I've got this pet theory myself that he shows up at wherever Cass and co. have set up base near Haven where our Inquisitor is being held prisoner. It just seems like it would make more sense for her to bring us back there if she actually believes we might be able to close the rift. And who would even come up with such a thing and think it's possible but a certain Fade expert? Especially since we know he seeks us out, and from that Alix video we know Cassandra asks us to help out after throwing us in jail.
Sounds right. Cass recruits him, the fade expert, to help with the rift after she lets us out of jail. It's pretty cool that he will be with us from the start. I think it'll be funny to see how socially awkward he may or may not be around Cass and our Inquisitor in the beginning.

Maybe awkward is the wrong word. I guess "socially dense"? LOL, that Avvar in the demo certainly thought so.

So I just saw this in the Cullen thread, what do you think it means?
Or am I just misreading it

On the topic of Jowan... Spoilered for size.
The Alistair things made me giggle. I adore him, and have a hard time romancing other people. But on the same side, he can be very needy. On my most recent playthrough of Origins, he specifically asked my Warden(F!Mahariel, romancing Zevran and Leliana, and strictly platonic with Alistair.) if she would appreciate being courted. And it heavily implied that he was pining for her, even though I had never chosen any romance options with him, and his approval was in the high friendship area. It reminded me of Liara from ME, where even if Shepard isn't interested in her, she obviously has romantic feelings for him/her.
And I was super confused when it happened, because last time I had a purely platonic relationship with him, that conversation never happened.
On Fenris, I adore him in general. I usually headcanon the romance to be somewhere inbetween friendship and rivalry with a Mage Hawke. Because my headcanon F!Hawke is supportive of the Templars, but also supportive of the mages. She's caught in the middle of this tense situation, and not sure that either side has the right of it. She wants what is best for everyone. Freedom for mages who can handle it, and some sort of policing to keep them in check. But as a mage in Lowtown, she just wants to stay out of it, and to keep her family safe.
I tend to do a lot of careful crafting of my party for every mission in this case. Because I prefer the friendship routes to rivalry. So I take Anders when I'm doing pro-mage things, and Fenris and Carver when doing pro-templar things.
I prefer Fenris's friendship romance, it's very sweet, and seems built on lasting emotions. The rivalmance tends to feel like angry friends with benefits.(Though it was totally worth it.)
Now onto the topic of Solas! I suspect mage/not mage will have very little bearing on his relationship. I think after spending time alone, Solas would simply welcome some company. I think with how quiet and intellectual he seems, that pairing him with the exact opposite would be a lot of fun. He's already left his comfort zone by becoming involved in the chaos, why not? I think a silly, loud Lavellan would be just the right thing to pull him out of his shell.
In the setting of inquisition, I think the templar/mage war will have less importance than the "Oh Maker! DEMONS EVERYWHERE!". It will probably matter, but when faced with overwhelming demon hordes, the conflict seems less immediate. Or it could be the exact opposite. Mages may be treated worse than ever before.

Read back up a few posts to see what the original question to Liz was, then the tweets back and forth. Pretty sure this refers to companions and advisers gossiping (or ratting on you if you try fooling around on someone?)

Love that the artist chose green for that drawing. Green seems to fit him well considering the whole fade expert thing.Solas Thread... I magically put you to the top of the forum *woosh or whatever magic sounds like*
I'm just being silly XD
Also here is a Solas drawing
Spoiler
That said, do you think we will encounter Solas early in the game or will he be one of the last companions to be recruited?
Edit: Seems that's already been brought up XD
Anyways I think Solas appearing early will depend on where we go first. Maybe the order in which we recruit some of our companions depends on which locations we decide to go to. They did say we can miss some companions entirely.

Well, judging from the Enemy of Thedas trailer, Solas is grabbing the Inquisitor's hand and thrusting it out towards a fade rift to close it. Therefore, it is an assumption that that is Solas teaching us how to close fade rifts (in that Scotch Bonnet Candy way of his). So, based on that, one could assume that it's pretty early on in the game.

I definitely think we will see him early in the game. Seeing him help or take the Inquisitors hand to show him what to do with it at the fade tear has got me convinced he will be early in the game. ![]()

Let's hope so! I can just picture a absent minded Inquisitor just standing in front of a Fade rift and going...I definitely think we will see him early in the game. Seeing him help or take the Inquisitors hand to show him what to do with it at the fade tear has got me convinced he will be early in the game.
Inquisitor: "Well if only we had someone that knew a thing or two about the Fade then maybe I could close this rift."
Solas: "Then you should have recruited me earlier."
Inquisitor: "Oh you were that elf jumping up and down beside the last Fade rift saying that you could help me with my problem."
Solas: *sighs* "Creators help me..."
*Commences with hand grabbing scene*

Solas: Hold out your hand towards the rift.
Inquisitor: *hesitant* Like this? *holds out hand*
Solas: Closer!
Inquisitor: I don't know. It seems dangero...
Solas: *grabs hand* I said closer! *sticks hand right up to the tear*
Inquisitor: Hey woah! *tear closes*
Solas: See? There was nothing to worry about.
Inquisitor: Don't grab me like that...

Anyone who knows if it's going to be possible to (for an example
) check the script of the game, and add hair onto it so that poor (!) BALD Solas can have hair in-game...?
... For all of us who just have a BIG issue with an ELF being bald (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
)
(or maybe it's just me having this issue... but I would be thankful for an answer
)

Giving Solas hair would be like taking away Varric's chest hair. You just don't do that.
