omg i don't even know if the spoilers you are talking about are the ones i clicked to see earlier on. There was like a spoiler overload in this thread lol (good thing they were all tagged tho). And as if things weren't bad enough the ea early access began and I'm still without the game and totally sulking u.u

   Still, waiting for those of you who got it to share your impressions later and make the rest of us totally jealous lol

Agreed it will be great to hear fan impressions of this game. As for me I'm right there with you. I've been careful when it comes to spoilers so far. Just 6 more days...
Looking forward to that DAMP stream that is just about to start. I want to see the tempest and rift mage specs in action.

Okay so BECAUSE I CAN'T STAY AWAY FROM YOU GUYS (darn all you awesome people)

 

I was in a stream today with the lovely Babylonian, he played the first 4 hours or so of Inquisition...

 

I was there since pretty much the start and he had replied to me a few times throughout the video, until one part where I (Solas29) was begging for him to talk to Solas, and he did! Solas spoke for like, 2 whole minutes. That's the most we've had so far with just him~

crap, you know, as something you want gets closer and closer to the edge... it feels slower and slower to the date.

 

I thought I was flipping my crap at two weeks, but ho man, its 6 days and now I'm checking every 30 minutes >_>

My mind seriously thinks its releasing today.

Help, I've fallen for Solas and I can't get up.

 

Was watching a stream of the early game, and I was smitten after the first conversation. He's amazing. I don't know if personality analysis is spoilers? But it's not nearly as spoilery as the other stuff in the spoiler group, so I'll copy/paste it here too. Keep in mind this is based off of one conversation (though I have seen it from different streamers who took different answers) and a bunch of banters. So spoilers for the first short conversation you have with him, but all quotes are paraphrased. No actual dialogue in there.

So Solas's alignment is basically Grumpy Neutral Nerd. I swear he's a nerd and a half sometimes. Every time you ask him a question he gains approval and seems to perk up a bit, ESPECIALLY if it's about the Fade. Oh man, and if you compliment him on his fade nerdery he's so proud of himself. Pretty sure he says "Yes, it is an unusual area of study" [proud]. Oh my gooood.

 

And he's all about you backing up your words. If you say something without really meaning it, he challenges you on it. Same thing if you try avoiding a question. If you say, "I'm going to do X", he says, "How?" He's Mr. Socratic Method. I have no idea why I love him so much already but I do.

 

Also, that banter with Cass? Makes so much sense now. He's completely uninterested in telling white lies, even to spare people's feelings. Guess that's the "has not interacted with people for years" thing. He always tells you his honest thoughts, no matter what. So if you say "well I don't wanna be a hero", he says "that's nice, but pointless. You are one." He's amazing.

 

Gotta say, his personality is waaaaay different than I thought it would be, but I am so glad for that. Patrick Weekes is a mad genius.

I dunno about lovely, I spent most of the stream going "No, you idiot! Not like that!", and tearing my hair out in frustration at all the really obvious stuff he was missing and all the pointless running in circles and the complete lack of tactics and the way he repeatedly failed basic stuff like finding the friggin quest map...

 

I may be a bit of an elitist, though.

I like his voice, and the fact that he is so calm and kind to my PC.Also his smile is cute   To be honest I don't care about all those bad rumours and spoilers and really want to create strong friendship between him and my PC, after I was able to meet him in game by myself ( not just watching youtube or twitch).

I'm loving the new info about his personality, I don't consider them to be spoilers so it's ok  I can't wait to meet him in game, he sounds so adorkably nerdy!



Edited to add that if I had early access I would spend all 6 hours in the character creator, I don't think I would have time to talk to Solas at all  I'm a bad person.

I'll disagree about the 'book' one; it looks far too much like the one for Ghilan'nain in DAO (the one that resembles Halla horns) to be anything but hers, in my mind.  Not sure about the others, but...

Heh, I'm hiding here, mostly lurking and compulsively liking posts... Last week has been pretty busy and that was perfect because after playing Inquisition for a bit at Lucca Comics and Games there was no containing my excitement. But now I have too much free time and it's crazy, there aren't many days left but it's such an excruciating wait! I'm truly feeling like this:

 

 

Despite my growing curiosity I'm mostly staying away from main story spoilers, and I don't want to know anything specific about the romances because I want to experience them first-hand. It's so hard, I don't have much willpower!

Anyway I took a tiny peek at some stuff about Solas because I am a weak woman, Solas info is always welcome, plus I was getting a bit worried. The only result is that I am -if possible- more excited and intrigued.

 

A big hug to you all, Solas thread peeps! The suffering's almost over!

Interesting. Where is this from? I was waiting on an "official" confirmation of what is what, but as I said... I'll go with best guess since we'll have no choice. I wanted Dirthamen from the Origins set since it would fit with the vague concept I had in mind, but will see what looks good in the CC. Important decisions reduced to "meh, that looks pretty."

Made worse by a dream I had last night where I went into GameStop to buy some things, and the employee was confused by EA Early Access and thought it meant everyone who preordered could have their game, so he gave me my PS4 copy. I was playing when I woke up to the horrible reality that I still have more waiting to do.

Wow, did tireddrunk me really gush about Solas that much? XD But seriously, he's so awesome. I can see why the devs were having trouble really talking about his personality.  He's more understated than some of the bigger personalities like Bull and Sera but he's just so...complex. And really admirable. I mean, it sounds boring to say "and Solas is this hedge mage who is very thoughtful and inquisitive". But...he is. And it's so amazing. Because he's funny with an edge to it, and there's weight behind everything he says. And you can't help admiring him because he's so obviously living the life he wants to live with no regrets. And because you know he won't lie to you, every time he praises you you know that he is expressing his honest approval. His praise needs to be earned, which makes it all the more precious.

 

(I swear, character analysis is my favourite part of these games).

It's so weird how the last days before the release seem to last so much longer than when we had to wait, say, 2 months. Suffice to say I'm going half mad trying to find things to do and noticing how I go back to thinking about DA:I within 10 minutes... I really have a feeling I'm going to burst into tears when I see that wonderful title screen on my pc, but who the heck cares because it's going to be so worth it
