In the interview it says that Solas wants to help the Inquisition because the veil rips "threaten both worlds". I wonder if that means the fade would disappear if the veil broke down completely.

On the subject of the Matt Rhodes post: Eeee wow. And also, hear hear! I like the way Solas looks. It gives him character. It would be a shame if all characters had to conform to standards of beauty or aesthetic appeal.

We're not exactly sure but some people think it may be because they put the interview up too early by accident. Regardless it's still available to read, copied and pasted under the second spoiler tag in the "Character information" section of the OP. It is also floating around Tumblr if you are so inclined.

I think Solas sounds absolutely intriguing! I really look forward to having him and Cole in the party in at least one of my planned playthroughs. I'm not bothered by his looks; on the opposite I think he looks really interesting.

My current thinking is that it's like end of S2/beginning of S3 Korra - the Spirit world and the mundane world are no longer separate.

I don't really care about the looks, if I did I'd be thrilled to have Cullen, cause I do find him handsome.
I hope Solas is an LI cause his character fits with the Inquisitor I have in mind, and he seems super interesting.
Solas isn't ugly, but he not exactly my type either, it's all about the character

Fenris is still my favorite character, and both he and Solas are lovely imo.  No need to bash one character to build up another.

I actually disagree -  I thought before, despite those things, he looked a bit bland.  Cute but forgettable.  I think now he looks more distinctive and elven.  But that's just me

I agree with this sentiment personally, but, of course, everyone has their different opinions. I think he MIGHT still have his scar, though, unless the lighting + leaf coverage is doing something funky.

Also, in regards to people thinking that just because Solas is a hermit/introvert he won't be interested in romance... bollocks I say!  I'm an INTP - an introverted dreamer type who gets lost in their own head more often than not (much like what Solas is speculated to be).  There are times when I absolutely prefer to be alone... and there's times when I can be a total shut in and spend days reading, drawing, whatever, and not talking to anyone.

 

I'm picky about relationships sure, and I sometimes find them tricky to navigate... but I'm still a total romantic.  And when someone does catch my eye, I can be a total hornball.  Just, you know, saying...

I'd actually like to see the little scar above his eye return (it was one of the first things I looked for that was missing), but otherwise I liked the visual changes.  Solas looks more elfy, and that satisfied my general criticism of the DA:I elf design.  But I'm someone who really liked the DA2 elf design.  (Aside from the height change from DA:O, that's always gonna bug me.   )

Exactly.    I'm introverted as all get out, but that just means I need alone time, not that I want nothing to do with people or romance.  (Those little tests always put me as INFJ...  I actually don't recall what that means exactly, but there it is.   )

Awww, thank you! I'm rusty as can be, having not written anything creative in the past two years, but I'm trying to oil the wheels again. It ended up being a little longer one-shot than I imagined, but hardly the first... I think chrislynn has posted a few imagined, short scenes back in the old thread.
 
Also, love your nickname for Cole!   If I do more of these in the future, that just may have to become a running theme. I do loves me some UST

Yes! You need to read "Asunder". It's a very good book and a great set-up alongside "The Masked Empire" for DA:I's opening setting. Plus, you'll see Cole's "origin".

May possibly do more in the future, although it's still sort of weird doing so with such limited knowledge of the character. But there is still that Part 2 of the dream and it was left unresolved, so...

Hello!

 

I am usually in the Cullen fan thread but I thought I would check out what is going on in here. I have recently developed a liking for Solas' character and I really want to discuss him with some like-minded people!

 

Whether he is available as a LI or not, I so look forward to having him as the main mage in my party and talking to him. I also can't wait to see his interactions with the other companions. Personally, I really like his look and feel that he looks more realistic rather than "pretty boy" which is a point in his favor in my opinion. 

 

If both he and Cullen are LI for female Inquisitors then I will be a happy clam indeed.
