Did anyone else feel like some of the dialog with Solas implies that he and the Inquisitor (if romanced) had slept together? Even though you never see that happen?

After the first kiss, the Inquisitor can say "When I asked to talk to you, I didn't think we'd be doing it in the Fade. Or for that matter...doing it in the fade." And then After the Temple of Mythal, before he dumps you, if you choose the "good luck kiss" dialog, Solas will say "I am grim and fatalistic. Getting you into bed is just an enjoyable side benefit."

 

When I heard those dialogs, I was just confused.

I think the point is that it is implied, but not shown so the truth is up to your imagination, especially with certain revelations later on.

Sera will comment on it and you can join in the banter between her and Solas, Cole will comment on it after the final romance scene. If you have high approval with Vivienne she'll make a comment on it when you ask what she thinks of your allies. Not sure about anyone else yet, my first game didn't trigger more than 5 or 6 dialogues but my current play seems to trigger a lot. (but I'm only 60% of the way through the game as its my completionist play.

Lavellan is left without a clan, everything she believed in was a lie (depending on how you play. My Lavellan DID believe), and the man she loves just leaves her without a word of explaination after telling her he loves her - and all that right before she has to face a godlike enemy that will ruin the whole world if she fails.

Break Her Heart To Save Her: He breaks up with the Inquisitor at the end of their romance. The reason for this is not their unequal pairing as a god and a mortal, but rather the fact that part of his purpose is freeing mortals from the dominion of gods of any kind. Staying in a relationship with the Inquisitor would bind her to him, robbing her of her freedom, and he sees her freedom as the greatest gift he can give her. Even if this means he loses her forever.

I...had not heard that interpretation before. I'm just gonna go...curl up and cry now.   But in a good way.

He values freedom over everything, and he probably thinks that staying with the inquisitor will a] put her in danger, and b] tie her to a lonely, painful path that she doesn't even know about. He feels like he's made his bed and has to sleep in it, but that doesn't mean that he has to drag her down with him.

 

And now for something lighter:

 

"Sweet Tooth: Unlike Blackwall, he enjoys the little cakes sold in the Orlesian marketplace"

 

Is this a banter you get in Val Royeaux?! I've never gotten any banter there, but holy **** that is adorable.

 

New headcanon: he can only stand to drink tea at all after he puts in like 5 lumps of sugar.

Yep, my Inquisitor was in the same boat. Which is why I feel like Bioware should have given us all "lost all hope" dialog options. Cos she sounded way too happy for what she should be feeling. Add in that she can't even look at her own face ever again without thinking about it.

Removing her vallaslin and thus making it near impossible for her to go back to her clan and then dumping her is SURELY the best option to make sure she survives fighting her toughest fight in her life. Not to mention that she will have to look at her face every once and again. Oh and she will probably link dreaming in general to your ancient ass!

After that conversation, I was in shock and so I looked up whether I did something wrong and whether I can salvage the relationship.  I can't finish the game.  I am SO pissed off right now  -- never did I think they'd pull another Alistair.  Yes, I know the story and how it relates, but give us something!  Bah.  I sure hope the Cullen romance is better.  And no, I don't want to be spoiled about that unless it's going to make me fly into another rage.

"Okay so this is possibly the shittiest picture ever, but can we talk about how ****** much this KILLS me?

 

Solas must be so, so painfully lonely. He feels he can’t speak the truth to anyone. He has to be extremely cautious about everything he says and does, lest someone find out the things he’s hiding. To be holding so much pain and regret inside himself with no outlet must be absolutely excruciating, and yet he continues to hold his burdens alone even when surrounded by others.

 

And then what happens? He loses one of the few good friends he has to the ignorance of some uninformed mages, dabbling in things they can’t begin to understand. When he returns to Skyhold afterward, he mentions to a romanced Lavellan that he’s become so accustomed to dealing with everything on his own that he’s forgotten how to confide in someone else.

 

Cole speaks with him during party banter about how there is still happiness to be found despite his past, which obviously means that poor Solas believes otherwise. Even the Dalish, the ones who are supposed to have preserved the heritage of Solas’s people, have it all wrong. The bitterness he feels toward them is palpable.

 

When Lavellan turns out to be someone he can rely on, someone he genuinely respects, he’s absolutely astonished. For the first time in who knows how long, he begins to believe that perhaps not all is lost… and then he loses even her, forging onward to do what he believes is right despite how much it hurts.

 

I mean come ON, BioWare. My ****** heart."
