I though about something similar: Maybe Flemeth wasn't powerful enough to reach whatever she wanted to reach into the Fade so, she had no choice but to free/help Fen'harel because, somehow they share a common agenda? Perhaps that's why she needed the soul of Urthemiel, maybe it/he is another source of power? Also, before the split, the boy (Kieran) seemed to understand and agree with Flemeth, maybe they were friends in another life?

I get the impression from Flemeth's wording in the post-epilogue scene. "You should not have given your orb to Corypheous, Dreadwolf". "given" implies that he willingly let Corypheous have it.

He doesn't, but Flemeth does. Solas doesn't argue with her, so we generally assume that she was telling the truth. Had it been stolen from him, Flemeth would have probably said something like: 'You should not have allowed Corypheus to take your orb'

I don't know I might sound like I'm trying to deny of him doing that...but I just don't see Solas doing that deliberately.If he's really that bad of a person I don't think he would give it to Cory and then come help us fix things ya know? But I hope we get some answers in a near future DLC.

I seem to remember someone saying that the foundations.... right, that's it, the blacksmith in the Undercroft.  I think that's the original build and he says that the place was built for something specific but he can't figure out what it is.  Then there's all the elven codex entries about holding up the sky and stuff.  I think that's where Fen'Harel worked his spell to create the Veil.

He created the Veil?! Why did that never occur to me before? Does someone say that? I thought he just put some people to bed! But creating the Veil makes tons of sense

Also, doesn't he seem surprised that the orb's power didn't kill Corypheus? I might be remembering that wrong, but if it's true, what if he gave it to Cory to kill two birds with one stone? Orb is activated and the one who activated it is killed.

I definitely think it was two birds with one stone.  The guy's a chess master, for heaven's sake!  And he says later that he never expected a Tevinter mage to be able to use it.

Well we'll never know until we get some answers lol...in a DLC I guess. But i'm not gonna point my finger to Solas and yell VILLAIN just yet. It's all speculation right now and so many unanswered questions. Hopefully we will get that in a DLC like I said.

Actually it just occurred to me that all the rumors that my Inquisitor was bedding her allies were probably about Dorian. There was that conversation with Mother Giselle talking to us about it...

 

So I guess my Inquizzie never slept with Solas after all lol.

It was amazing how expressive Solas's face was. He could look so sweet and happy one moment, and the next like his heart was breaking or he was burning up in rage.

And I didn't actually get the "enjoyable side benefits" line during my real playthrough...so yea. I just find it much more entertaining to think that any rumors about my Inquisitor sleeping around were about the one person she was definitely not sleeping with.

Yes, and that really drove home to me how truly Spock-like he is.  He feels so much but he must suppress everything for the supposed good of all.

 

I still think he's a toxic bastard as far as love interests go, but yeah, I do understand what he's doing and why.
