to Halloween you should be able to find some at a pop-up Halloween costume shop. I just squirted some onto a plate and used a fine makeup brush to paint them on - and yes, it did take awhile. But they came off easily enough the next day. Lasted longer than the attempt with eyeliner, anyway, so if you'll be somewhere hot and sweaty it might be the better option.

I only noticed that when I flipped the image over onto a different monitor screen. Before it looked like it was fastened right onto his jacket.
Still think it's awesome that he even carries one with him.
The more important question is how the hell is he keeping his head from freezing in that snow?

For some reason I am so incredibly charmed by that mug and I can't really explain why. It's just so....so normal. Something a normal modern hiker/camper would have hanging from their backpack. But this is Dragon Age where there's crazy magic and weapons and stuff. And Solas has one such crazy magic weapon on his back and yet he also has that mug that's so distracting-ly realistic.
For some reason I am so incredibly charmed by that mug and I can't really explain why. It's just so....so normal. Something a normal modern hiker/camper would have hanging from their backpack. But this is Dragon Age where there's crazy magic and weapons and stuff. And Solas has one such crazy magic weapon on his back and yet he also has that mug that's so distracting-ly realistic.
This is exactly why my attention has been captured by something seemingly so mundane.
Here's someone that doesn't even have a hat to keep him warm in the snow, but he's got his mug. He's an elf that's lived alone in the wilds and yet he still has a mug to drink from like everyone else. Such a tiny, normal detail. I might just adore his character and the DA world as a whole a bit more now.

Aww, what if the mug has some sort of story? I mean, when you think about it, why would the developers even bother?
