I don't think he's racist, he may be suspicious of humans due to the fact that most treat elfs like dirt. But that's hardly racism.

I'll be romancing Solas with a warrior myself, one whose very interested in the fade and magic.

Yup, this is how I feel too. I don't want to drag in real life politics, but I do think its similar to the racism/ prejudice divide. Elves can be prejudiced against humans, but because they are so systematically/institutionally made powerless by human, it doesn't carry the inherent violence and power dynamics of racism.

I think Elves honestly have reason to not like humans. So this doesn't surprise me.

 

My inquisitor won't be too happy with having a sword thrusted in her face by Cassandra. Hopefully, that's when Solas comes in somehow.

 

Yeah.  I don't get upset when the Dalish elves in DA:O express suspicion about my human Warden; she is, after all, a loud human girl who likes to set things on fire.  I'd be worried too 

 

Though TBH, I don't particularly like RPing the traditional Dalish attitude.  I don't have a problem with it in the lore, it's just not something I like to play.  So my first Dalish quizzy is pretty neutral toward other races.  Lavellan clan tended to keep to themselves, so she really hasn't come across many humans.  The few she has met are normal people--merchants, farmers, and artisans who occasionally trade with the Dalish.  They're probably more frightened of her than she is of them

I so wanna get my hands on that character creator, it does things to me. Oh! Lets post our Quizzies when we're done, kay? I wanna see all of them and most likely be super jelly that mine isn't nearly as gorgeous

 

 

I was planning on doing like little reports on how my mage Lavellan goes about her business in Inquisition, no pics though, I can't grab screenies thanks to my net set up.

Holy moly O_O I don't understand how people can call him ugly. Have they no eyes with which to see?

Anyway, I thought it was fun to play a Dalish warden who was distrustful and aggressive towards humans at first, but then gradually changing his attitude over the course of the game. Especially when he became friends with the human companions. It made for some nice RPing, as I had him kill the human hunters in the Dalish origin and later had that weigh down on his conscience - a dirty secret he wouldn't tell anyone, but that would affect his future actions and make him more forgiving and less prone to make rash decisions.

My first Inquisitor (I have eight planned, but I will be happy if I manage 2-3 complete playthroughs) will be a Dalish warrior. She will be intense, go with her gut feeling and be quick to both anger and laughter. She'll be struggling with her role as Inquisitor as she's always relied more on her brute strength than her planning - she's a soldier, not a leader, and thinks it's both hilarious and more than a little bit intimidating that she's being given so much power.

Romancing Solas with such a brutish character will be a challenge and he'll probably lose interest as soon as she opens her mouth and says something like "I usually solve all my problems by headbutting them", but I'm gonna try!

I actually thought that was "had" instead of "have" so I was very confused for a second there.
