This game.. I have no words. It's constantly blowing my mind. The character creation is amazing and so advanced. The areas are HUGE but so pretty! Like completely stunning. And Solas.. oh Solas, he's wonderful. Even more awesome than I thought he was, he's so confident! I like it a lot!  And the flirts are so like, not weird at all! They're honestly really cute, I never expected them to be implemented so well! But enough of my excited screeching, here's my inquisitor, Syrie Lavellan! She turned out a lot different than I had in mind first but I love her

He says that he found out what the Dalish face tattoos really mean. They aren't worship of the elven Gods, they're ancient slave markings. I almost died laughing. LobselVith8 is gonna be so pissed.

I just watched the last Solas romance scene and I am laughing my ass off !

 

I am pro-Elven because I like the Theodosian elves but I was never pro-Dalish. After watching that scene with Solas I am so glad that I am pro-Elven or for The People but no pro-Dalish. 

 

I just want to see the look on the pro-Dalish after they hear that bombshell of a revelation..well two bombshell revelations...I am going to wait  for Lobsel and Xil to burst into righteous anger...

One bombshell comes from Solas and that is Vallaslin is the marking of slaves. Since we know Elven gods to be powerful beings as opposed to actual gods, that would mean that a specific Vallaslin is the marking of a slave in service to a particular powerful being regarded as Elven god.

 

The second bombshell comes from Abelas who said that it was not Tevinter who destroyed Elvhenan or Arlathan. Which then implies that Elvhenan or Arlathan must have been destroyed by the Elven slaves who now call themselves Dalish Elves, most probably with the help of ancient Tevinter.

 

Hahahahahaha....! This is why you should never be pro-any group. Pro-people, sure, but pro-group ? It never ends well.

After perusing the spoilers this morning, I think Solas has been demoted to "awesome friend" status with my Lavellan, despite the fact that I still find his character amazing. It isn't the lack of a sex scene, per se, it's that it all sounds rather abrupt and unfinished at the end. I though I could handle a more bittersweet romance ending, but this sounds like something I'd find more bitter than sweet.  Plus, it's been a rough fall and I'm craving something fluffier. This is why I LIKE the romance spoilers, actually...I want to make sure I'm going to feel like the investment of eleventy billion hours in a main character I care about won't just leave me sad. So no matter how nice those Fade kisses are, looks like Maia will be riding off into the sunset with Cullen, who has been making himself hard to resist anyway. *sigh* Oh well. There's always fanfic.

 

btw, your Thea is just gorgeous, Tamyn!

I think Solas is pulling a Morrigan here in that he breaks off and leaves after the battle in his mission to help The People. Most likely we will get a DLC, perhaps it will be called Wolf Hunt ? 

 

I just hope female Lavellan is not pregnant with some super powered Elven baby.

I thought I would like Solas but his methodical and pragmatic views actually fit with real life me. Cassandra was going to be my LI but that looks hard, I am pro mage, not very Chantry friendly, etc.. I might roll with this female and have her hook up with Sera or Solas.

That is incorrect. Josephine doesn't have an implied sex scene. Her writer Sylvia said that Josephine's romance was written to be ambiguous with how physical the relationship with the Inquisitor was so the player could imagine how they wanted the relationship to be. So one player can think a scene implies that they have sex while another player can imagine they are just going steady and get married before having sex, with both players' ideas being equally valid.

But, I think the lack of a concrete 'sex' scene at least implies that narratively, they aren't going to spring a demon baby on the Inquisitor. Which I am fine with. It at least implies his affections for her were real.

I'm going to say- even without having actually romanced him in game and only having watched the clips- the non-sex with Solas is pretty effing hot.

Yeah. Thankfully, we have rule 34 and fan fiction to take care of that. Josie is really popular on that front, she has been in plenty of smutty fan fiction and rule 34 art even before the game is released...The last time I checked, she has highest amount of smutty content depictions after Cullen. 

 

So even if there is no sex scene for Josie, I am not going to mind very much...

I'm going to have to write some fanfiction. I never do, but I am inspired. I'm annoyed he isn't into my human inquisitor so I'm going to make that happen in my head. lol. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving Cullen. His arc is great and I'm totally content with that romance, but I just can't stop thinking about Solas.

What's everyone's party looking like?

 

I switch it up a bit but right now I'm with Sera, Bull, and Solas. Yes, I heard some funny banter and that is why and no, I won't stop. lol

It's funny because usually- in the last two games anyway, I had a favorite party and I sort of just stuck with them the whole game unless I had to switch out for story reasons...but in this game, I find myself legitimately struggling with who I want to take- 

 

Dorian seems to be a staple for me, and then I'm taking Bull everywhere now because I want approval for his quest- and then I I go back and forth between rogues. Varric used to be a staple but I like Cole and Solas in a party, so if I take Solas I take Cole- but Sera reminds me of an old friend of mine so sometimes I take her for fun.  But Cassandra and Varric are hilarious. Like, once he tried to play I Spy when we were walking around and she's like NO.

I'm so torn.  I'm definitely going to romance him, because I love his character.  I just think it may get moved to my second (mage Lavellan) playthrough, flipping the order I'd initially intended.

 

I barely got to play yesterday (and Maker help me, my husband grabbed it last night and is making yet another irritating dwarf with an epic beard and zero social graces), so I don't have Bull yet, but what little I played I went with Cass, Vivi and Solas.  Vivienne is a badass in combat, and I love Indira Varma's voice work with her, it's perfect. I don't think we're going to agree on much, but still.  Hey, is anyone running with Blackwall? What's he like in party?  I picked him up yesterday, but I'm already fond of Cass and I couldn't bring myself to switch out.  I'm going to try to get Dorian today, I think he'll likely replace Vivi. I've loved everything I've seen of him.

 

I feel kind of bad about ditching Varric, but my preference is almost always two mages rather than a mage and an archer.  Solas is my barrier/freeze stuff guy, and I've got Vivi on "light everything on fire" duty.  Working well so far!

 

@Avajajed, I'm with you, it's genuinely hard to decide who to take!  And I normally roll with a favorite party too.

I been loving everyone's pictures of their elves. Its so neat to see how much variety there is!

 

Also I've been enjoying the solas romance quite a bit. Despite accidently spoiling myself when looking on the net for other info regarding companions and romance. Even so i'm still quite interested in his character and I look forward to the inevitable fan fiction. I've also been sorely tempted to make some fan art for the different characters in his game. A lot of them are really interesting.

 

Course I had something awful happen to my game. I logging in to play this morning only to discover I must have clicked something wrong with the cloud and lost all of my saves from last night!!!!! There goes some of my story progress and my first dragon kill ;-;.

I really hope there is a DLC like Morrigans...I mean he just leaves doesn't matter if your his friend or romantic with him also that romance doesn't feel complete. It all builds up into an Amazing Romance and then you just get dumped. *sighs*
