I'd laugh so hard if they release the romance statistics and Solas is up at the top because everyone who intended to romance Cullen / Sera / Josie / Blackwall fell for the bald nerd elf instead.

A strong showing definitely bodes well for future content! From what I've gathered, most non-romancers like or at least are curious about him as a character. 

 

I am not too surprised he is as popular as he is. If you were to make a fandom bingo card that listed traits people are likely to obsess over, I think he's hit pretty much all of the major ones.

I just didn't see him - he was just...there. And then he began to talk and it was over. Instant favourite and I won't ever regret it. I actually plan to roll another elf girl after my Taleyah that SHOULD fall for Cullen...but well, Sooooolasssss.

Mhm, all without needing to be conventionally attractive or even menacing to look at. He's just himself, with his jammies and bald head, and I can't help but adore them for leaving him the way he is instead of trying to make him an analogue of Fenris. Not that Fenris is bad by any means, he's Valen 2.0 so I do like him, but if they wanted easy numbers copying that sort of look would have been the way to go.

really, really  great romance. We got very lucky, as fans, and I thought it was sweet and romantic and all the things.

and he is my current playthrough and probably canon playthrough, but man, that Solas. I can't even handle it.

What cracks me up is that the two romances with the most ardent of fans were the ones that weren't even going to be included in the base game until they extended work for an extra year. I'm sure all the romanced are equally good and I personally am eager to start my playthroughs where I planned to romance Cassandra and Dorian, but I can't help but laugh at that.

Well to be fair people were fawning over Cullen since Origins. I'm pretty sure there was an official Cullen thread on a forum even back before DA2 was released.
 Not to mention the popularity of the Cullen kiss mod. xD

Same! The only romance I would have pursued as a female character would have been the Bull with a dwarf for the humour. And then I would have eternally rolled a male elf for Dorian and Josie. I'm so glad that we have Cullen and Solas!

That's part of the reason it cracks me up though, honestly. He was such a popular character and his romance was only added when they put more time into the project. It's like 'Ummm, you guys... There's a very vocal section of your fanbase that wants to have a word with you... Maybe you should listen to them?'. That and I'm glad in part the Cullenmancers were given their dues, after having my heart broken over Varric and Joker it's nice to see a fan favorite once again be added as a romance option due to popular support.

Yes, his voice acting is phenomenal. I was immediately drawn by his voice... I love that chuckle when you ask if Varric is part of the chantry.

Sorry, I just want to make so many parallels with Bigby from the Wolf Among Us.   I keep imagining Solas gaining back more of his power and being able to change into an enormous, powerful wolf just like that. And with three eyes, apparently. As much as I don't want him to be a villain, that would be one badass boss fight.
