How old do y'all suppose Solas was when he ran off to live in the wilderness?

I always figured he was very young, perhaps a child... his bio says he's been on his own for "most of his life" and magic seems to manifest sometime between childhood and puberty, sooo...

 

Ohhhh that is such an interesting question! I hope we find out by Solas. Has to be a reason he decided to live all alone in the forest. Something must of happened. Either he felt himself a burden to his family if they hid him, his family maybe didn't understand his magical talent so he ran away, and opted to living secluded from everyone else, or he has always been alone and found solace in the forest.

 

Okay this is going to be really corny but I don't know if you guys remember watching the kids movie "Quest to Camelot" at one point, but there is a guy in it that is blind and lives alone in a forest but he takes great stride in it and has learned to make best of the situation by mastering it so to speak. That is what i thought of when you asked lol. The inq can be the girl wanting to learn more haha. So embarrassing but there you have it haha *hides*

Yeah I think he must of been young when he left, at least by his teenage years since magical abilities usually manifest at puberty or it can be earlier. He must of had a pretty secluded life. However his talks with spirits in the fade is so fascinating! Also the ability he has to sleep in an area where the veil is thin and wake up in a different time period and see happened to that area where the veil is weak is so interesting I am jealous! I hope Solas takes us to see something like that one day. That would be so cool I'd nerd out haha.

Haha that's exactly what I think I he is an ancient elf he probably wouldn't be awkward.Btw was it ever said if he's a fresker or not? Prologue is probably one of The things I'm looking forward to the most for some reason

I love the banter between Cassandra and Varric. It's fitting considering their history. It shows both Cass's dreamy/romantic side with the "Are you going to write about the inquisition?", and Varric's snark and anger left towards her.

 

I am SO conflicted about my party.

 

And I'm going to have a hard time not clinging to Varric and telling him everything will be alright. My bro needs cuddles and comfort!

 

Solas is fantastic in all the videos. He's very Garrett like, I agree. I didn't think Solas would be awkward, so much as baffled by the crazy Inquisitor who embraces all this mayhem, and pranks. He seems very confident.

 

Honestly, the only awkward companions we've seen so far are Cass, Cole, and Iron Bull. I'm including Bull simply because he makes things awkward, not because he is. Cass's awkwardness is endearing, and so is Cole's. I have confirmed that I also want to play a male Inquisitor eventually, even if it's awkward. Just to romance Cass. And maybe Dorian, once we've seen more of him.

 

I love Quest for Camelot! I totally wanted to be Kayley when I was younger. I might've also had a mild crush on Garrett. And Cary Elwes, who I just found out voiced Garrett. I may have also grown up with Robin Hood Men in Tights, and Princess Bride.

As sappy-sweet as the idea is, I don't know how well it could work out since someone might be playing a female elf to romance Sera, or go after Cullen instead. Unless you have to trigger a very specific set of circumstances as part of his romance for that to come up, I would find it hard to think that's the case.

 

But I gotta tell you, singing a Fade-inspired duet with Solas would be awesome.

haha I'm sorry! But omg I do too now lol. I see Solas being independent and not needing anyone. Considering he has lived secluded for most of his life and he is in his mid-forties. The inquisitor will be like noo wait for me show me your world haha.

That would makes sense! I wonder if he is, it hasn't been explicitly stated anywhere but I think it would make sense for him to be a dreamer. Since he can go to a weak part where the veil is torn and enter an ancient place. I want him so badly to take us to a place where the veil is thin and show us remnants of an ancient place. Date night ideas! haha.

I like that idea, actually. Interesting way to gain knowledge and get to know your companions. I wonder when you play a mage if you'll already have that knowledge, or a bonus to it?

See, I really like the looks of that, especially unlocking more dialogue options.  It gives more to replayability, depending on how you want to play in each run.  And I'm curious what the other options offer now.  I wonder which perk I'll pick first.
