I was just thinking that maybe a mage would have more experience in wandering around the Fade, but I suppose since elves dream no matter what, it doesn't really matter. I'm trying to decide on what class I want to choose for my elf. I like rogues, but I also like mages. However, if I'm going to romance Solas and I want him in my party, having two mages seems a bit redundant. I suppose I'll stick with rogue, since that seems to be where my heart is.
It's not necessarily redundant to have two mages in a party, if it's possible to build such a mage then you could feasibly have two mages in the party, one that concentrates on buffing and defensive casting (like putting up walls of ice and fire to protect ranged characters) and another that focuses on pure damage dealing. We may not have dedicated healers this time around, but a two mage party shouldn't be ruled out because of it.
It's how I always build my parties in RPGs.
But I may be trying to defend my position because I normally play a mage and I always have my romanced companion in my party ![]()
