Solas and Felassan aren't the same person.

The person who killed Felassan was either Solas/Fen'Heral himself, or an unknown third entity. Both are equally possible. I'm honestly not sure which, but given the fact that the eluvian password is Fen'Heral's name, and that Solas already has a mortal body to move around with, I am guessing there's a third person who was Felassan's master.

The ballroom dance one... Wicked Hearts and Wicked Games, or some such name like that. When you've settled things and are out on the balcony, he'll ask for a dance.

 

 

Speaking of Solas, there's a _very_ suspicious elf in the Masked Empire, who knows suspiciously much about elven culture and history, Fen'harel in particular. Felassan was his name(translates as "slow arrow", from one of the legends about Fen'harel). I say _was_, because he apparently died.

 

The Masked Empire happens before DAI. But it's really likely it could be the same person... has anyone heard any confirmation about this?

Im making reference to the dance at the end of the Orleasian ball. It might be a universal thing for all love interests that go (im not sure), but it was still so cute.

The dance was nice, but I went back to see what happened if you said you just wanted him to keep you company and the scene fades out with him and the Inquisitor entwined on the balcony looking out, that's pretty cute.

During his personal quest when you are to try and save his spirit friend that the mages summoned and then bound. It occurs when you first arrive on the scene and he confronts the mages.

definitely, although from what i've seen around the forums everyone could use just a tad more romance. 

I almost feel bad for him this play though, My dalish elf is the flirty and smug sort. He's going to have half the men and women at camp jealous of him (and then really angry at him) by the end of it, although I think my approval will take a few hits. Except with Dorian.

But its a good set up for running through all the romances without having to replay haven over and over again. Not that I dislike haven, but I've scrapped so many characters during the first few hours because I've decided they don't quite look right in comparison to the character creator, that its getting a bit repetitive.

Felassan was killed for helping Briala (thus betraying his master) with the Eluvians. I hear Solas doesn't approve if the Inquisitor sides with Briala(?? at some point. I'm not that far in the game yet so I have no idea what I'm talking about LOL). I suppose if Solas doesn't trust mortal elves to do "his" job... aka, helping the People... then he'd definitely have sufficient motivation for killing Felassan, or anyone else who put his plans in jeopardy.

Not that I think Solas is super ruthless or anything, but we've seen the guy light people on fire for something they didn't even know was wrong... he is Scotch bonnet candy, after all.

Does anyone had the second romance scene at the balcony without the kiss at the end? I am not sure if I screwed up or not with solas :/ I am playing a female elf btw and had the kiss in the first scene

Yeah, I've heard him approving of Briala.

I don't doubt Solas is capable of killing someone who might be in his way, but it does seem to be slanting more towards someone else who killed Felassan.

So, some more questions - interested on what peoples' opinions are on these things and if we have any kind of consensus lol!

- Were the elven gods truly gods, something else, or simply ancient elves (thus they'd still be immortal) that had a lot of power, like mages or a powerful noble?

 

- Is Solas truly Fen'Harel or is it a bit more complicated than that - e.g. is it like is with Flemeth, where she was someone before, and the spirit of Mythal came to her and she's carried it with her since?

 

- What did Solas do and what was and is he trying to do? What's his future plans/agenda?

 

- What happened in the postcredits scene? Did Flemeth possess Solas or did Solas kill and "drain" Flemeth?

Here's what I think I think.

The elven gods weren't truly gods. They ruled over their subjects/worshippers/slaves in a not-great way - Creators and Forgotten Ones alike - and Solas alone out of the "gods" (imagine inverted commas at every other mention of gods for the rest of this lol) didn't approve of or appreciate it. He wanted the People to be free from tyrants essentially. He thought he had a good idea and the only way - tricking both sides of gods and sealing them away (in a realm beyond, reached by Eluvians) - all but Mythal, for some reason. So he did it and then fell into slumber, probably because he was sad about being alone.

 

Long after, he woke up from uthenera. He saw how the elves are living now thanks to having lost their Creators - enslaved in Tevinter, subjugated in alienages, disliked by humans, or wandering the wilds as but shadows of their former glory, clinging to scraps of the past and mistaken information. Thanks to what he's done they've lost virtually everything, their history, their power, their culture. He regrets sorely what he did.

 

Morrigan tells us the Eluvians can be opened/locked from both sides and each has a key, correct? The elven orb was the key to the Eluvian in which Solas sealed the gods away. When he woke up and saw what his actions had done to the elves, he resolved to fix his mistake and release the gods. But he didn't have enough power to activate the orb and so he gave it to Cory, because he had enough power to use it. This as we know inadvertently caused the explosion.

 

It's kind of ironic because Cory too awoke from slumber and found the world gone awry.

 

Solas joins the Inquisition to fix this mistake. They do- they seal the Breach and defeat Cory. But the orb lies broken and Solas is distraught because it's the key to releasing the others.

 

He returns to Mythal. He should pay the price for his mistakes, and/or the "price" of what will be needed now to open the Eluvian - sacrifice of a being of great power perhaps? His intentions now are to find another way to carry out his plans of unleashing the gods again.

 

I'm not clear on what happens in the final scene. Either Flemeth is sorry because of what she's about to do him - possess his body - or he's sorry for failing and for what HE'S about to do which is kill Flemeth and take her power. This power will help him in his quest to unleash the gods.

I personally think it was either  Cory or one of Corys demons(Envy or Fear) who killed Felsassan. Cory did have interest in lots of elven magic and the eluvians might have been his first choice until he failed to get the password so he moved to plan B, Solas's orb.

Maybe there might be a DLC surrounding his character, Leliana did say she would try to find him if you let her.. ugh, I knew that Solas' romance would probably end this way..But I did really like this romance, it was very romantic and tragic at the same time..nothing that the other companions had.
