As I said, I never got any of that, since I apparently picked the wrong responses.  

 

I picked the first one the first time I played. The other one, it wasn't until like, the 3rd time I went back and replayed that scene that I tried the other dialog.

It was in the banter when Solas asks Cole whether he's ever felt anything like that since he's left the Fade.

And that's another reason I feel so jilted with the lack of romance in my game.    One shouldn't have to do that to understand what truly happened between them, in my opinion.

I just assumed they were talking about the banter where Solas and Cole are talking about women, where Solas asks if Cole has had any interest in women since coming through the veil. To which Cole says no. Is there another banter where they talk about Cole's interest in women?

Whoa wait it is????? I never knew that! I haven't seen an episode of Merlin in so long I didn't remember what he sounded like!

Yeah well, I knew this voice, but I couldn't really remember so... but now, that I know it... XD I am not sure if it was a good idea. but the voice actor has such a nice soft voice. There are some really great and well known german voice actors in DAI. I also know Dorians voice from somewhere...or Viviennes. It is incredible.

"Okay so this is possibly the shittiest picture ever, but can we talk about how ****** much this KILLS me?

 

Solas must be so, so painfully lonely. He feels he can’t speak the truth to anyone. He has to be extremely cautious about everything he says and does, lest someone find out the things he’s hiding. To be holding so much pain and regret inside himself with no outlet must be absolutely excruciating, and yet he continues to hold his burdens alone even when surrounded by others.

 

And then what happens? He loses one of the few good friends he has to the ignorance of some uninformed mages, dabbling in things they can’t begin to understand. When he returns to Skyhold afterward, he mentions to a romanced Lavellan that he’s become so accustomed to dealing with everything on his own that he’s forgotten how to confide in someone else.

 

Cole speaks with him during party banter about how there is still happiness to be found despite his past, which obviously means that poor Solas believes otherwise. Even the Dalish, the ones who are supposed to have preserved the heritage of Solas’s people, have it all wrong. The bitterness he feels toward them is palpable.

 

When Lavellan turns out to be someone he can rely on, someone he genuinely respects, he’s absolutely astonished. For the first time in who knows how long, he begins to believe that perhaps not all is lost… and then he loses even her, forging onward to do what he believes is right despite how much it hurts.

 

I mean come ON, BioWare. My ****** heart."

 

Seeing the tombstone for the first time was like a punch in the guts And thinking about it after finishing the game, knowing what we know, was just too much. This person puts it really well

I think the problem here is that some of the writers might have felt any explicit scene would have felt... Forced to some people. Rape-ish to some others. Not only is Solas lying about who he is, he's also deceiving Lavellan into believing the relationship will work even though he most likely knows deep down that it will not end well. Which I can't really blame them for if that was their thought process, if you just hear the particulars as opposed to experiencing the entire romance it could have come off as if he only wanted to get into her pants and then leave her high and dry. We all know that isn't the case, but people have made worse logical leaps before. So I don't blame them for only hinting at an intimate scene.

 

What I'm still a little miffed by is that they didn't have more non-intimate scenes, or were they worried they'd tip their hand too early if they did? I don't know, but I wish he had at least one or two more. ):

It makes me wonder if Solas tried to help in the past and all the Dalish painted him as an evil entity for it. Hates the attributes of wisdom and kindness above all else...? Um.... *pokes the squishy Solas who bleeds approval if you ask questions or are kind to others*

I exhausted all his dialogue in Haven and never got it. Eek. Backtrack to Haven I go.

huh. thank you. I was actually aware of that dialogue - I don't think it's referring to Solas wanting a woman though...? It sounds like they're referring to a demon or spirit that possessed someone that they just defeated or? Am I mishearing/misunderstanding?

Hmm, couldn't remember how the quest is given and found this on the net:

"triggered by entering the Hinterlands with Solas. As you go northeast of the crossroads, Solas will tell you that an artifact is nearby."

Maybe you need to be at that specific place to get it?

Except he repeatedly hints (in various ways) that he doesn't think that it's a good idea. Lavellan has to push the issue.

The one thing that gets me is the dread wolf is a trickster. A trickster, playful, a good liar, these things kind of haunt me. I'm not doubting he didn't care, it's evident he loves her very very much but...somethings off.

I got this dialogue after Solas' spirit quest.  Cole is talking about that.  See, this dialogue had me convinced that Solas is a spirit, and I was prepared for that.  I was not prepared for a drop kick in the gut.

In another dialogue he tells Cole he isn't a spirit. I don't think he is a spirit.

 

cole: you dont need to envy me solas. you can find happiness in your own way

solas: i apologize for disturbing you cole. i am not a spirit. sometimes it hard to remember such simple truths.

cole: they are not gone so long as you remember them

solas: i know

cole: but you could let them go

solas: i know that as well

cole: you didnt do it to be right, you did it to save them
