I tend to go with a "favored" team in the other games, but would swap members around if it made more sense for a quest or just to hear some banter. I expect that will happen a lot more in Inquisition. I'm hoping to make frequent use of Cassandra though. I just hope my elf can find common ground with her after the whole accusation of murder and blade to the throat thing.

 

Solas will probably have a permanent spot on the team. I wonder how much fun it would be to take him out with Bull and Varric.

I frequently switch out party members; I start to feel bad if I don't use one in a while. It's cool to see how they all interact with each other. The only exception to this is my character's LI and Varric in DAII.

I tend to have a 'main' party that I bring along for main quest stuff - in my first playthrough it'll most likely be Solas (he'll be in the party permanently since he's my LI), Cass, and Cole, though I might occassionally switch out Cass for Blackwall and Cole for Dorian since I'll be playing a rogue.  For side quests or to go back to an area for some exploration I'll try out different party combos mostly so I don't miss out on banter with my faves For my second playthrough I'll be romancing Cullen, which frees up a companion slot since I can't drag him along, and I'll mix it up a lot more so I can better get to know the companions I didn't use much the first time around.

I usually use a main party too. This may be the game that convinces me switching out more often is better, although on the first run through I'll probably want to hear everything Solas and Cole have to say, so they'll be permanent. Unless I'm running through an area a second time or something. Or I stop questing to run around killing things and listening to banter, that may also happen.

I don't choose party member on class but more on range and abilities. (I mean, I used to have a healer in my party but..) So if I were to choose a dual wielding rogue that would make a different party dynamic from, say, an archer. I would need at least one long ranged fighter to start off (so Solas, then. lol) and then have some really good fighters in close quarters. I'll probably end up with two warriors, quiz with daggers, and Solas. Maybe Cass, Blackwall and Solas then? I would be curious to see how that combination works.

That was me. Unfortunately, I had simply modified the look of my elf pawn, Chase, strictly for those pictures. You are still more than welcome to rent my pawn, and once I can wrangle the TV back from my husband, I'll give Chase the "Solas make-over" again.

@Magnetic - lol! On the Dragon's Dogma thread (it's in the Lobby section of the BW forum....please come hangout, anytime! ), we have a penchant for ascribing "personalities" to our pawns, and dressing them up rather outrageously. Wait till you see the Cursed King Belt Brigade. Too SEXAY!

So, they just released another Iron Bull video. It would have been nice to get a Solas video but I don't see that happening before release. Oh well. The world will know of his greatness soon enough!

Well we all saw the hidden agendas thing coming! I just hope he doesn't go full on betrayer. Otherwise I feel like half of our Inquisition companions have ulterior motives so I'm not surprised.

 

Edit: And also, he's the first mage companion. Of course he has something sneaky going on. It's like BioWare tradition now!

Yeah I'm not surprised by him having a hidden agenda but I dont want him to be a betrayer or anything either. Should be interesting to see what happens. Thats why Im romancing Solas first though, cause it seems like his story arc will be full of surprises and stuff I dont want to get spoiled for before hand.

I wonder if we can play our characters that way too. "Yep, you're all useful and nice, but I don't trust any of you and I'm doing this for myself." Not quite in the AssQuisitor way, but... hey, if none of them are really there except to further their own goals, why not us too. I'll vanquish the demon horde and turn them to my will! They will subdue all the humans, and the elves will rise again! AHhahah -- Sorry.

Ooh, interesting. So the plot thickens... Considering the 'very moral' bit, I'm guessing his agenda is a personal one, rather than an evil one? Something that relates to elfy stuff, perhaps? And maybe the reason he's only interested in an elfy girlfriend? Hmmmmm.....

Edit: Thinking about it a bit more, in regards to his morality we've heard he doesn't see the world in black and white in terms of good and bad. So his 'very moral' may not be in the way one might expect. And I didn't think I could get anymore curious about him than I already was...

I'm hoping he's just not like Anders with the you-know-what. If you're going to have hidden agendas, please be subtle about them and don't outright pull that kind of crap. My heart wouldn't be able to take using the murder knife again.
