I am
dying to see where it's going. Solas is a fascinating and amazingly well-written character, and I hope that the pay off for having a re-tread of Corypheus (I actually thought Samson was a more interesting antagonist...Samson!) is something that lives up to the promise of that last scene.
Which, if I interpreted correctly, Flemeth gave herself up to him willingly, right? I though he was supposed to have killed her, but it seems like she sacrificed her own power (and Urthemiel's) so he would be strong enough to do...whatever it is he needs to do. If that's so, the Inquisitor pretty much has to be the only DA protagonist from here on out- without Flemeth around to save them/help them win, the heroes of Thedas will be mostly SOL. Or maybe that was Fen'harel's plan all along...
As for the romance- I think it was nicely done (I loved the framing of the scenes and, again, Solas is just so well written). However, I don't think I connected to him as a love interest as much as I thought that he was a fascinating enigma. That might be my own fault for being spoiled, but the distance at which he held himself made it hard for me to connect to their relationship the way I was connecting to my Inquisitor's relationships with other companions and advisers. I'll probably replay my Lavellan at some point in the future, but for now I am glad to set her aside and see how things progress in a playthrough without the romance.
