Ar is a personal pronoun meaning I or me

Lath means love

Ma means me or mine

Vhenan means heart

Yea I actually went back after he yelled at me and re-did it. I figured, if he actually had expressed that he didn't want me to do it, I wouldn't have. But I read his response as, "someone should do it, but not morrigan." Which meant me? But then it pissed him off.

I think even though he tells you Morrigan shouldn't be the one to drink from the well, it simply doesn't occur to him that Lavellan would do it. Morrigan's clearly got an agenda. She has a reason. Solas knows first-hand how horrifying the ancient elven "gods" can be and I really, truly think he's just flabbergasted by the thought that the Inquisitor, who as far as he can tell doesn't have some hidden scheme going on, would willingly make herself a slave. And we all know how he feels about slavery - especially slavery of the mind.

I definitely think drinking from it yourself is the most interesting option, especially if you're romancing Solas. Even if it never leads anywhere (and I hope it does), it's a twisted little turn of events that I just love.

Maybe you need to be at that specific place to get it?

If you take Cole with you when you deliver the phylactery from a dead templar to his mage lover in the Crossroads, a sweet banter can trigger between him and Solas about how those two had to follow love even though it was doomed, and Solas says "of course they did."

I'm glad I missed that talk when I talked with Sera towards the end game to get her quests out of the way. My Lavellan would have probably cracked and done something she'd regret, since otherwise she was trying to move on and keep a smiling face for the sake of her soldiers. Little Sera throwing her pain back in her face like that? I really do not want to think what my Inquisitor would have done, but it would have not ended well.

Solas: I had no choice.
Cole: She is bare-faced, embarrassed, and she doesn’t know. She thinks it’s because of her.
Solas: You cannot heal this, Cole. Please, let it go.
Inquisitor: Perhaps Cole can get a better answer from you than I did.
Cole: He hurts, an old pain from before, when everything sang the same. You’re real, and it means everyone could be real. It changes everything, but it can’t. They sleep, masked in a mirror, hiding, hurting, and to wake them… (Gasps.) Where did it go?
Solas: I apologize, Cole. That is not a pain you can heal.

Cole: They can only return to the Maker if they become real. Why can't they be forgiven as they are?

Solas: People say they lack the ability to learn or grow.

Solas: It isn't about right and wrong. It's about attention, when you think you have been forgotten.

I think the problem here is that some of the writers might have felt any explicit scene would have felt... Forced to some people. Rape-ish to some others. Not only is Solas lying about who he is, he's also deceiving Lavellan into believing the relationship will work even though he most likely knows deep down that it will not end well. Which I can't really blame them for if that was their thought process, if you just hear the particulars as opposed to experiencing the entire romance it could have come off as if he only wanted to get into her pants and then leave her high and dry. We all know that isn't the case, but people have made worse logical leaps before. So I don't blame them for only hinting at an intimate scene.

 

What I'm still a little miffed by is that they didn't have more non-intimate scenes, or were they worried they'd tip their hand too early if they did? I don't know, but I wish he had at least one or two more. ):

It sounded more like he doesn't think it should be left there, vulnerable. He definitely is concerned for your wellbeing when you drink from it. The varying routes of dialogue show the degrees of his concern, and why exactly he's concerned (if you put in context clues. And it certainly makes more sense once you finish the game and do it again.)

Does anyone know what Solas says when the Inquisitor dies in battle? I think he said something elvish like "fenedith" but checking out the words I can't really think of something. It can't be vhen, because it is another pronounciation than with the f... eth seems to mean safety. maybe he also said fenedeth... Do you have any idea?
