I really love how people are suddenly finding Solas interesting. It's true there wasn't much info to go on before, but he was largely dismissed for the bald and long johns. Now? It seems to be a lot of, "Eh he's not pretty but he sounds cool." It's awesome. I'll laugh if he turns out to be the best loved character of the game. It will be a happy laugh, but a laugh nonetheless.

 

I have this little feeling this is what is gonna happen. of course there is always Varric, but, who know?

For me there just wasn't enough information to go on. I'm not attracted to men physically so until I know something about their personality I can't make myself care about them. Although, I actually like his redesign. He's got a kitty nose. I'd like to boop it.

Yea!  I was assuming a snarky, unpleasant outside with a mushy-gushy interior.  I think it was Mary Kirby who said these food analogies might have gotten a bit out of hand?  We read too much into it.

For me there just wasn't enough information to go on. I'm not attracted to men physically so until I know something about their personality I can't make myself care about them. Although, I actually like his redesign. He's got a kitty nose. I'd like to boop it.

That's pretty much what I thought...Solas is the proof that personality is more important than looks!Although there are still those us who also love his looks  and find him attractive.

before we speculated he was a somniari, so he could interact with the fade, and could help us get out of it. But if he can only "see" the Fade, what if he only comunicate and help us giving instructions about what to do, and than, later in the game, he search for the inquisitor and his/her strange connection/power in the Fade and help?

Oooh, that would be awesome if Solas was doing his wandering in the Fade and actually saw our Inquisitor get pulled into the Fade, branded (or whatever happens), and then shoved back out!  He'd be all "Who was that man/woman?" only to find us later on.  Definitely lends itself to a dramatic first encounter.

As long as he didn't use the Fade to stalk our inq...No more stalky elves...of course, that chic(I can't recall her name atm) was made by Obsidian, not BioWare.

Personally,I'd this is one of my favourite theories about Solas(aside from the "ancient elf" one).Who knows he might have even contributed to the fact that the Inquisitor made it out of the fade alive.It would be such a plot-twist,everyone expects the first companion we meet in the game is Cassandra,but it turns out to be Solas.
