Why do people think it's so strange to have the Inquisitor return in a future game? Mass Effect did it with Shepard across 3 games, who got returning companions and new ones. I am aware DA was never meant to be a trilogy or anything of the sort but it's really not that far fetched. I'd prefer DLC or an expansion myself(because that means it'd come out sooner) but I still don't see it as being something that definitely can't happen. Unlikely, sure. But it's not something impossible.

This game's epilogue is shorter than either of its predecessors. Aside from whomever ends up the divine and the post-epilogue clip we really don't know what the main characters and the inquisition ended up doing. Do we stick around for long?  does the inquisition just abandon? what happens to the inquisitor? what of the companions? (this one may be because my first play was a rushed one though, and i'll find out in pre-epilogue/post-corypheus victory dialogues, however even cole whom was more spirit like in my game mentioned he was going to stick around for a while.) We got information on what our warden did (or didn't do if they died), and what hawke did for a time at least, but not our inquisitor. Josephine mentions a lot of nobles want to meet us now but is that all we do? bounce around from place to place meeting nobles until we die of boredom? I'm not expecting all the answers now, as we didn't get a definitive answer on Hawke or the (living) warden until now, but I was expecting more explanation that we got. We didn't die, or wander off, or continue on warden business or become a ruler. We didn't get exiled from a city or become a viscount, and we can still explore the world after the storyline is complete.

 

It just feels like there wasn't a real ending in the sense that they left it too open, and with a cliff hanger about Solas (and Flemeth technically). yes, a dlc could perhaps resolve that in a way that doesn't feel like a cliffhanger, but we don't know how much or little of a story there is behind that clip. Would I like there to be another game with the inquisitor? yes. it feels like their story isn't as complete as the previous heroes.

 

am I saying it's likely? No. I've mentioned it as an unlikely possibility and a personal preference.

 

Would I be content with dlc explaining solas' cliffhanger? probably. maybe. It really depends on how it is done.

 

but am I content with the ending as it is? No. there are way too many questions left there and if they are indeed planning on moving to another area of the world in future games then it's unlikely we'll get any definitive answers in a future game which is, in part, why I think there should have been more answers now.

Um shorter then DA2? What? You didn't even bloody know what your companions in DA2 where going to do unlike DAI and DAO and DAI explained key parts that would change southern Thedas for good. For me the ending of the main story was fulfilling and it's building up to a new story in the epilogue.

Kind of a side note from the main posts going on, and maybe it's been said or mentioned (reading 884 pages of posts isn't within my time limit)... but I looked at Solas' token, and I do know there's been mention of it being a halla's jaw.

 

I don't think it's a halla's jaw, for two reasons: one, hallas are revered by the Dalish, and we know how Solas perceives their activities and beliefs, and two, the lower mandible has a very pronounced fang. This is speculation, but it would make sense if his token were from a wolf, or related to a wolf.

 

It's definitely a wolf jawbone. A fan from this thread got that confirmed with a dev at a convention a while ago.

 

I was the one that initially hypothesized it might be a halla jawbone based on a pretty dark, somewhat-obscured old screenshot. The fang was hidden, so at the time the jawbone looked like it resembled that of a cow or deer in the real world and - given the halla is significant to the Dalish - I had guessed that it may be related to them.

God, yes, a hug option was needed so badly!

 

Gareth really nailed the voice-acting there. From his initial horrified gasp to his cries to his "Shut. UP!" and everything in between, it gutted me. Simply gutted me. Like, I actually felt a bit nauseous sick with empathy for him.

 

John Epp (not to be confused with John Epler, cinematic designer for Bull) was phenomenal with crafting his facial expressions and body language, too. That was just an amazing quest.

After playing though the game, the amount of foreshadowing with Solas is amazing.

If you ask Blackwall what he thinks of Solas, he mentioned that you shouldn't play Wicked Grace with him and that he lost his shirt to Solas after teaching him how to play the game.

Also if you have Solas and Sera in your party one of the banters between them has Solas discussing tactics that would make the Friends of Red Jenny much more effective in pulling pranks.

I managed to run home at lunch and grab this. I've marked some landmarks to help show where it is in relation to the Dalish camp and the camp you start the whole area at, as well as pointing to the place where you can cross/hop the river rocks and get there. Trust me, there is no other point along that path you can do so (unless there's a back entrance; I haven't explored the whole map yet)... almost tore my hair out trying to find a way to get back there.

I´m pretty sure I found the schematics for that armor at the merchant at the hissing wastes, but it´s really really expensive

I also chose for Solas to back down, but not because I'm nice... I thought maybe Solas could teach them why they'd done wrong, and what they should do next time... and if they'd fail then, their blood is all his. I wanted them to have a chance to redeem themselves, especially in their ignorance.

I also didn't want Solas to give up part of his humanity.

Those Kirkwall mages definitely fall into the "too stupid to live" category, but I stopped him from killing them. It was interesting to see him so enraged. There's a passionate side you wouldn't expect from his cool demeanor. It has interesting parallels to Cole's quest.

 

Normally, I play my characters very considerate and sweet - thinking that everything can be forgiven, everyone redeemed. Although, for some reason in Inquisition my little Dalish let her companions do what they felt they needed with no regrets.

She definitely felt Solas needed to kill those mages. It still wasn't as brutal as what she let Sera do on her personal quest. Whoa damn, wasn't expecting that. But for Cole, he needed to remain a spirit of compassion, so they stopped him.

I have and urgent question. So far I started the romance with solas and had a kiss with him in the first scene, after that I finished his personal quest (saved his friend) Then I got his second romance scene BUT he only tells me in the end of the conversation that he respects me ... I am really confused ... the only other person I flirted with is cullen but nothing happend with him @.@

Speaking of Solas, there's a _very_ suspicious elf in the Masked Empire, who knows suspiciously much about elven culture and history, Fen'harel in particular. Felassan was his name(translates as "slow arrow", from one of the legends about Fen'harel). I say _was_, because he apparently died.

 

The Masked Empire happens before DAI. But it's really likely it could be the same person... has anyone heard any confirmation about this?
