But wouldn't it be a bit much if Weekes wrote Scribbles as well?

3 companions already seems like a lot, especially since some writers have only 1 character so far

I don't think we've gotten any information on who Scribbles writer is though. Personal opinion, but I highly doubt he'll be writing her

But Gaider wrote Asunder? Shouldnt he write Cole?

What other ME/DA character did Weeks write?

For DAI, he's writing Cole, Solas, and Iron Bull. I suppose it's possible he wrote Scribbles, but given that some of the other writers only have one or two companions, I'm guessing someone else did.

For ME he definitely wrote Mordin (and I believe he was responsible for the entire Tuchanka arc on ME3, which is pretty much the highlight of the series for me). He also wrote Jack, Tali, Kasumi, and Sam. Seeing it all down like that is making me sad that he's probably not writing a female companion, because I really like all of those characters.

The mass effect characters I remember him writing were Mordin, Jack and someone else. Kind of tired to remember. But he is a really good writer ^^

edit: he wrote Tali and Kasumi as well ^^

Tali is my favorite Mass character not including shep [joint with garrus]. I am also exceedingly fond of Mordin, Jack and Kasumi C: tuchanka is one of my favorite mass arcs as well.

promising!

Ikr! Patrick Weekes has a very good track record when writing characters so I think it looks very promising indeed  ^_^

That also may happen to Cole.

"It doesn't matter if they don't remember me. All that matter is that I remembered and I helped."

Wrote this a while back, it seems relevant enough, mwahahaha...

How about a continuation to this thing i wrote?

*Cole's arc at the game's end...*

Inquisitor: I'll always remember you

Cole: *sad eyes but with smile* no...you won't *fades away*

Continuation

*Inquisitor finds a book while rummaging through his/her office*

The book being a journal written by Cole, filled with his experiences throughout the game

things like:

"I'm starting a journal today, Solas/Varric is teaching me how to write.

says it would be interesting to see if written records also disappear if I write them."

"Bumped into Sera today, she looked at me with mean cold eyes, she scares me."

"Iron Bull made me try ale, it was bitter.

when he asked me if i'd like some milk instead he almost fell off his chair laughing after i said yes."

.

.

.

.

.

and in the few last pages there could be a few of varric's jokes, solas's grading cole's grammar/vocabulary, maybe even something that sera drew for cole if they're friends later on.

and the last page, a farewell from Cole to the inquisitor and all the people he met.

Even if everyone forgets, at least this will remain.

*Ok that should be enough tears for a bathtub*

Inquisitor: w-what, no, we just met, I mean, you’re very nice and all but

Solas: No, I mean, if you die, can I have your hand, the green one.

Inquisitor: oh

I was thinking about the potential heartbreaking moments in DA:I the other night and, since the Inquisitor is the only one with the magic Fade hand (I'm assuming) and is necessary to close the Veil tears, I could see the majority of our companions sacrificing themselves to save her/him and... I don't want to think about that too much :crying:

Can you refresh my memory please?   Did PW actually say he wasn't a dreamer?    Only the description of what he does when is goes to sleep "where the veil is thin" sounds a lot like a dreamer.   Or has he really discovered a third way of entering the Fade at will?  The first being with lyrium, the second being with blood and the third doing what he does?

As for being mostly self-taught.   Well of course he could have learnt something from an older apostate, which is why he knew how to stay clear of Templars.   He could have learned from the Dalish or may be he learnt from the Spirits themselves.    After all humans were meant to have learnt certain types of magic from demons.   Solas can do things that other mages never thought of doing and we're assuming that means Rift mage because we've never had one of those before, so may be he did learn from a Spirit.

We've never really encountered a self taught mage before.    Malcolm Hawke was in the Circle before he fled with Leandra.   Hawke and Bethany were taught by him.   Morrigan was taught by Flemeth.     Most mages get hauled off to the Circle the moment they show any magical aptitude.

Might be worth asking what his family were doing in the village he came from.    Elves, apart from the Dalish, are generally found in the cities and have to get special permits to move around from one part of the city to another and from city to city.   When elves try to move away from the ghetto, it is very often their human neighbours who drive them back again.    Was it in fact a village of apostates?    There was a Mages Collective in Ferelden and quite possibly elsewhere as well.   We had the mage underground in Kirkwall.   It makes sense that in the past a group of mages might have got together for protection and just like in the Circles, distinctions of elf and human don't apply when you have a common enemy in the Templars.   That could be why he doesn't like applying such distinctions.    Did something bad happen to his village which caused him to go off on his own into the wild or did he just go walkabout and never went back?

There's going to be plenty to talk about with Solas beyond just the Fade.

So I looked in the Artificer Dagna thread and it seems Jennifer Hepler tweeted confirming that Dagna will be in inquisition. How does everyone feel how Solas will act towards her since they both love studying different aspects of magic?

Willing sacrifices? I can see it as morally contradictory for an upright Inquisitor.

An Inquisitor who can't stomach people making sacrifices in their name might be sacrificing the entire world instead.  The idea of rejecting such sacrifices is sweet, but very dangerous.

Edit: In several interviews so far devs have talked about DA:I really examining the different facets of what it means to be a leader.  That could be one of them!  Leaders have to accept responsibility for the lives of their followers while understanding that lives will be lost.
