Well, that inevitable time has come where I must take my leave of this (and all other threads) in order to avoid spoilers. It's going to be hard not checking in with this thread every day like I have been ever since Solas was first revealed! I will miss all the lovely people in here, but I can't risk spoilers anymore; but just a few more days of waiting!

I will be back once I finish my first playthrough to share all our lovely Inquisitors and our impressions of our favourite bald pyjama elf!

Saw some very early-game banter between Solas, Varric, and Cass in a stream. Not spoilery except for that specific banter.

They really are. They sound sorta crazy...but really compelling.

Hnng I couldn't resist watching that video, parts only but Solas is everything I hoped he would be and more I would listen to him for hours and not get tired. I love his wry humor, his high intelligence, the way he thinks beyond the superficial and thinks out of the box. I can't wait to meet him in game! Thank you for sharing that video

Oh wow, she looks amazing! I'm so happy that we have such an advanced character creation, it used to be hard to make a pretty character, now it's hard not to make a pretty character

I think most of the flirting is less overt this time around (except with Bull, perhaps?). I've seen Solas's first, and read about the next couple (there are a lot of 'em) and they seem really well-done and not Shepard and Jacob at all.

The Gamespot article on who the LIs were said that when you first talk to him he doesn't seem like he'd be interested in romancing anyone.

It might just be that a non-elf lady's attempts at flirting fly completely over his head. Think Garrus, but the poor boy just doesn't have a clue.

He doesn't have too many connections with non-spirit people and doesn't seem a huge romantic type but he approves if you flirt with him!

 

You might not get a choice to flirt with him if you're not an elf female, though. Unlike me having the option to flirt with Cassandra or that male dwarf getting a flirt option with Cullen, a person playing a male qunari didn't get a flirt option with Solas.

I have to say...I never really cared about Solas. But that changed around...four days ago? I saw the Twitch Stream of the prologue and instantly decided that he would become one of my favourite characters.

It's true that he doesn't really seem interesting at first glance, maybe that's why a lot of the current reviews state that he is kind of interesting, but not their favourite character.

But man, that smooth voice, dry humour and kind of awkwardness about him is really endearing. I read some of the spoilers about him, which makes him even more interesting.

Just thought I'd share with you guys that Solas' gets new fans even so short before the release of the game.

Great. As long as he responds in kind, even if only slightly, it won't feel like the characters are throwing their bodies at him and begging for attention. I used Shepard/Jacob as an example, but I think the feeling I had was more for how the Shepard/Vega drunk coercion sex played out in the Citadel DLC. Blech. I want the romance option to show interest in my character, not sort of sigh and just give in. Flirting just a little bit at first, feeling things out? I'm good with that.

 

Maybe I worry too much, but Mass Effect did do a number on my nerves with some of these things.
