So If your Inquisitor drank for the Well (like mine did) then wouldn't that mean that the Inquisitor is bound to Solas/is a servant. That could mean even more heartbreak for both Lavellan and Solas. Oh but that, my darling, makes it all the more intense. The concept of 'will' from a philosophical point of view leaves much up for questioning, and many loopholes. Since the well binds Lavellan to "the will of Mythal" there is the potential that she can not be bound to anything as Solas absorbing Mythal would bend that will into another, and thus break the binding.

If that is not the case there is also the question of will itself. Do people really have freewill, or is everything up to fate? If they really do have freewill to what degree? And what level of will is she bound to? Is Lavellan bound to only his conscious will or do the innermost desires he has of/for her play a part as well? In which case does Lavellan have the freedom to move around within his will? And If Solas wills for her to no longer be bound is she free? If you've ever seen Ella enchanted being bound to someone's will is basically the same as being forced to be obedient. When faced with a paradox in what the person is bound to they can no longer be bound in either case. "I will no longer be obedient." If she obeys that she no longer has to be obedient to future commands, if she does not obey it she disobeyed the original curse and thus broke it as well.

So.  If he wills that she no longer be bound to his will...

 

Although he did say he thought it would be fascinating to see our indomitable will dominated and Lavellan could always call him on that.

Because I'm not taking him on all my adventuring, I'm doing quite well at not being completely obsessed with Solas in my Sassquisitor playthrough. Although I haven't gotten to that glorious walk to Skyhold scene yet. Playing on hard mode so I'm running around trying to level up as much as possible before I go into the last Haven mission. I'm becoming rather fond of my human noble though. I unintentionally made him the dorkiest looking man, ever. He always has this stupid smile on his face. Quite the opposite to my elf who was always looked like she was going to cry. With those big sad eyes. It made it all the more potent when she got crushed.

yes you can, I did just that (couldn't resist that fade kiss, even on a Cullenmance play)

I just started my second playthrough as a human female, and meeting Solas for the first time I'm just like "waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

 

I don't think I can do this. This is supposed to be my "devout andrastian romance cullen" playthrough. Theoretically Solas should hate my guts by the end of this. But I don't think I can do it. I'm gonna tear up everytime I talk to him.

 

What have you done to me Bioware? 

Only way I could get my cullenmancer all the way to skyhold was by not talking to Solas.

I tried my best to make my Inquisitor elfy but being on last generation (PS3) She completely failed. Got to love those old graphics -____- I wish I could afford a gaming PC or PS4 ugggghhhh...so jealous.

I'm the same boat as 360 user. All of my gaming rig savings went into moving expenses just at the best time (release day week of all things!)

Well, I named my new elf Inera, which I think/ hope translates to something like, "in dreams" in Elvish. I'm going to try and spread out the Solas romance a bit this time, since this will be my completionist play through. It sucked the first time, getting all his scenes as soon as I got to Skyhold, then nothing until after the Well. Hopefully I can find all the references to their relationship this time, since those are always so cute (or silly/inappropriate if it's Sera).

Speaking of party banter... 

 

I actually struggled with getting any party banter in my game. I heard the post Temple of Mythal cutscene banter with Cole/Solas and it surprised me, because up until this point there has been no romantic party banter what-so-ever. Is there more than just that final one with Cole? Could anyone link me to it?

Countless hours in both previous Dragon Age games and never gave a hoot about romance prior to the very first scene with Solas. Now, after seeing the end... 

He sneaks up on you, doesn't he ? I was gonna romance Cullen, Ironbull and maybe Blackwall. Then I talk to the baldie elf...

Oh you gonna like this Solas, I asked a languages expert (he does Game of Thrones and Defiance alien langages) about Bioware Elven and he told me it is not a full language, is just a cypher. so it will be easy to translate

Hey do you happen to know if Dragon Age's Elven and Tevinter are complete languages like yours ? They didn't look like languages to me but on this last game (Dragon Age Inquisition) there are a lot of conversations in elven and I'm starting to wonder ... As far as I can tell from the wiki page, it’s basically an English cipher, with, perhaps, someone over there figuring out word types (e.g. noun vs. verb vs. adjective). Using restaurants as an analogy, it looks like the rough equivalent of, say, a guy selling burritos out of the back of his car, maybe? You may like them (depending on where you get them, homemade burritos can be excellent), but it wouldn’t be appropriate to compare it to the fare at a five star restaurant—or even a two star food truck.

For those who don’t create languages, I know it seems like it’s really difficult to create a language, but it’s actually very simple to create a bad one. If you decide that word order will decide which is the subject and which the object, you can create word forms for every single word in English, and, bam! New language. E.g.:

frondel = dog

zesten = cat

an = the

drok = chase

-ut = -ed

An frondel drokut an zesten.

"The dog chased the cat."

You can probably create a computer program to generate a thousand of these an hour. You can get slightly more complicated and make up kooky definitions for word forms, like zlefik, “the emotion one feels upon realizing that one wasn’t paying attention when a stranger entered the room and made their initial salutations to those in attendance”, but it doesn’t make the language more interesting. It’s still basically a coded form of English.

So, to answer the question, the language is not one like mine or that a conlanger would make, but given the type of creation it is, it can probably generate a large vocabulary rather quickly, and can be used for translation. It won’t be worthy of note, but if one likes it, then one can certainly enjoy using it.

Before I finished my first play-through, all I wanted was to start my second game file and romance Cullen, or Josephine. Or make a male and romance Dorian.

But no.

Now all I can think of is making another fem Levallan and having the exact same romance all over again.

When I first beat the game, I would have said yes. After hearing some other people's thoughts and considering it myself...I'm not sure. He could be, but it doesn't quite fit with what we know of Solas. His feelings towards Briala don't seem to fit either. 

 

My personal thought is that Solas might not be the only entity trying to hunt down ancient elven things.
