I did a translation but it was kind of crap, I don't like it. XD A few folks here added their two cents... I'm trying to remember how far back that was...

I asked this question on Reddit and got two slightly different responses:

1. "there's multiple ways to translate 'enasalin', but I think the gist of it is 'Explain yourself, trickster. You show up out of nowhere when you're supposed to be dead.'
2. "The basic gist is that Nightmare is saying that Solas isn't what he appears to be, and that he should really be used to the people he loves dying."
3. But he literally calls him "Harellan" - Dread Wolf - and so I'm super surprised Lavellan's not like "uh could you explain that?"

Technically he says "Trickster" so I guess Lavellan could... kiiiinda be excused here, lol.

My best attempt is: "Tell me, Trickster. My empty one. Solas does not seem to exist/is dead." and Solas replies, "Nothing's inevitable."

Ya, the place i read the "translation" the "no longer is" was translated as "nothing"

Here's my reasoning behind that translation...

Dirth ma, Harellan. Tell me, Trickster.

Ma banal enasalin. [[Note: I’m taking enasalin to be a compound word- enasal (to be grateful for being able to withstand loss) and in (with or inside; dwell).]] So… my or me / nothing / grateful to be able to withstand loss / inside. [[Loneliness or emptiness? Unless “enasalin” is not enasal + in. It could be ena (emerge) + sal (gift) + in (inside). But then there’s “banal” or nothing, so…]]

Mar Solas ena mar din. [[I have no idea what “mar” is, unless it’s “you”. Ena is appear. Din is a negative… ooor means a dead person, someone who “is not”.]] Solas appears to be dead, or Solas doesn’t seem to exist.

"Tell me, Trickster. My empty one. Solas does not seem to exist/is dead."

And then Solas’s line, Banal nadas. "Nothing’s inevitable."

LOLWTF I give up. That second line is the worst - it could be read so many different ways! I probably totally missed the mark, but it’s pretty neat anyway.

He keeps trying to reassure Bull and at one point asks if he needs a distraction. His distraction is to start playing chess with words and without a board. He goads Bull into playing and Bull's like "alright, you little shi*t".

What does this mean?

Banalhan means the place of nothing, referring to the origin of the Blight. since "an" means place (see: Arlathan), I think "banal" means nothing.

 

Abelas means sorrow. Vhenan means heart. The paraphrase dialogue option for that line is "Your loss, *******!"[aggressive tone]

 

She's literally saying nothing sorrow nothing heart. Elven often doesn't translate directly (codex entry somewhere said so I think). With that in mind + the paraphrase, she's basically saying... "You're not sorry/I'm not sad, you have no heart/I'm not your heart!!!"

At first I wasn't sure what to make of Cole but near the end of my first play I started to really like his character, I'm glad I started to bring him around a lot. (I'm actually getting dialogue this game. last one I hardly got any.)

*Lol. Could you imagine if she would of said that. Awkward. I mean Merrill was shouting it as her battle cry. I'm surprised Lavellan never cursed it under her breath XD.

I should not have played that Fade scene so late at night. I can't remember the nightmare talking to Solas at all. 

Although, I do really hate the fade so I wasn't thrilled to be there anyway (and the ending made it the only part of the game I disliked. Eugh).

 

I did get hit hard in the feels when I saw what Solas's fear was though. 

 

Finally got all my stuff from Ps4 to USB. Aww yiss. I will make gifs happen throughout the week starting with this one. He walks like a catwalk model.
