Anyways I have had my Hawke Romance Isabela a few times and really liked how she changed by Act 3. I could never romance Merrill though cause I just never agreed with what she was doing with Blood magic and I would always end up in Rivalry with her,still I liked Merrill I love the part where Varric goes to check on her and he tells her she will wilt if she doesn't get out into the sunshine and she says 'I'm not a plant Varric."    

 

LOL, it was because I actually wasn't sure if I wanted to help her. Then I gave in lol. But I am not giving her the tool to fix her mirror lol. My Aggressive Hawke in that video does not approve at all about what Merrill is doing. My Hawke really does care for Merrill, so he is trying hard to get her to see how destructive her actions have been. Will she how it goes lol.

Aww thanks! His name is Ryder and I couldn't resist but name his dog Flynn LOL. Our Disney theme continues lol. But I swear half the time Aggressive Hawke says the funniest things. He could rival sarcastic Hawke with his sass lol.

I'm kind of curious how Solas finds us. Is he nearby when the explosion happens, or does he sense a disturbance in the Force Fade?

 

Yeah it is curious. I think it was MidgetNemo who thought of this theory, but I like the idea that Cass, Varric and the inq go back to the scene of the explosion and find solas there nerding out lol, exploring the ruins. In which case he volunteers to offer his services because they will need someone that knows the fade.

You're welcome - they're from before the recent barrage of videos. Thanks for posting the new ones - I had only heard them in the videos themselves.

 

It's a barbarian guy, an Avaar?

There is one thing that bothers me. Every other companion or adviser represents or has had connections to a faction, and generally seem to bring that to the table for the Inquisition - IB-Qunari/mercenaries; Cassandra-Seekers; Cullen-Templars; Leliana-Chantry; etc. Even Cole could be said to represent the Fade/spirits/demons. But not Solas. We know he isn't Dalish, and he doesn't seem to have been involved directly with city elves since he was a child (if anyone represents them, Sera does). So, who does he represent?

Well, Solas is "mystery" and I like this. But I have a few toughts.

 

My speculations here:

 

First, we know Solas can wander the Fade in dreams. Who was able to do this? Ancient Elves. He could descended from them, as we know, that some of elves flee from Elvhenan when Tevinter attacked. About his faction...well, there is rumour about Fen'Harel, who betrayed gods of good, and lords of evil, (they are now sealed in two different worlds and aren't able to cooperate)and still is wandering Fade. Fen'Harel is also know as a Lord of Tricksters, who know if he couldn't manipulate Solas for something? We don't know for sure, how rifts works, what if this whole situation could be a chance for freedom for elven old gods? Maybe Fen'Harel manipulate Solas, and even Inquisitor. ( well after Soul Reaver Im little paranoid about god alike figure, who "help" you to save yours existence)

Honestly I don't think he has to represent anything. He knows about the rifts, and the demons pouring out of the sky are reason enough for him to teach you about them.

 

I do agree however, I think he may very well be an ancient elf.

That would be a really interesting first meeting! Then he'd have to prove his expertise to them, I imagine Cass (for example) wouldn't be too keen on having a hedge mage join the party at first, so he'd have to be convincing. Maybe this has something to do with the hand-grabbing from the Enemy of Thedas trailer? With him jumping into the fray straight away?

I'm really looking forward to hear what he'll say so they'll trust him and bring him with them.

Interesting. I've wondered about the possibility of him having a connection with the Ancient Elves or otherwise connected with Arlathen itself. I'd like to think he is too smart to let Fen'Harel manipulate him; I haven't been asking about his role because I think he's the traitor in the group (I actually don't think he's likely). I just noticed that he was the exception to the rule and wondered if maybe he does have connections to an interested group that's been kept under wraps for story/spoiler reasons (Arlathen maybe still exists somewhere in hiding and he left; he is an ancient elf who underwent the Uthenera and recently woke up; etc.)

I am really fascinated by the talk of Fen'Harel being the big bad or being apart of the story. I found the story really interesting. Gave it a Greek myth feeling that I love so much. Would be interesting if it was the good and evil lords that are trying to get us to take down Fan'Harel which would lead to their freedom. Solas might think he is helping a good spirit but turns out its Fen'Harel. 

 

I think the idea of a demon being the big bad is also interesting. I think because of all the war between the mages and Templar's we can expect the veil to be thin and demons feeding on that pride. Determined to overtake the world out of spite to the Maker or become the Maker's favored children again.
