You can keep it! You get at least one comment related to having it at the end; the stuff about removed vallaslin isn't banter, it's just Sera and Josephine noticing that your face is missing tattoos now, really. And Sera being a jerk about it. I think Cole's banter with Solas might end up being different if you don't have it removed? Maybe? I don't know if anyone that has had it removed has gotten that banter, but I don't think it would just be cut out...

When the clan first approaches you, send Leliana. When the clan later needs protection from bandits, send Cullen. If you send either leli or Josephine for the second mission then the clan will end up scattered and dead.

 

Also I just got a banter with Dorian and Solas COMPLETELY NERDING OUT. Over magic. It was amazing.

I sent Leliana the first time to let them know the Inquisitor was safe. I sent Cullen the second time to protect from bandits. Now I have a third choice of restoring order and I'm not sure what the outcome will be, but I sent Leliana. I'll be so pissed if I killed the clan.

 

I really should have just run through this to get the story done, and then started a new game to do everything nice and slow to be complete. Except I failed at not doing all the things to start, and the idea of having to run around all over for crap on the map again is making me have flashbacks to the Mako days... Ah, well.

I have this impression that my Inquisitor has been accused of being half mountain goat in parentage because I have no patience to find the correct way around to get up or down. I'm also fairly certain that her companions get really nervous when they are on cliffs or things, because I have more than once just randomly stopped short of falling over the edge and to my death. They'd be all, "INQUISITOR!" and she'd be all, "...what?" When wanting to get down, I will sometimes half-slide, half fall. Meanwhile my companions are running around from the real way down, and she'd be waving at them saying "I found a quicker way!"

 

I have never once gone to the Undercroft and used the stairs. I just jump down. I have jumped from ramparts to roof. There is nowhere my Inquisitor will not try to go. I can't imagine how many broken arms and sprained ankles she must have had by now.

 

Have I mentioned that the Tempest spec really fits her?

As per your request, I have made a thorough examination of the fresco adorning the Rotunda. I first attempted to clarify its intent with Messere Solas. Forgive me, I know he is not titled within the structure of the Inquisition, but the more I learn of his experience, the more awkward I feel not using a formal honorific.

 

On the mural, all Messere would say is, "Skyhold is her fortress" (meaning of course the Inquisitor). "These are her actions". He is, of course, correct; the subject of each addition is self-evident.

 

On the medium and method, it is Elven fresco, pigment and plaster, and it is grand. I have rarely been privileged to observe such skill as it is applied. It is considered, with long periods of study before the image emerges, whole cloth and with certainty. It speaks of how I imagine Elves view the world, and the measured nature of their step.

 

I should expect such competence from Messere, given his probable years of study, but it is still an amazing work, demonstrating an art with few living practitioners, even among the Dalish.

So I was looking through some screenshots and I can't help wonder what Solas means whenever he talks about "his People".

He seems to flipflop between calling the modern elves his/our people and then sometimes deying it. The first is when you fight about the dalish, he says "Our people. You use that phrase so casually. It should mean more... but the Dalish have forgotten that."

 

After siding with Briala he very specifically denies them being his people, quote from Alucardex in another thread:

"I hope Briala is able to use her position to help your people"

"How would helping Briala help... Oh you mean the elves! I'm sorry, I was confused. I do not consider myself to have much in common with the elves."

"Who do you have much in common with? Who are your people?"

"I joined the Inquisition to save the world. Regardless of who "my people" are, this was the best way to help them"

 

But there's the discussion after escaping Haven where he several times groups himself and the inquisitor as being the same people, he has several phrases:

"one of our people", about the orb "It is ours." and finally "when they learn the orb is of our people."

 

Does he only use the "our people" phrasing with the inquisitor? Or does he make some distinction between The People and just our people?

 

Also, I remembered being pretty surprised (and pleased ) with how quickly he calls you lethallin.

I'm going to attempt to write something later but I'm worried about Solas' dialogue, he has a very changeable personality (at least to me) and style of talking that's hard to recreate. Path of the Dreamwalker is great btw.
