Guys, I have a quick question: I was under the impression bioware had brought back the 'kiss your LI whenever you want' thing (at least at Skyhold), and while I was romancing Cullen this seemed to be the case, but not with Solas. I know people have said he doesn't seem to have as much content generally as other characters, but since he was added at the same time as Cullen as LI not being able to randomly kiss him seems really unfair. Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything--I think he's the only one without that option (though I'm not 100% positive; there could be others as well).

Hey cool cats here in the Solas thread! I have a question. I've been looking for the answer on the web, but I'm trying to avoid any spoilers (I'm only halfway through the game, haven't even started Crestwood yet) so I figured I'd come ask you knowledgeable folks :3

I just got the dreaming scene in Haven, and was given my first opportunity to make a real move on Solas with that kiss. I was so flustered, as this was my first potential romance scene, I said "lol, WE'RE JUST FRIENDS". The thing is, I've been thinking about that scene a lot, and Solas in general. I'm thinking I might want to romance him after all, he's really great ;A; But... I'm worried I blew my one chance. Is it possible to still initiate the romance afterwards if I didn't take that kiss?

You're not missing anything--I think he's the only one without that option (though I'm not 100% positive; there could be others as well).

How long ago was it? If it wasn't too long ago, I'd reload and choose the kiss option, just to be safe. I'm honestly not sure if the romance can be started after that point. :S

not spirits, but ancient elves (therefore immortals as all ancient elves were) who had a lot of power. powerful nobles maybe, or mages. they had such power that they were regarded as having godlike status. or maybe they were never seen as truly godlike figures until the ancient elven society fell and the dalish started romanticizing and getting everything wrong.

My first Inquisitor is a Trevelyan but Solas is one of my favorite characters, so I am thinking of making a Lavellan but I am not sure if to make it male or female (to try the romance ofc) so I am wondering if you could help me? He gave the orb to Corypheus (it originally belonged to him, a sort of repository of power perhaps, he hints that each elven god had one) because he was too weak after waking up to open it himself. He hoped that Cory would open it for him. However Cory used it to try to get through the veil, and the Inquisitor interrupted the ritual, which caused the explosion.

After Solas awoke from sleeping for a really long time he did not have the power to open his orb. He gave it to Corypheous to open it. We're not sure why he chose to give it to him though. It might be because Corypheous lied about intentions, or he expected Corypheous to die as he opened it (the explosion at the temple of sacred ashes was because of the built up power unleashed when the orb was opened). But regardless, because he gave Corypheous the orb and Corypheous used it and caused the breach, Solas feels at blame.

If we get some DLC that explains more about the orb or Solas in the future we can probably piece together better answers but for now it's purposely ambiguous.

Did you guys know he only mentions the orb if you are an elf? Also, I assume if you have a high approval (but he probably does anyway). He said nothing to my human mage. I found this fascinating.

Let me load up my game and check, I finally found one that gave him that look and squeed in delight. I had been looking for a while. XD

Also, unrelated to that. I thought back today on how much I wasn't interest in Solas when we were first shown him, I was hoping he wouldn't "waste" a romance spot that another character could take. Silly me, not knowing how freaking OBSESSED with him I'd become. I wish he was real, despite not being an elf or a girl, I'd bug him all the time and annoy the crap out of him probably, hah. "Tell me more fade storiessss!" "Ugh."

I swear, I think one of my favorite lines of his is right from he beginning. The little chuckle he gives off if you ask if Varric is with the chantry just melts my heart. I feel like I need to say it again.

I let him kill them too. But I have seen if you save his friend and then tell him not to kill the mages he disapproves. In my guide it says regardless of what you do Solas leaves the party and then return to Skyhold to meet him at the front entrance.
