I´ve been thinking, Solas is the only romance that doesn´t have as much content as the other ones yes? And it seems like the other ones get as much content (not sure,feel free to correct me on this) What if they had a dlc in mind from the start and decided to finish his romance in that one? As in they divided the Resources between the vanilla game and said dlc?

3) I felt like it was better for my Inquisitor to drink, cos it was her people and I interpreted Solas's comment as "Morrigan shouldn't be the one to drink it, thus it should be you." But then he got pissed at me, and I decided I misunderstood his dialog, and went back and changed it. At this point, I honestly don't know which is the better choice. 

 

The Well gave me pause. My Inquisitor felt really strongly that no one should drink from the Well but as that wasn't an option, she let Morrigan do it. Even if Morrigan may not be the most trustworthy, my Quizzy was too humble to dare taking such knowledge for herself, regardless if it was a last relic of her people.  Morrigan was the one that wanted it so bad, then she could be the one to pay the cost.

1. I'm torn on this. I think if they did sleep together it would be between scenes 2 and 3. There are several lines of banter or dialogue that suggest they may be sleeping together, but it is otherwise purposefully ambiguous. It's definitely not a main focus of whatever is going on in their relationship; he is much more interested in her "spirit". It's pretty clear he lusts after her, but I also wonder if he'd feel like having sex would be taking advantage of her since he's not telling the truth about who he is. If he were the type of character to say "sex isn't serious" then I'd agree 100% that they slept together, but I don't know if that's how he views things. We don't have any codex entries on the way ancient elves viewed sex

 

2. I didn't let him do it on the first playthrough, but re-thinking my character...I think she would let him do it. In the beginning my Lavellan is super-Dalish. She doesn't like humans, and has a general "Call of the Wild" (survival of the fittest/unyielding/strict punishment) mentality. She wouldn't be above killing people - especially humans - that cross her or her friends. Plus those mages are so pompous in the beginning, and so unashamed afterwards that it's pretty clear they didn't learn anything. I think when I replay Lavellan for completion she might let him kill them.

 

3. I agree. If Solas - seeker of knowledge - doesn't want the knowledge why would I. But the fanfic/DLC potential of being connected to Mythal/Flemeth/Solas/Fen'Harel is huge. It's so tempting. I don't know if you were playing as a mage, but I thought of how much training the Keeper's first must have in denying the temptation to give into desire, even if it's desire for knowledge. Merrill was shunned from her clan for going outside of the normal realms of magic, and I imagine drinking from the well would also be considered dangerous (but I still want to do it).

 

4. It was so good! Quizzie is the first character I've thought is important and not just a vessel for the player. The Dalish background seems so relevant - like it matters that this particular character stumbled into the inquisition. Whereas with the Warden and Hawke I always felt like anybody could have done what they did under the right circumstances (I still love Hawke and my Warden though).

 

There are a crap ton of clan-less Lavellans! They should form a new Amazon-warrior type clan. My headcannon is that Varric hooks her up with Merrill, and they go off with Cole and a few others to search for elven ruins^{and Solas though she won't outright say that...}

I think he loves her. The prelude to kiss one was in fact him telling her that, in his own way, and ofc Lavelllan caught up to it

He tells her of how he watched her asleep, desperate to cure her, (probably feeling guilty as well), then was giving up but couldn't give up and was always having "one last attempt to seal the breach" and then she wakes up and saves them. He saw a chance for him an Thedas but not just that.. she changed everything, shook him to the core.. The very definition of love at first sight

 

When she kisses him in the fade, he can't help it, he lets go and does what his heart has been wanting to do for ages.

 

But like you said, he doesn't want to use her so he tries to push her away

Solas isn't sure she - as a mortal - will survive all that they have to do to fix things. And if she dies without them snogging the heck out of each other, i.e. (if i lose you) then he will never forgive himself, so he agrees to the romance because odds are she will die in the process of saving Thedas

And thats the frightning part to be honest. It really is a whole different experience for me to end the game with my character in such a vulnerable state.

I think it is up to the player to decide if they were intimate or not. There's plenty of dialogue to confirm that they did, but you could also take it as the other characters just teasing them. 

 

If they had shown them having sex, chances are there would be a lot of speculation if Lavellan was now pregnant with a demon baby. Showing sex onscreen puts the act into a narrative focus.

 

Then there's also the fear that it might have made the player uncomfortable. While it might make narrative sense for them to have a traditional love scene, a player might see sex between them as being a bit rapey. He's lying to her, and not only that, there's an immense power difference between the two. It is in bioware's best interest to avoid anything that might make a player uncomfortable. I think they made the right call when you look at it from an outside perspective.

 

Perhaps they'll revisit it in DLC, now that the player is aware of what they are getting into.

My Lavellan didin't drink from the Well for this reason too. Solas was strongly against it and he's the expert, so...

Maybe I'll let my dalish mage drink from it next time, I have yet to decide. I love the fact that it would bind her to him after the ending, it is so much interesting if in a romance. I fear the concequences might be tragic for them, though

Sad indeed. I mean she would not agree to an evil plan like setting loose the Old Gods so they rule Thedas, or letting the Elves make a comeback Tevinter-style like Cory tried... But she could so easily be sweet talked into it. For love. For a warped sense of 'helping her people'.

 

Thats just like whats-her-name helping Cory to get a chance at setting things right for slaves in Tevinter. Yup, I think my Quizzy might sink that low righ now. Maybe in a few months il have things in a better perspective. and ill be glad not having drank from the Well. Who knows?

I found the decision pretty agonizing, too. Metagame wise I'd probably go with Morrigan but it was a tough choice. The thing is, afterwards he said he begged her not to do it, and you don't really see that in the game. So mentally I add in a scene where he pulls her aside and they have an impassioned argument in elven about it. I think my character would trust his advice since he's so certain.

It's possible Solas isn't concerned about the knowledge being lost because it must also be in the Fade somewhere. He's not buying Mythal's bullshit.

I think a lot of it depends on how much of the truth Solas told her. She wants to believe he's a good person and loves her, so much, that if he convinces her it's the best thing for world, she'd believe him. 

 

And then knowing Bioware, it's gonna turn out horribly and the entire plot of DA4 will be someone else having to fight against all the old elven gods who are trying to take over the world. 

 

But as long as my Inquizzie is with Solas, I'm fine with that! It's someone else's problem! Someone else who will hopefully romance someone who isn't so tragic...

The fact that he doesn't give her this choice up front makes me so angry. He's the 'god' of rebellion and all about free choice; but, he makes a choice for her. He gets all of the information, believes it won't end well, and then decides that the best thing is to break up with her and leave her with no explanation. He thinks he's helping her (because he assumes she doesn't have the information she needs and cannot learn it and would thus make a poor decision) but really he's crippling her ability to act. She's not free at all the way he left things, and it drives me bonkers.

So I was running across Skyhold no, ofc not to hear from Solas that soft and warm "My heart" and I got under textures somehow. And there is THAT! O.o I couldnt get closer - that thing just dissapeares O.o AND there is some funny cheerful music playing! OMG. Devs do have sense of humor

This happened to me as well. There was some kind of carnival music and giant statue of a pumpkin with rabbit ears in a tophat...don't ask me. I have no idea. However, I surmise that this must be Cassandra's secret hobby lair >_>
