I'm spending a lot of time wandering the wilderness because I am afraid of getting to the ending.

Finally in the middle of Celene's ball now.

 

I find it interesting that my flirts with everybody have been cut off except for Cullen. I can try to initiate a romance with him anytime it seems, even though he says I am already involved with someone. It's nice that they left Cullen as sort of a "back door" in case you miss all your chances with everyone else.

Whew! Where to start? Welp, after my first run in you-know-who-mr-bad-guy and what happened at Haven, I've been really pleased with how much we've seen of Solas!

 

My commentary up to the first romance scene in Skyhold and the little talk after, is as follows.. (haven't played after this point)

"Okay, so um... Haven is no more. What now? Skyhold!?"

Giselle starts singing, Leliana joins in. Typical.

"Are they seriously all singing. Even Cullen? Wtf is happening?"

Solas looks at my Lavellan in the distance. Approaches from behind and is like "a word?"

Queue squeeing and fangirling and hyperventilating. He sounded so sexy when he said it.

"Yes, you can have a word, Solas. And then some!"

They're talking about the elder one and his shiny elven orb. I like when they talk about elfy stuff.

Then there's the beautiful cutscene. Solas' sexy voice in the background. Mmmm!

He's following my quisi up the mountain, like he's escorting her. My headcannon is that the entire trip they've been side by side talking about the fade, spirits, the breach etc

 

"Yay, Skyhold! Okay, now where's Solas?"

I spend about 30 minutes running around getting lost before finding Solas.

"Finally! New dialogue! OMG CUTSCENE!"

"Wait, what? We're back in Haven? Well, okay then."

"Aww he watched me sleep and nursed me. Adorable."

They walk back outside. Solas starts sounding like he's admitting feelings of some sort. Lavellan goes in for the kill.

"AHHHH he went for a second kiss! dsdasdsfr4gdgdf"

"Wake up!?"

Then I almost died because Solas just took her to the freaking fade! And they kissed! In the freaking fade! As she was sleeping! That was so perfect.

 

"Solas better have something to say about this now"

RUNRUNRUNRUN.

Queue cute awkwardness between the two. Awwwwww..

Just as I expected.

 

Ha ha! It's nice to see other's reactions. I had a very similar internal monologue myself. I hope you enjoy the rest of the romance/game

Me too! But from what I can gather, it's not going to be a happy ending. I haven't read any spoilers but the general tone is very sad? :'(

To me, that's part of the reason it is very appealing.

edit: It just let me log back into the keep and the launcher is working for me again. how about yours?

 

My Origin can't access the server so I can't download my DLC (that I completely ignored at first, thinking it would automatically be installed, haha). But at least I can play the game still for some reason.

Which is not to say the others aren't fantastic, because from what I've seen they most certainly are, but the reality of Solas's romance and that "oh sh1t!" moment at the end is just in a league of it's own.

Agreed. At first I regretted picking him as my first romance but now I don't want it any other way.

It's the same for me. My first playthrough is going to be scrapped like all the others that came before it - as it's pretty much OMG WHAT AM I DOING, OH LOOK SHINY STORY MISSION - but my canon playthrough which I'll be doing later once some DLC is announced can't go forward without this romance. Much like how many people can't see their games without Morrigan after experiencing the Dark Ritual and Witch Hunt - I can't imagine my canon playthrough without Solas and the repercussions of his romance.

I'm trying SO HARD right now to get into this human rogue I made to romance Cullen, and I'm having such a hard time with it. It just felt like the Dalish fit into the story so well, and same with the Solas romance...

Despite it all. Also: I've elected "Almost Lover" as the theme song for mine (aka my "listen on repeat and deal with my feels" song). I thought the "my back is turned on you" was even a nice little touch because Dread Wolf, haha. *sob*

I just came in here to say first ....

I am a dwarf fan. They're my favorite race and I had full intention on being a dwarf first , even started creating her but something changed my mind and I made an elf . I went through the game and now I am so glad I played it as an elf, romancing Solas ..... Everything went so beautifully done I am so touched and invested just.. Gah .

Solas has easily in one playthrough became one of my top three DA characters . Morrigan and Solas are characters that simply can by be touched in my eyes when it comes to characters that I loved and felt a true emotional attachment to for reasons of my own.

I'm so happy he was made a romance and that he was even written as the character he is.

I wish I had more likes for all of these posts.

 

I kind of agree about it seeming like Cole wants to help his parents. Solas takes a very fatherly role with Cole during most of their conversations. It's super sweet.

 

I also agree that Solas has the most dramatic, and game changing romance in the game. I'm going to have such a hard time playing anything other than a female elf again. And when I'm playing other Inquisitors, I will stare moodily across the screen at him.

 

Honestly, if there ever was only one romance in the game, I would want it to be Solas's. It hit me right in the feels. Over. And Over. And OVER. My fiance is getting a little concerned about me.

 

Not that I don't appreciate the other romances, but his ties into the story and plot so closely that it would be weird for him not to be romanceable. With that said, as soon as I'm done with Eleri Lavellan, I'm going to go do a fluffier romance, and cry every time I see Solas.

 

I bet Mr.Weekes has a mug of fangirl tears somewhere. Or a collection of mugs of fangirl tears.

I think I can only roll a female elf from now on bc of Solas but at the same time, I love my Natalie Lavellan so much that doing his romance with any other elf feels like it'll ruin it because it's so sacred to me They belong together and although any and all Inquisitor's in my game will be mine...it's hard to even put aside what went between them for me. I'm also extremely attached to my OC bahaha

They probably taste like victory to him. One of my favorite videos on youtube was of how the voice actor for Hughes from the english adaptation of Full Metal Alchemist was THRILLED to hear that he made people cry with his performance, it actually made him feel better about not being able to play the character anymore. I imagine Mr. Weekes might be the same... The sadist... (I kid, we love you Mr. Weekes!)

 

It's the same for me, though he pushed out Merrill and a few other characters instead. I love this cast so much, and while Solas now has the top spot the rest have all taken their places in my top tens for one reason or another. Except Sera... Though her last few missions took her out of 'omg please stop talking' to 'you're alright, let's get better cookies'.

I finally decided on my world state for my second playthrough, with Enansal Lavallen, my dalish mage. Took me a while as I have quite a few world states, but I did find one that I liked so yay
