I just finished my first playthrough yesterday, and somehow missed all the romances, and now I'm trying to decided who to go for on my second try. I wanted to romance Solas, originally, but now that I know all this stuff about him, I think I'd like my Inquisitor to end up with someone less heartbreaking. But if there's a way to get two romances (like you could in Origins), that would be ideal.

I think you can romance Cullen, not sure, I got the prompt but couldn't make my quizzy abandon her baldie smexy elf

Cullen also requires you to not romance anyone else. So I assume they have that hook in to make sure you are intending to go forward with Cullen, even though you have engaged the romance plot flags with Solas.

Well its been said wolves mate for life!

I like to think, while highly unlikely, that Lavellan is the first person or mortal Solas has fallen for. Since he said he's been asleep for quite some time, maybe even right after the fall of the elven gods? Its just so sweet to think of eachother being their 'firsts' since I know my Varlaina at least had never been with anyone yet, since I'm not sure if keepers are allowed bondmates? While I remember that Mahariel's father was a keeper, he had her with another clan's hunter. 

I just love toying with the ideas of my two adorable dorks figuring everything out together. ;D

Ooh, interesting! It's unfortunate that you'd have to dump Solas for no good reason before that locking-in scene, though (I don't know if "I just like Cullen better" counts as a good enough reason )

I might be a tad obsessed.

 

..but come on, that scene when you find Skyhold is totes worth watching a hundred times, gave me chills, man.

Hello, fellow Solasmancers  

 

I've been a lurker here for some time now,  while not active on the Forums since DAII.

I've started reading this thread more since finishing the game, for obvious reasons. As so many others, looking for comfort, consolation or the tiniest sliver of hope.

 

I've been intrigued by Solas since the first information about him was released. I've always had a thing for wise-cracking, middle-aged elven gentlemen, apparently (rooting for Sand in Neverwinter Nights 2 and developed an unhealthy obsession over first enchanter Orsino, starting the first forum thread about him).

 

Solas sounded fantastic and I, for one, praised his bald head but didn't expect him to actually be romanceable until the official announcement. Suffice to say, I was overjoyed. The romance in the game was beautiful and I share more traits with the character than I expected After the recent tweets I'm more hopeful for the future, but it was reading this thread that helped me get over some of the heartache. I'm planning my second playthrough right now and I'm finding it impossible to dive into any of the other romances. I guess it's Solas for life...

 

Thank you all for being here and easing the pain. We're in this together and together we can make it until this is resolved!

I don't think any of us were prepared for falling head over heels for him. e-e and yes @dragonette, everyone was commenting on how feline he looked when he ah, emulated a more canine animal, hah. I adore his necklace and was kind of sad we weren't able to give him a gift like I heard you could with other romances. 

I think I would have died if he had given her his wolf jaw necklace.... WHICH I HAVE NOW ADDED TO MY HEADCANON THAT HE DOES.

 

So how is all my American buddies Thanksgiving? Its also my bday so I'm going to forgo working on my paper and write some more fanfic and get it posted. :I Who needs to worry about school? Solas is love, Solas is life! \0A0/

There should be a separate achievement for finishing the Solas romance with that name.

I don't believe it is about Solas. Cole's greeting dialogues [all?] seem to be references to movies. On reddit, that line about shadows is marked as being from the Matrix, possibly.

 

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if they mixed in spoilers to the game AND spoilers to films.
