In ME3, Patrick Weekes' writing brought me to tears multiple times.  I'm going to just be a puddle of feels for DA:I.

 

Ugh me too, I rarely, if ever, cry at things but his writing brought me to tears multiple times.

When will we first see Solas, in game? Probably not long after that big old hole gets ripped in the sky. I imagine something like that would be visible from miles away. Solas being the Fade nerd that he is would most likely come to investigate it. We probably meet him there.

 

When will he join the Inquisition? Most likely when he finds out that you intend to close the rift and because of the inquisitors Fade hand thing. He will join with an offer of his expertise on both.

 

How will the "Hand scene" take place? I imagine after examining the inquisitors hand and the rift that Solas would come to conclusion that the quizzy could use their hand to seal the rift. I think the hand scene is a test of that on a smaller rift. The quizzy just standing there like "How am I supposed to do this?" and Solas grabs their hand like "Oh, by the spirits! Like this!"

 

What place in Skyhold will he usually be found at? Well if some spoilers are to be believed there will be a garden at Skyhold. I imagine that is where we'll find Solas.

 

Which companions/advisors will he get along with? Didn't Patrick Weekes already say him and Cole get along? I can see Varric getting along with him (mainly because Varric gets along with everybody). I get the feeling from the last twitch video that Cassandra respects him because of his knowledge of the Fade. I think Josephine will get along with most people too as long as their not too brutish (which would offended her diplomatic sensibilities.)

 

Which companions/advisors will he not get along with? I think Vivienne and Dorian might look down on him a little (I mean I hope not but it's just a vibe I'm getting) because Solas trained himself to use his magic and they both had formal training from supposed experts. Also fashion! (Honestly I admire Solas for teaching himself how to use his magic and not succumbing to demons, etc.) He'll probably butt heads with Cullen though, considering Cullen semi-anti mage attitude.

 

If it is mentioned, why does Solas have a bald head? I stand by my theory of easy maintenance/want no bugs, etc.

 

What kind of lover is Solas? Naughty? Bashful? Sickeningly Sweet? Saucy and sweet, maybe?

 

Why does it make "super story sense" that  a Solas romance is only available to elven women? I like the Eluvian theory that's been rolling around. I also don't mind it if he is just looking for an elven woman to love and start a family with (I honestly don't see why this is a big deal for some people). 

 

What choices will he approve/disapprove of? I get the feeling he kinda might be like Merrill is this respect. If you destroy any kind of knowledge he'll disapprove. If you're just like "Die spirits!" you might get disapproval. Or if you dis on magic. I think being anti-elf might get you in trouble with him too. And the opposite of those would get you approval.

 

What will happen if his disapproval drops too low? "Fix the Rift yourself Shems!" *Leaves Skyhold* 

 

Who will have the most memorable banter with Solas? Varric. I'm basing this off his banter with Carver and Fenris. And Varric's banter with Hawke in Legacy DLC. "You really want to encounter a spit mage?" 

 

What do you think will be the impression of Solas to game players after release? I'm sure all the male gamers will hate him for either being one of or all of the following: He's romancable by female elves only, he's an elf, a nerd, and a mage.

Indeed. Just last week I accidentally ordered two copies of The Silent Grove. I went to send one back and they told me they would refund my money and to go ahead and keep the other copy! This is actually the second time this has happened.

I think it was great that Solas played a more prominent role in this trailer and that he is the one to ask the question "What sort of hero will you be?"   Bodes well that he will be judging you but in a good way.   I'm hoping he'll approve of my Dalish mage because she really cares about people, not just the Dalish, and not keen on any group that restricts other people's freedom or abuse their power.     I love his voice; just the right amount of Welsh to make me melt.   

 

I'm relieved that it seems it wasn't Solas being chomped by the dragon but even if it did, I think he would give it a serious case of indigestion, before making a miraculous escape.   Mind you, since the dragon was snatching up someone directly in front of the Inquisitor, may be it was coming to the rescue; people can be so judgemental when you're huge, scaly and can fry them to a crisp!

 

I'm really hoping the Keep is going to be available the last week of October as I am on holiday and I can dedicate it to getting my first world state ready so I can hit the game running.   Amazon have promised me a delivery that should have it all ready for the weekend after release on 21st.   They've never let me down before so I'm hopeful they'll stick to it.

When will we first see Solas, in game?

I keep going back and forth on this but I think that to be in the prologue he needs to have seen the early action. My best guess is that he is nearby because Haven has some ruins and he already senses the thin veil and goes to sleep to experience it's history. He wakes up and sees the shitstorm outside so he seeks out Quiz and convinces Cass to let him/her go and he can help close it.

 

When will he join the Inquisition?

After the first rift is closed, he says that you need someone who understands the Fade better than anyone--better than they know themselves. He's confident that his knowledge and expertise cannot be matched and Cassandras like, "We need all the help we can get, at this point."

 

How will the "Hand scene" take place?

We the Inquisitor are led by Solas to the breach at haven. We do some fighting and a tutorial will pop up on how you close the tears and what not. With a forceful yet encouraging hand, he guides you.

 

What place in Skyhold will he usually be found at?

I think he'd like it outside but I could also see him in a room with a bunch of painting and artifacts that he has collected on his travels.

 

Which companions/advisors will he get along with?

Cole, most definitely. Varric and I see Josephine liking him, for some reason. I've got no solid evidence on that. To me, Dorian will be one of those people where they are different in personality but they just kind of do their own thing.

 

 

Which companions/advisors will he not get along with?

Cullen, I think. I believe it was said that he and Bull argue over the Qun. Same probably goes with Viv and the Circle, then. He might a bit of an issue with Sera just because he defends his boy, Cole.

 

If it is mentioned, why does Solas have a bald head?

Although I don't think it will be mentioned in Quzzy conversation, I see potential banter. Like, maybe Sera makes a joke about him being bald and he's like "I'd rather that than the disaster that lies on your head." Oh snap.

I think he will be sweet, not too sweet but a deeply romantic soul. I have a theory that the Weekes romance that "Broke" Sheryl Chee was Solas.

I really don't care if it's an elven babies thing but I seriously doubt it. I've been liking the eluvian idea. Maybe he will say something about how they can leave a world of prejudice and pain and cross into a different world where all that matters is being with each other.

Solas follows Wheaton's Law, me thinks. Pretty simple; Don't be a dick. I think anything that is in absolutes or, say, turning in a mage somewhere would be looked down upon. If you ask him or others for their opinions or thoughts, that would show you keeping an open mind and I think he would like that. Anytime that you can talk things out with both parties and settle it peacefully would make him happy. Also, no racist remarks.

 

What will happen if his dissaproval drops too low?

I could see him leaving. You might rival him but, ultimately, I think he will know that there is nothing he can do to keep the Quiz from being a butthead. So, he gets in his Eluvian and is like, "Peace, Biatch."

 

 

Who will have the most memorable banter with Solas?

I'm certain that he and Cole will be beautiful together after seeing that frigging Weekes tweet. Also, for some odd reason, I get the feeling that Sera and Solas will have some lawl worthy conversations. From what I gather, she is a daring kind and likes to poke the bear. Couple that with some trademark Solas snark and I see a thing of beauty before us.

Eventually, people will get used to the bald. I see many who did not like him on first impression coming around during mid-play. Hell, I see some people as elven women initially planning to romance another lingering on the flirt option for waaayy too long.

I can't say that he will be the favorite (can't be biased) but I think he will be one of those unexpected popular companions.

The inquisition doesn't look to be much to speak of at that point, so just what would he have heard that makes him come looking?

After seeing the most recent trailer, I wonder if he's pre- or post-Inquisition. He leads you to Skyhold, so... is Skyhold just a big abandoned castle when you show up, or is it already the HQ of the Inquisition, bustling with advisors and random hedge mages before you even come along?

Fairly sure I read that it's just a ruin when we find it, and that we gradually see it re-built. The Inquisition's temporary base of operations are somewhere in or near Haven at first (which would make sense as the Divine is there for the peace conference).

I imagine the blast occurs, Solas pokes his head out of a burrow. Makes his way towards said blast to investigate, comes across Cass interrogating the Inquisitor, hears talk of the fade, reveals himself just as a fade rift opens, boom demon fight, rest is explained later.

 

I say this because in the recent twitch stream the Inquisitor was introduced to the advisors and before this Cass mentioned Solas. Something that also comes to mind is new trailer, Solas finds a base for the inquisition aka Skyhold.

If it's like most other things involving nudity, we'll see naked boobs and bare girl backside but only the barest hint of naked man shoulder. Pft.

 

Note that does not mean I desire to see the more controversial parts in any sort of pixelated glory. I wouldn't be able to take the scene seriously on account of how ridiculous it would look. I'd be good with bare backside for all genders though.

I've thought about this as well. What makes Cassandra trust this apostate that knows so much about the Fade and the rifts and how to evidently close them.

 

I mean it may be because he's an older guy too, more mature. I think the Mage that will get the most scrutiny will be Dorian.

Knowing how Bioware does "Nudity" we might see some Male abs/ Shoulder action and females might have some butt and sideboob.

 

I kinda hope this goes for all romances to make it fair. Solas shoulder action   gotta be able to swing that staff with some muscle.
