I am seriously so interested in the fade rift hand aspect. It has so many possibilities for the story and for romance and friendship dialogue. I want them to try to add some really human qualities to the inquisitor where they question if they can really do this and if they are up to the task and why them. I feel like here that solas is metaphorically taking some of the burden off the inquisitor here. It's Solas saying will do this together and you won't ever be alone with this burden. Let me help you.

 

I was talking about this with MidgetNemo and we were saying that because Solas's romance was added in later in the game that the romance will mostly grow from a strong friendship path and grown into something more which will be really interesting! I am excited to see how they develop his romance from mentor to lover.

Aww, I would love it if there was a strong friends-to-lovers or mentor/student-to-lovers vibe with Solas and Lavellan! I know I found most of the romances in DAO to be especially rewarding when I held off on the flirting until after we were already friends...

I was wondering the other day what it was like to add the romance arc after all had been said and done with the character. Like, was it difficult to do so, or were there obvious points along the way that made it easy to develop the flirting and romance dialogue. I suppose since Solas became a love interest the potential was already there in his overall nature, but learning something of the process would be interesting. Too bad there's no easy way to do so.

I think the friends to lovers aspect is why I loved Garrus' romance in Mass Effect the most of any of the other romances. It will be nice if at least some of the romances in DA:I do the same.

So I've been lurking the Solas thread lately (on semi-media blackout now - I check this thread, and I'll watch VA vids and such, but I'm avoiding any gameplay vids and the Twitter thread because unfortunately people like to chatter on about spoiler-y stuff they glimpsed in said gameplay vids instead of just commenting on dev tweets and such   - even though it's the Twitter thread and there's dedicated threads for those other things.... /rant).

 

Anyhoo... I think it is kind of amusing that people are still on this 'Solas is a racist!' thing. I mean, how many of our elven/dwarven companions have made some humorous comment on 'you humans' and no one jumped on it like this? I've never followed a game pre-release like this before but it's odd how people use the smallest tidbits of out-of-context info to come up with these sweeping preconceptions that completely bias them about the game or its characters. I mean, there's definitely characters I'm not sure I'll like based on what we know so far, but I'm not going around posting everywhere I can to anyone who will read it about all the reasons I just KNOW I'm going to hate them.

 

And as far as Solas mentioning children - I don't mind of it's mentioned the way Anders did at the end of DA2. Even though I have little interest in baby plots, that was sweet and non-comittal enough to add some nice insight into his character and motivations without going overboard. But to have our fertility become a plot point, again - ugh, no thanks. First off, been there done that with the whole Morrigan/Alistair fiasco which I still get annoyed thinking about. Also, as a woman who cannot have biological children for medical reasons - the idea of having someone I'm in a relationship with, be it in a game or real life, reject me if I can't or won't have his genetically-ideal babies just really squicks me out. If that's the case here (which I really don't believe it will be) I'll finish the romance, but it'll definitely sour me to the whole experience and I won't be romancing him again.

Hey thank you all for support I am putting some photo here of the Sola. It is not very flattering but I found it funny (don't judge me xD) because after operation, vet gave her super fancy pyjamas like Solas wears . This is fine orlesian made with abit od Dragon Age blood splatter. Lol it reminds me of Blood Dragon Armor.

I really hope we get some Solas. I'd also like to see Blackwall just 'cause I'd like to get a feeling of the kind of person he is. So far, my Qunari lady mage play through is without romance but, if the guy works his magic on her, who knows?

 

I'd also like to know where Solas hangs out in his spare time and see some of the Dalish-themed decorations. Do. Want.

Aww... Glad to hear your kitty is feeling okay. She definitely looks like she earned her 'nails' status I recently brought in a neighborhood stray, who we then found out was a crazy old lady instead of the hyperactive kitten we'd assumed she was. She's definitely a handful, but she's got a ton of personality, so i wouldn't trade her for anything!

Also, I'm considering suspending my blackout status to watch the upcoming stream since I'll be home from work then. I figure its not really cheating since I kept saying I wanted more Skyhold and companions footage a few months back. Hopefully we get some Solas talking where we can actually see it. Also, more Blackwall, since I feel like he's still a total mystery.

Awww im glad to hear your kitty is doing alright pinklyrium, I admit the pj's made me chuckle too.

 

I've also got a 'stray' kitty, that first ended up with other family and then ended up traveling to us. She was quie a handful of issues when we got her and that ca also earned her 'nails' status cause of the things she went through before family and then us got her. She got a very unique personality as well.. and sometimes can be a bit bity but I wouldn't trade her for anything.

I'm having the kind of day that makes me want to scream and punch walls. Then I went into Scuttlebutt as distraction and found many of the threads just made me angrier   So back to hiding in the wonderful Solas thread.

 

Everything crossed for some Solas chat in this stream (two hours to go!) I need something to smile about before I go foetal in a corner somewhere.

Excited for some Skyhold action as well. They should run it like an episode of Cribs.

I know what you mean. I comment in a few odd places but, this is my safe place from the rage, outside. I was panicking the first few days of the Solas LI announcement, though because people who didn't typically come in here were bringing negativity inside and I didn't want to lose our unicorn atmosphere. Other than that, I feel pretty good when I am here. I also find that, even when we disagree/misunderstand, we can be mature about it.

As greedy as I am for more wonderful bald elf, I'd be down to see some of the characters who haven't gotten as much exposure.  I'm starting to think Vivienne is an elaborate and extremely complicated illusion cooked up by the Internet

My first quizzy is going to be extremely freaked out, and I really like the idea of Solas being the one who helps to calm her at the beginning of the game.  She's neither a mage nor particularly devout, so the whole "magic hand and Herald of Andraste" thing isn't going over well.  Solas also strikes me as the kind of dude who would be patient enough to deal with the occasional outburst or existential crisis--LIs are more interesting when they can take a little conflict.

Yeah they might be skimping on them for plot reasons which is understandable. So far they've shown Viv w/o her hat, she looks gorgeous  . And a bit of Dorian and Cullen playing chess. Skyhold looks amazing.
