It would be nice for there to have been more content but imo he has some of the deepest, most beautiful, best-written romance scenes in the game and yes it is absolutely worth doing, you see more about his nature, motivations, etc

So what's it like romancing Solas? Worth doing? I heard the content was a little thin compared to other romances. I have a world state in mind, but I'm not sure where I should put it in the priority list. And yes I know his secret.

It is lacking as in not as many scenes, sexy times and not being able to kiss anytime as all the others have. But it makes up for all that in story and raw emotion. Plus, the most passionate kiss scenes in the whole game. The romance is beyond beutiful and made me cry. I highly recommend. It's my favorite
Also, I'm hoping they're playing the long game and we get some extra scenes in a dlc. Rip my heart out bioware with a tragic love making fade scene before the inevitable doom.

Or a happy ending. Which ever

Seriously. That scene where he goes from smiling eyes to kicked puppy eyes...Who's in charge of those facial animations? 'Cause I want to shake that glorious motherfucker's hand.

 

Anyway, I say anyone reading who is debating trying a romance with him. DO EET! I seriously have a total of zero regrets about making him my first romance. No one can live up to that. Then again, I am a sucker for moving tales not fuzzy wuzzy cutie pie stuff.  *real talk*

Agreed 100%. Like I mentioned before, it moved me so much that I was practically catatonic and in tears for at least 2 hours after that scene. Hubby thought I'd gone bonkers. However, I do have saves before all the cutscenes so I've been repeatedly watching them. Not to say that Cullen lacked in depth. I loved his romance too.

This is the first time I post anything in a forum for a long time.
I became a huge Solas Fan, after first being so euphorised at Cullen being in DAI... then I met Solas and Cullen was... not that interesting anymore XD Actually it was the "wake up" scene which made me choosing otherwise.

And while reading all of your great posts I just got this picture in front of my inner sensible eye:
Imagine Lavellan chasing for Solas, still fight evil while looking for him. One time she is at some ruins, fighting some demons and suddenly they stand just some feet apart.Staring at each other...not saying a word...
;_; This image will be in my head forever. Just those feelings. just break down and cry.

And then people suggest that Flemeth could be in his body...then this scene could become extremely awkward Oo Just imagine Lavellan falling into his arms, really happy to see him, just hearing HER (Flemeth) voice (yeah, I guess it should be his nontheless), but that would be so DX

I am not sure if someone mentioned it already. But when they visit this elven temple after finding those glyphes, Solas says, how poor this man is that he was caged up there for so long by his people/students/whatever. Anything like that. And that reminds me of the Fen'Harel thing. Doing kind of the same thing.

I also have this other problem. When I heard Solas the first time speaking just thought, I KNOW this voice (in german) ... well after I almost went crazy because I couldn't remember from where it reminded me, I looked for it. *coughs* Well, it is the german voice of Merlin/Colin Morgan...and now...always when I DON'T look at him I see Merlin talking about spirits and things XD that is just soooo weird too. If my computer is able to handle Fraps AND the game, I totally will upload some videos on youtube. (but in german, there are already some good ones in english ^^)

Hey guys, so of topic question (I feel comfortable with you guys which is why I'm asking here).
I started a second play through and of course prior to this I went to the keep and chose a different Warden/Hawke world state. Unfortunately a couple hours in I went to speak with Varric about Hawke and he informed me that Carver was a Grey Warden...sorry Varric Carver is supposed to be looking dead in this play through. So yeah, it uploaded the wrong World State. Any idea what's up, or is there any nugging way to make sure I'm on the right world before I play a few hours in?!

Bumping this in case anybody else knows. I haven't really explored the Keep enough to say.

Quality over quantity. I think he has three romance scenes (four if you take him the masquerade), as opposed to Cullen's like...eight. But there is a ton of content about the Dalish and his motivations that you cannot get unless you romance him. And the romance is very, very well-written.

 

Plus the feels. The feels are huge. (That's my technical observation)

Cullen gets 8 romance scenes?!

 

That's, um, rather disappointing, I've gotta admit.   Is it to make up for Cullen not being a companion, or does everyone except Solas get that many?
