That pretty much confirms Solas isn't that person. And if People still had doubts, Sera wasn't dead in the E3 demo.
Though it makes me wonder if you can complete the game without losing anyone.

I actually feel worse about the PC dying and leaving his/her LI behind. Ever since my Warden who romanced Zev sacrificed herself, the thought of another LI losing the PC is just all the sads.

I still think there will be choices to make like in the past DA games that will kill your companions/Inquisitors or not it just depends what choices you make. I'm not going to worry about it so much.

Surely they would never show a character death in a trailer.I'm sure we can all rest easy for now lol,though I am kinda worried for this to happen later on in the game

I get the sense this person was simply going with us somewhere, and they were at the wrong place at the wrong time - kinda like Carver or Bethany. I am very sure those are Grey Warden robes. I highly doubt any trailer would show a companion death...even though we did see Dorian fall backwards into a pit of doom in one trailer. O_o

I am worried too now! I hope at the worst we can save them with a persuade check as before. But then, there's no coerce skill anymore, gah! Maybe just high enough affection then.

I agree. I don't think they would kill off solas in a trailer. Does not seem plausible to me. Just let a companion be chomped by a dragon? Really? I don't think there is anything to worry about. If companions die, it will be because of your choices in the game like last time.

So do you guys have an idea about what kind of hero your first inquisitor will be?

 

Mine will be a female Dalish Elf mage named Alina. Her name means light. She is going to be confident, compassionate, saucy, and a breath of fresh air lol. She will be kind hearted and will try to help people first before her own goals. She is open minded and will be a negotiator. She will seek peace first and will love to learn and explore new things.

 

She will most likely romance Solas and they will have a lot of fun together I predict frolicking bare footed through the fade lol. She will get a kick out of seeing the world through his eyes and exploring the wondrous things that have now been lost through time and complacency.

My female elf's name will be Arya and it means Noble. ^^

She's going to be kind with a little bit of sense of humor. She will be optimistic and adventuris. That's about all I have atm..and of course she will be romancing Solas.

My first hero is going to be a Male dalish mage Naming him Henry because fire emblem. He going to be uncomfortable with his title but he enjoys because it gives him the means to interact with people besides his own clan. My first playthrough thinking Dorian first for a magical bromagemance. Second run though witch I may be doing as I'm playing initial save on and off, I thinking a shy Dalish rouge who is scared of her sudden powers and kind of looks to Solas for guidance and it gives her an excuse to interact with him. Also Solas can never have a bad hair day, so that is a good thing.

My first Inquisitor is Clariel Lavellan, a Dalish archer rogue.  She's got a very sweet and gentle disposition.  Her curiosity, intellect, and focus under pressure are her greatest strengths--her shyness, inexperience, and self-doubt are her biggest weaknesses.  I liked playing a City Elf in DA:O who started off terrified of just about everything and grew into her strength; hopefully we can do that with the Inquisitor.

Not really. It's basically just another way of saying "wait until you see everything for yourself" which was the same answer they gave regarding speculation about Sera in the demo.

My inquisitor (as is any of my RPG fantasy characters) will be a female, elven dual-wielding rogue named Fern.  Although the idea of being a Herald unnerves her, she will try her best to be fair and walk a light path.  She will (most definitely) romance Solas because a. I am an elf nerd, and b. I have been excited for his character ever since I found out that Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto for all the Torchwood / Doctor Who fans here) was voicing him.  I also love the idea that he is a hermit, a dreamer, and not afraid to shake up everyone's preconceived notions of the Fade. Of course, my inquisitor will be more than happy to follow him down the Fade-enduced rabbit hole. Our team will consist of my rogue character (who seems to rush into battle more than tacticly perform rogue duties), Solas, Dorian, and either Cass/Blackwall/Iron Bull as tank.  However, I think I may have to rethink my team. Usually I have one mage set as a healer while the other is trained in elemental attacks; seeing as we no longer have insta-heal, I may take Iron Bull, Cass, Solas, and myself. However, I do have plenty of time to obsess and change my mind.

I really hope that companion deaths can be avoided with certain choices. Oh man, and please no Ash/Kaidan ME1 moment again D:

 

Because I'll be locking myself away from society to play this, I will end up getting all immersed and caring too much if someone dies   I'm not someone who cries often. People will worry if I appear with red eyes and puffy cheeks. They'll think a loved one has died. I don't think they'll respond well to it being a fictional loved one...

How my first playthrough goes will effect the personalities of all future quizzys though. I remember my first Hawke was such a lovely, caring young woman. All subsequent Hawkes were sarcastic a-holes because I knew what was in store for them.

I am excited for my optimistic, naive little Dalish elf though. We shall be confused and excited together as we set off on our journey. Then possibly become less excited as the fan tears roll out.. Going to be fun. I can at least hope that any fan tear moments will be beautifully memorable. 

 

If Solas does snuff it though, y'all can blame me. I have a known character curse. If I like them, they is gonna dieeee. I think my friend and I estimated it happened about 80% of the time. It's crazy frequent.

Solas got us a house CASTLE, adopted a spirit human corpse son with us... truly, he is the man of the Inquisitor's dreams.

I made that same screen grab and I thought it looked like a human female with white hair. I can see how you might think those are elf ears but it's hard to tell at that level of blurriness. I did agree on the mage bit, though.   Very unlikely that it's Solas, IMO...

I'm on the same boat...I end up liking the character who end up dead. It's depressing how many times this happen to me...no matter if it is a tv serie, a manga, an anime, a comic, a movie or a book. At least one of my preferred characters end up dead.
