I really need to stop watching gameplay footage that makes me wanna punch the player in the face! When Solas goes down multiple times I'm close to throwing my tablet across the room and screaming in defiance.

Glad to see I'm not the only one cringing at the people playing, and I'm not a good player myself! Even though I am tempted to take on the challenge of starting off on hard for the first time in my life....I usually go easy just to have a nice pitter through the story, but making it hard might make it last abit longer...Decisions. 

Gah, don't tread into the comments section of the youtube videos, it will depress you. I still don't understand how it is compared to MMO combat. *Sigh*

Oh, and hello Solassians, I was gone for awhile.

So, the environments are awesome (had a few moments where I was reminded of Kingdoms of Amalur, which I really enjoyed), but whoever was playing this...

 

 

I couldn't enjoy it much because all I did was sit here with my fingers twitching, wanting desperately to just take the controller and MAKE THE DYING STOP. Yes, we're glad you figured out how to stealth yourself. Can you please stop using it and then running gaily in circles while your party members are being beaten to a pulp over there, please? So much facepalming.

 

It doesn't seem like Varric and Cass get along all that well, at least at this point. Interesting. Loved hearing more of Solas's voice.

Despite the poor gameplay and letting Solas die a million times (thanks, dude) I loved seeing Solas in action. It's awesome that mages and warriors can have special party tricks that only the rogues could do in past games. The staff animations look great!

After watching the videos, I have a few things to say:

 

I liked how badass Cassandra looked when she was kicking the wall.

Her voice is lovely, too.

Seriously, people are crying that she looks like a man. Have you seen those hips?!

 

I'm the kind of person who collects ALL OF THE THINGS and goes into ALL OF THE ROOMS and when they didn't it upset me. I was like "Turn around! You might have missed something important back there!"

I like how the map leaves a line where you have walked. Now, I wont go all the way back to a location that I thought I had missed only to realize I walked all that way to a room I have already been in or  load up a save  and forget which direction I came from. : /

 

I just wanted to hear Solas talk on and on and on and....

Oh, she looked great! And she seemed a bit charmed by the idea of Varric writing a book about the Inquisition. Before he shut her down, that is.

You know, if someone made a 10 minute loop of his Veil Fire line... I wouldn't complain.

Same here. I'm a total completionist. He ran right past some runes that Varric mentions he's never seen the like of before and I was yelling "Go back see if you can click on them! Why didn't you see if you could click on them!?"

 

It irritated me that he interrupted one of Varric and Cassandra's conversations. I mean we got to hear the whole thing eventually but it was annoying when he opened the map in the middle of it. I was yelling at my Kindle "Shut that map they were talking!" I'm sure my co-workers thought I was insane. 

 

His running around in combat was also annoying. That induced more yelling from me in the form of "Could you help them you Bosh'tet so they'll stop dying!". And I was a little miffed that he gave Cass that greataxe simply because it did more damage, when she's most likely spec'd for weapon and shield. Unless you re spec her she's not going to be as efficient. 

 

However, I only watched it to hear companions talk which they did so it's all good.

I am the same!  I usually play a rogue and max out lockpicking first just so I can leave nothing behind!

 

And I can get lost in a paper bag.  I remember way, way back when Asheron's Call first released, and when you played an MMO most people were roleplaying as a matter of course.  One guy noticed I was going in circles, so he came up to me and said, "I always keep my left hand on the wall, and that way it's harder to get lost."  To this day in every game I play, my character keeps his/her left hand on the wall.

Wow, so much new video! I was supposed to be on semi-blackout (as in no more watching videos and such), but.... Solas saying stuff? I couldn't resist! His voice is just too lovely. I'm with you guys in getting frustrated watching thse guys play. I mean, I'm hardly a hardcore gamer by any means, but these so-called 'pros' were just awful! I get that it might take a bit to figure out controls and such, but, letting your teammates die? Running around in circles during combat instead of actually fighting while said teammates do said dying? Really?

 

I do like that there's help for the directonally challenged like myself. Though I hope we can turn that 'radar-effect' off or at least silence it. Cuz that's going to get annoying real quick.

Was watching the game play vids this morning, my hubby saw them and turned to me, smiled and said "He plays just like you darling" . 

 

Worst thing is he is correct, I can be that derpy. Even though I was tutting at him sending in Solas to die over and over lol

I know it won't make a big difference,but would you play as mage or DW for an inquisitor who will romance solas?can't decide!

I always roll with love interest in party, so it depends on whether you're okay being the the mages. No Viv, no Dorian?

If I hadn't already decided to before, I would surely be doing so now. I mean... can you just imagine romance lines with that voice? This might be as close as I will ever come to understanding that whole "ovaries explode" thing. And I can't wait.

Yeah Solas could read the phonebook to me and I'd be content. I love how GDL deepened his voice a little for him! It's so soothing, especially with the rhythm with which he delivers his lines. 

 

And you all are not alone in being frustrated watching those videos. Anytime I saw Varric or Solas getting swarmed with enemies, my fingers itched to grab that controller and at least move them away so they're not getting wailed on. You can't just leave your mage and rogue to get attacked by multiple people or they go down in an insta second! Urrrrrrgh!

I think Cassandra is Beautiful hopefully some people will change their minds once the game is out. I like to collect most things too I'm glad we have that detector on there so we don't miss out. I was sort of surprised that you had to have Solas to use that rune crafting machine to work....I figured anybody could use it cause I remember those things in MoTA. I guess you have to have a Mage do it now.

My hubby and I used to play AC..that was years ago though haven't played in a long time. It was fun though I enjoyed it more than WoW.

Hi peeps! Been busy for a while, and it seems I've missed a lot of stuff! I'm a bit afraid of spoilers because as much as I want to play the game completely unspoiled I'm a very weak woman, and it's soooo difficult to resist, so I'll probably disappear in case of leaks and other stuff (I already have to avoid the internet like the plague between the 18 and the 20 of November ).

Though I'll say it once again, you're all fantastic, I managed to see Solas' concept art without seeing anything else! Speaking of which,

bold, bald head FTW!!! I think it suits him, I've gotten so used to it that hair actually looks really weird! Except the long hair with shaved sides, but I guess it would have been a clipping hell.

 

Also... New vids! Solas speaking (and being the huge nerd he is)!!! But why is everyone so intent on using him as a meat shield? Can't they see how squishy he is? Poor baby...

All the jumping and running that person was doing during that gameplay video,greatly annoyed me  They barely took their time roaming about.The jumping every 5 seconds was annoying xD But I watched it regardless.

I thought I would be happy watching all these new vids, but instead I'm so jealously grumpy that they don't care about Dragon Age as much as we do and they get to play it and not us. x'D Man... I wonder what difficulty they were playing on.
