*Inquisitor finds a book while rummaging through his/her office*

 

The book being a journal written by Cole, filled with his experiences throughout the game

 

things like:

 

"I'm starting a journal today, Solas/Varric is teaching me how to write.

says it would be interesting to see if written records also disappear if I write them."

 

 

"Bumped into Sera today, she looked at me with mean cold eyes, she scares me."

 

 

"Iron Bull made me try ale, it was bitter.

when he asked me if i'd like some milk instead he almost fell off his chair laughing after i said yes."

.

.

.

.

 

and in the few last pages there could be a few of varric's jokes, solas's grading cole's grammar/vocabulary, maybe even something that sera drew for cole if they're friends later on.

 

and the last page, a farewell from Cole to the inquisitor and all the people he met.

Even if everyone forgets, at least this will remain.

you...are mean...today I was already happy for the publication of new stories of PKNA (after years of waiting, childhood return, yuhuuu!!!) and Solas, and...and...now...

Let's look on the bright side.   May be it won't be like DAO or ME or ME3, but like ME2.   I don't recall having to sacrifice anyone to save the day there.   All you had to do was to get the whole team loyal, buy all the necessary upgrades and equipment and then make the correct choices about who does what task, which if you were paying attention about what people are good at, wasn't so difficult to get right.   Then everybody lives.    Cue stirring music.

Just read Patrick Weekes interview, I have to say he's just dethroned Dorian and Scribbles as my most anticipated character in DAI.

Some odd pages back, I noticed several posts commenting on how different Solas looks. I can see that his chin cleft is a little less noticeable and that his nose looks a little shorter, but I did see some comments on his eye color being changed.

 

Was it? I can't see it very well, but in the profile picture used for his character blurb on the website, it almost looks like his eyes are brown. Is it just me? Is that what you guys were referring to when speaking of eye color? Are my eyes just truly terrible?

One of the devs, I forget who, made a post when someone asked about Sera's eye color. They appear blue in her quote picture, but ended up being hazel-ish.

 

The dev said that "Frostbite does weird things to eye colors."  So, at this point, it is difficult to tell what color Solas' eyes will be in-game.  They appear brown in his quote pic, but that could just be due to the lighting in that environment. His face is mostly in shadow, so that could be affecting the eye color.

Yeah don't worry, you're not hallucinating , but they look brown to me now too. Shame because I loved the unique blue/violet colour but maybe its the lighting or just some minor tweaking, which I'm ok with, as long as he still looks like our loveable Solas

I'm not too bothered if there's sacrifice/tragedy, so long as it's not a case of x companion/character always dies/does this here.  I hate not being able to influence an outcome.  I can cope with an either x or y character dies here like in ME or the suicide mission in ME2, but really didn't like the Leandra and Anders outcomes in DA2 -  I realise that the chantry had to be blown up but could someone else not have done it depending on choices??  And ME3... oh my don't get me started on Thane        . I think that Mordin and the Tuchancka mission were hands down the best part of that game,

 

So, Solas better not be considering sacrificing himself to save the inquisitor or anyone else... that's just not on!

An Inquisitor who can't stomach people making sacrifices in their name might be sacrificing the entire world instead.  The idea of rejecting such sacrifices is sweet, but very dangerous.

 

Edit: In several interviews so far devs have talked about DA:I really examining the different facets of what it means to be a leader.  That could be one of them!  Leaders have to accept responsibility for the lives of their followers while understanding that lives will be lost.

No matter how much we, protagonists, would like to imagine ourselves as The Saviors, the world usually have the means of saving itself, and rarely rely on a single person.

I'm interested how what sacrifices we choose are going to affect the game, and how Solas views the inquistor.  Do you think he'll have a breaking point where the inquisitors actions could cause him to leave?

Devs said that most of them will, though some would be harder to drive away than the others.

I hear what you're saying, but they'd be outlandish to me.  I tend to go for more regular colours for my own PCs too, just my preference.

I honestly prefer him looking the way he does in the newer pictures. The darker eyebrows and lashes define his face better along with the darker eyes so he doesn't look totally washed out. 

 

Although pale pretty eyes wouldn't be so bad, my problem had really been mostly with the eyebrows and lashes xD

the problem is definitely the frostbyte: I just looked at Leliana's picks in the twitter thread, and she seems to have brown eyes too. And she never had brown eyes...

 

I'm a little worried about this thing: I like having characters with light coloured eyes or very fantasysh (red, purple, yellow) it in game alla eyes seem brown...well, is not funny...

It turns out the Leliana currently has brown eyes as well. So I'm thinking the eye colours are either being tweaked or something is broken.

I'm really digging all the guyliner in Inquisition. I have a, erm...thing about it.    Not sure what's up with Leliana's apparent love for the metallic pink lip gloss I used to wear in junior high, though.

I hope not ALL the eyes are brown or brown-ish with Frostbite. I like brown and hazel fine, but it does seem a bit odd to make ALL the eyes that color! And count me among those who'll miss Solas's pretty, unusually colored light eyes if they really are gone. Hopefully this is just something they plan to tweak/fix.
