The Viv trailer was great. It would be really neat (but very unlikely) if we got ones for all the characters that showed where they were when the Breach first occurred.

I'm trying really hard not to hate any character before I meet them, but I just know I'm going to hate Vivienne. OTL I don't like her personality and I'm totally pro-mage but everyone is just gushing about her while I'm over here twitching from grump. Also, I just know that Solas AGAIN will not get a nice trailer, because marketing has their favorites and everyone else can p*ss off apparently. =m=

No I agree with you. I try to like Viv but her personality so far is just like "It's all about Me,Me.Me.". And of course they are going to have videos for IB,Varric,and Inquisitor because you know the rest don't matter.

So, admittedly I'm kind of grouchy today anyway (I have an impending deadline that requires me to pull roughly another 12,000 words out of my butt by Friday afternoon, and my brain has started to shriek NO JUST WANT SLEEP loudly no matter how much caffeine I dump into my system), but if we're going to gripe about marketing (YAY!)...

 

I'm so. tired. of Iron Bull.  I'm sure he's lovely and whatever, and I like FPJ and yadda yadda, but oh my God marketing is fixated on him and his purported awesomeness and I'm really just not feeling it.  I have achieved Maximum Bull before the game even comes out. Dude is probably getting left at Skyhold for a really long time before I can handle seeing so much of him again. Very happy for his fans, because maker knows if they were this fixated on Solas I would be falling all over my computer with joy every day, but I wish they would spread the love out a little more evenly. We all have different taste, and there are a couple of characters (Blackwall, Dorian) we've barely gotten to see in action. I would be thrilled to spend some time with them instead of Viv/Bull/Varric, none of whom are probably going to be in my party much.

 

And thus ends the rant of one who only really wants to glom material on the two guys who weren't even going to be romances in the first place. Meh.

I thought Viv looked cool, I'm just intrigued by her. Hopefully they do more than just her, Iron Bull, and Varric, that would not be cool if they didn't do the other companions.

Oh god look at these badasses. My new video game family is so cool and I'm going to love all of them just like in the last two games.  I'm not going to survive Inquisition, I swear!

 

Also, Solas walks with such swag. He's going to be the underdog character that everyone loves or at least can't forget by the end, I feel it in my bones.

 

Edit: And yeah, I'll be mad if they all don't get one. Because under those circumstances, can they at least get to characters that didn't get a showcase video or VA video in the past? Blackwall and Cole and Solas, basically haha. Even Cullen and Josie didn't get a showcasing video!

I love Vivienne so far! She's so different from previous characters and I love that she's so abrasive at first glance. That means her personal arc will be twice as interesting to me, since there's no Bioware character I didn't come to like in the end. Can't wait to hear her and Solas snipe at each other. I just hope it isn't too one-sided and isn't Vivienne just bringing the smackdown on him with no successful and sensible retorts by Solas.

I´m still a bit annoyed about how Bull´s getting three videos,Viv has gotten two whereas certain characters like Solas,Blackwall and Cole barely have been featured in trailers etc. I mean I like their characters just fine but I wish the marketing was a bit more equal

@Dracarys. I know what you mean. I'm one of those people who instantly stops being intrigued by something after there is a certain amount of buzz about it that feels like too much. I'm sure I will like IB. Patrick Weekes always turns it up! lol but I am not that interested in him, right now....or Cullen (he's cute and all but because of the constant mentions and his race gating I might not get to him for a long looong time). Hell, I was interested in playing Destiny but then everyone started to talk about it and I was soooo over it before it even released (call me a hipster if you want. Doesn't matter to me)

Honestly, I would sacrifice pre-release info on Solas for some Blackwall love. I feel like the only reason Blackwall gets the little bit he does is because of GamerMD83. Is his stuff really spoilery or something? idk.

 

I was going to talk about Viv but it was becoming a wall of text so...all I will say is that I think she's very determined and opinionated due to fighting her way up the ranks and I look forward to befriending her.

 

Btw, I have been playing Origins and noticed a lot of baddies are bald. I'm glad we are getting a cool badass nails hot guy who is on the better side, for a change.

I feel like I've been spoiled with Solas, and we have with all these videos but I wish we got a video with more meat on it about him, you know what I mean? I feel like, compared to other characters, he's still such a mystery as to his personality and  motivations. Blackwall definitely needs all the love, though. I think the videos here should have been Blackwall, Cole and maybe Dorian? Vivienne we haven't seen in a while but I haven't forgotten that she got a character kit, VA video, the ONLY Follower Friday, etc way back when. I was there, I remember the days of Vivienne marketing dominance.
