But yeah like Ispan said when he talks down on mages and my mage Hawke is standing right there...it's a bit of a turn off.

Honestly, Fenris is one of my favorite romances from any Bioware game. He and Garrus are at the top of my list. 

 

And I just knew that Solas would be revealed while I wasn't looking. His new screenshots are incredibly handsome and I just wanna rub his beautiful bald head. u.u

Hmm.  I've been catching up on the thread for the past three hours (wow, you guys and gals went wild with the new info!).

 

Thrilled to have solid information about Solas at long last.  Not sure about his redesign--there are two screenshots where he looks great, and two where he looks more aged and his facial proportions are odd. Unsure which is the final design, though I can live with either of them.  Wish they'd kept the cleft chin and scar, regardless--and the lovely violet eyes.

 

As for Introvert-Solas (Allan did tell us he was an introvert back in the old thread, remember?), and his hermit-like solitary ways... Makes me think he's unlikely to be a romance.  And yet, if he is, it will be interesting because there will be the conflict between his desire to be with the Inquisitor (or other companion if not romanced by the Inquisitor, perhaps?) versus his desire to go be alone and explore the Fade.

Being an introvert does not automatically mean avoiding all friendship and wanting to be completely alone. It just means you can only spend so long in large, loud groups of people before you want to get away to somewhere quiet to recharge. Solas might prefer being completely alone, sure, but that's not necessarily an automatic thing just because he's an introvert.

 

Edit: And I can tell it's getting too late at night when I start redundanting myself.

Thanks! The tevinter motiffs would have been a nice addition to Fenris' design. Sad they did not get to it in time though.

Maybe that's the point to get him to realize that he doesn't need to be spending his entire life in the fade and to know that there are better things in life then exploring in the fade. If he is an LI that is. I'm sure by our choices  if they are good he will stay with our Inquisitor 

 

*shrugs*  We'll have to wait and see.

Not what I meant.  I'm some weird combination of introvert and extrovert.  I prefer to be alone most of the time, or in small groups, but when I'm in a group I'm a chatty sort.

 

My point was that Solas has intentionally decided to spend a lot of time alone.  It's not that he doesn't want or can't want companionship due to being an introvert, but the fact that he chooses not to, tells me he doesn't.  If he doesn't spend much time around other people, too, he's less likely to care what they think and may be inclined to say things, when he does speak, that those who socialize more simply would not say.

His character blurb is where I get the notion that he'd rather be off alone in the Fade.  But perhaps the reason for that is that he isn't alone, he's with spirits and demons, socializing and learning.  There could be a character arc convincing him that it's important for him to socialize with people in the real world, too, because he's becoming too consumed by the Fade.  Perhaps due to his strong association with the Fade, even if he's open-minded he might be asexual.

 

One thing is sure, if he IS an LI (and again I am doubting there are more than 6, with Iron Bull taking the bi male spot, meaning no Solas McTightpants for us), it will be awkward and interesting.

 

One argument toward LIs I could make in Solas's favor is if Vivienne were a love interest along with the advisor lady.  In that case, we'd have Iron Bull AND Solas, unless of course the developers decided to make Varric unfaithful to Bianca or give us Blackwall instead.  Here's the thing though--thus far Solas, despite my belief he won't be available as an LI, is the ONLY character I would actually want to have my planned Inquisitor pursue as an LI.  Which is a good indicator he won't be... I never get what I want.  But I will bromance him so hard...

Well, IB isn't confirmed as an LI. His profile says he'll bang anything. It doesn't necessarily mean he wants something longterm. He might be an LI, but I don't think there's any more solid evidence than for anyone else that hasn't been confirmed.

Sorry if I gave the impression that I thought introverts just wanted to be alone all the time, I just imagine that after spending all day traveling with 3 people he doesn't know very well he might enjoy having a quiet place to himself to recharge at night
