Should I watch the stream or not? I mean I already watched the AngryJoe video,but he skipped most of the cutscenes...

 

Will it take away from your experience if you see a lot of prologue spoilers? I'm watching it but I love spoilers. I like knowing what I'm getting into.

I've done so well at not watching any videos lately. The temptation to watch this one is great, because I need all the Dragon age. But I want the first time I experience that first hour to be with my inquisitor

Although I will be all over any non spoilery pictures of Solas if he shows in it. I like staring at his prettiness to help the time pass.

On the topic of names, mine shall be Athyra because that is what I name all my first female characters in any medieval RPG because I'm just so creative.

 

Unless the default name is super-cool. I left my city elf Kallian and my Hawke as Marian because I was okay with those.

 

Also am not watching the stream. I don't mind stumbling across spoilers/comments/screenshots, but I have zero desire to watch the entire first hour of the game unless I'm the one playing it.

 

However, with that being said, I would LOVE to hear y'all's impressions of Solas. I looked at a random page in the stream thread and saw a lot of people saying he seems so nice, seems cool, seems Spock-like, and then I ran the hell away from the thread because I didn't want to read a stream play-by-play (just as bad as watching it).

Impressions of Solas:

I wouldn't call him Spock-like. That implies keeping more distance from things than he did. He's polite, focused on the problem, and very intelligent.

 

Spoilers for why he's so grumpy and the hand grabbing:

So he doesn't even give the Inquisitor warning. Just grabs their hand and it closes the Rift. He looks grumpy because he's in a rush to close it before more demons come out of it.

He seemed friendly,knowledgeable, and Mike called him a smarty pants. Lol....also he was Handsome!

Yeah. Solas was real nice and welcoming, from what I saw (i got about 15-20 mins in)

 

Something of note: In all his pictures he's got that straight, serious face going on but in stream he was smiling and looking real warm w/ Quizzy. (not too friendly 'cuz shes a Qunari though) I just found that a refreshing change.

 

Gotta be honest, though I forgot most of what he said because I was staring at the pretty. At one point, I was just looking at the way the light reflects off of his head. HNNG!

I actually think he looked less friendly because Mike chose a different dialogue option with Varric than Angry Joe did. If you tell Varric you're pleased to meet him, he and Solas tease each other, which is where the adorable smile comes in. He and Varric seem to get along well.

 

Also for anyone interested, Solas approves if you thank him for saving you. His response doesn't sound too pleased though: the Inquisitor can thank him if they get out of this alive. (I imagine quite a few Lavellan Inquisitors will be doing exactly that, given half a chance.  )

Yeah Solas was super cute and came across as very calm and intelligent in the stream.

Though something he said makes me worry people are gonna be suspicious of him from the start, though hopefully it will be explained later in the story.

 

Also Sumalee Montano's voice was absolutely perfect, very rich, deep and authoritative. I'm now totally sold on using her voice for my lady elf.
