Oh goodness, that screenshot, that quest. I actually cried. (I don't cry because of games/movies; though there are few exceptions *coughBiowarecough*) I had a long day that day, and to see my companions fall... *shudders*

Edit: I should mention my companions for that quest were Dorian (ofc), Blackwall, and Solas. ...Ow, my heart.

And I´m back! Although nobody probably remembers me Finished my first playthrough and Solas turned out to be everything I wanted him to be, such a well written character and romance arc, just wished for more scenes. I have a feeling that final scene is setting up an expansion or a dlc,surely they wouldn´t have us waiting another 3-4 years?

I'm also sad because my elf wouldn't have the best of reactions if they ever met up. I have a feeling that that's why Solas was so hesitant to commit to a relationship with female Lavellan's.

I hadn't really planned ahead of time who my Inquisitor was going to be, or who she was going to romance for that matter.  For me, I thought the most interesting way to play the game was as a Dalish mage (a Dalish, and a mage as the Herald of Andraste.  Was too juicy to pass up).  I was going to see what the companions were like before starting a romance, but then I remembered that Solas would only romance a female dalish.  Which had me curious how big/important that story line would be.  Oh my, what I got myself into!

Well ... I finished the game about 20 mins ago. (I didn't finish every single quest, or area, but I managed to clock in around 95 hours.)  I had myself prepared for heartbreak, this is a BioWare game after all.  But holy moly I was NOT prepared for that!  Ugggggh now how am I supposed to sleep!?!?

Honestly I bought the game with full intention of romancing Cullen, but then Solas was so interesting, my elfy couldn't resist him... then this... aaaargh! I was starting to get a bit bitter about there being no closure while the credits were running, but then... speechless. Well done, Bioware. Grr.

I'm unsure how I'll roleplay any (potential-- I hope) reunion between my Lavellan and Solas who were in a romance.  I know she'd be bewildered about everything, to put it lightly.

Yeah, my plan at this point is to do a Cullenmance playthrough, and then start the Solasmance playthrough again once all the DLC/expansions are out... in 5 years or so.

It would totally be worth it.  Unless a Witch Hunt DLC comes out sooner.  But that was the last dlc wasn't it. . .

well, i'm back. that was.. a trip.

 

i did that one scene (you know the one) five or so times before i decided on an outcome. still not sure it was the right one. Solas was a better character than i could have dreamed (though PW's charas are some of my favorites so i really shouldn't be surprised). 

 

oof. incoherent post. i'm still processing (and it's 4am, so i should be asleep)

I finished the game. Was not expecting that... I really hope we don't have to wait for the next game, I'm praying for an expansion like awakening or a DLC like Witch Hunt. I'm trying to go back and read your speculation, it makes me feel better

Next run I'll try to roll a human female and go for Cullen, but it will be hard. Don't know if I'll resist, ahah. I want to play as a dalish mage so bad now, but I also want to wait for my guide to arrive and I will save it for my completionist playthrough, maybe even my canon one.


It seems our baldy is a popular romance... is it true? I hope so! Everyone should have some Solas!

I don't really get why people freak out so much because of the sex scenes anyway...
If it's there and it's well done sure, I'll take it
But I don't need it, the Vallaslin scene is much better imo
The entire last scene is absolutely fantastic

Plus in Solas x Lavellan the sex is not what gets them close. I mean if I was romancing Iron bull, Isabella or other pervie LI then yes, sex is a big part of the equation. But with Solas he falls for you (and you for him) based on the way they think and their wisdom. sex will be a yummy side benefit, but not part of what makes his romance special

 

Wish I had an Anders like sex scene with Quizzy and Lavellan though. It was so romantic, having him say I love you right after it Anders was such a sappy sweetheart until act 3.. Then he goes out and listens to Vengeance, the meanie!

I would say Solas is very popular! In terms of raw numbers he's probably towards the bottom, just because of how many lockouts he has. But I think there's a lot of curiosity towards his path, as it does seem to have a Morrigan-like plot focus on it. He's probably going to be a popular 'second playthrough' romance just because of who he is.

 

You can't find out who he is and not be curious about what a romance path with him is like. 

 

I'd put money down that Cullen is the most popular of the male romances. I haven't really gotten a good feel about how people generally feel about Iron Bull's romance. It seems that people either like it, or felt it was played too much for laughs or didn't feel as committed as the others.

 

If Cullen and Solas do end up being the most romanced male characters... its a good thing they added them in towards the end! Hard to believe those two options might not have existed.

I don't think so. Mythal and the person she bonded with seem to have been together a long while. Enough for her to go through several generations of daughters.

I think Solas will be popular in fics, so at least there's that. The number of kinkmeme prompts featuring him. That looks like an unfinished sentence, but I really don't know what else to say.
